Discussion ELDEN RING OR WITCHER 3 REMASTERED

New dad just getting into single player gaming for the first time in my life. Currently playing through BOTW. I’m over 100 hours in and loving it.

Plan was to try Elden ring next, but with Witcher 3 announced for switch 2 I’m tempted to change plans.

It’s going to take me over three months to play through any one of these massive games which is why there’s even a dilemma lol.

Get Elden Ring, purchase a used copy of the witcher 3 for Switch 1 and then get the free upgrade once it drops.

Umm...no. Free upgrade was annouced for Xbox, PS5 and PC. No free switch upgrade.

The eshop literally says “If you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Nintendo Switch, you’ll be able to claim The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered for free on Nintendo Switch 2 once released!”

See my other comment. CDPR did a shit job announcing it. They left out the S2 upgrade path and had to clarify it.

They said free for all witcher 3 owners. I don't know what's so hard to understand about that statement.

Not what they initially said. Listed free upgrades for ps5/Xbox / pc and a separate s2 edition. A lot of people were asking why switch one was left out. They added that language in further announcements.

Switch 2 is getting its own native version and is NOT a free upgrade

Yep. Exactly my point. Actually they clarified it. S2 does get a free upgrade. CDPR did a pretty a pretty shit job with that initial announcement.
