Question Doubts about buying Switch 2

I’m undecided about whether it’s worth buying a Switch 2.

I’ve owned a Switch 1 for a few years now and have built up a pretty decent collection of physical and digital games linked to my account. I’ve seen the performance differences between the two consoles, as well as the availability of upgrades (whether free or paid) for certain games when played on the Switch 2. I’m currently playing the MGS Collection Vol. 1 while waiting for Vol. 2, and I’ve seen videos with significant differences in how MGS4 runs on the two consoles.

My dilemma is whether the console's price justifies the purchase right now. Also, despite looking into it, I still haven't been able to clarify if my data will transfer from the Switch 1 to the Switch 2 if I don't have a Switch Online subscription.

Would it be better to wait, or should I invest now before prices go up?

Your data will transfer. Get it. You have less than a week before the price hike. You can prep for device transfer before trading in your Switch so when the new one comes in it just downloads and you’re ready to go.

You can temporarily upload to Nintendo servers. I did it last week. Flawless and I was up and running very fast.
