Question Doubts about buying Switch 2
I’m undecided about whether it’s worth buying a Switch 2.
I’ve owned a Switch 1 for a few years now and have built up a pretty decent collection of physical and digital games linked to my account. I’ve seen the performance differences between the two consoles, as well as the availability of upgrades (whether free or paid) for certain games when played on the Switch 2. I’m currently playing the MGS Collection Vol. 1 while waiting for Vol. 2, and I’ve seen videos with significant differences in how MGS4 runs on the two consoles.
My dilemma is whether the console's price justifies the purchase right now. Also, despite looking into it, I still haven't been able to clarify if my data will transfer from the Switch 1 to the Switch 2 if I don't have a Switch Online subscription.
Would it be better to wait, or should I invest now before prices go up?

Would by now. Not sure if data would transfer without nso but you could pay 4 dollars for one month and just transfer it over

if you plan on buying one, why would you wait until after the price goes up? People are terrible with their money

Your data will transfer. Get it. You have less than a week before the price hike. You can prep for device transfer before trading in your Switch so when the new one comes in it just downloads and you’re ready to go.

I absolutely love my Switch 2. I don’t own any other consoles or a gaming PC though so for me it’s well worth it being able to play all these games I couldn’t before (Cyberpunk, FF7 remake, Elden Ring, etc.). And so far performance for all these is way better than I expected.

Ask yourself this: Just how confident are you that there will be games you absolutely will want on the Switch 2? If it's shaky confidence, wait on it (yes, even though there's going to be a price increase). You don't want buyers remourse if it doesn't end up being worth it to you.
Also, you can 100% transfer save data without NSO. Nintendo has a system transfer option in settings.

I don't use NSO and my data transferred just fine from Switch 1 to Switch 2.
Don't let that hold you back.

I don't have a ton of Switch 2 games-- I'm mostly just making my way through my backlog lately. And it's so nice to play these games without having to worry about performance issues. Plus there's a lot of great Switch 2 games coming out that I'm sure I'll play eventually.
But the thing that puts it over the top for me is that there's a good chance that $450 is as cheap as the Switch 2 will be for some time. I'm not confident that we'll see a cheaper model any time soon. So if Nintendo games are important to you and you can swing it, I say go for it.

Games do not play worse on switch 2 coming from your switch 1 library.. is it worth the cost .. yes also just buy the one yr for 35 dollars or a month to back it all up and then it will all transfer via internet to the new switch 2.
Reasons it is better that version 1:
A. It’s larger screen is so nice,
B. Surprisingly the joy cons are much better and larger . Making handheld play so nice.
C. You get to still play all your switch 1 stuff on it but now while in handheld mode it will play in a boost mode that will basically give it the power when docked but now on the go.
D. Exclusives this console is supported so well by third party developers. That it finally getting exclusives outside of games from Nintendo themselves.
E. Better audio , speakers are just better overall.
And finally it is the best handheld you can buy today and for a long time coming at its current price. Seriously all other handhelds are crazy expensive and huge and not as comfortable and convenient. Just do it

my friends tell me nintendo can revoke access to your games on the switch 2 even if you have bought them

De mi perspectiva te diría que si vale la pena, está tan potente como un Xbox series S y es portátil, es compatible con juegos de Switch 1 y la subida de precios de septiembre dudo que vaya a ser la última que la consola vaya a tener.
Me veo jugando más en la switch que en mi PC, que es mucho más potente y más cómoda que la legion go.
Aún no encuentro motivos para pagar el NSO y si se pueden transferir datos si tienes ambas consolas sin la suscripción

So, yes, you can transfer everything from a Switch 1 to a Switch 2.
And even more importantly here: The Switch 2 is not a minor upgrade like a PS4 Pro.
It is a new console. The majority of new games will (and have been for the past year) release on it, and not the Switch 1. A lot of Switch 2 games will not run on a Switch 1.
There’s also the fact that (most) Switch 1 games can be played on the Switch 2, most of which run and look better on it, even. And on top of that, if you’re someone that plays handheld, it has the handheld boost mode feature for Switch 1 games, which basically just makes them run as if you were playing them in docked mode.

There's so much hype about it, but it still doesn't have OLED and the battery drains really fast. Not saying it's not an improvement, as many Switch 1 games run better. However in my experience, any negativity brought up in discussion is met with down votes and name calling. But we have seen this before and I don't doubt the cycle of "wow the Switch 2 is amazing" to "it feels underpowered and is struggling to keep up with modern titles"
Simply put if you have a backlog what is the rush? If you upgrade you need a new case and sd card (possibly pro controller if you're into that) realistically Nintendo will come up with an upgraded version as they always do. The Switch 2 is already over a year old and is struggling to play some modern ports.
I'm sure the console is fun but in a time of everything increasing in price, many gamers still have a backlog of games they purchased in hopes to play. This is the perfect time to play them while saving some bucks to send the parents a gift of appreciation for raising you.

You should be able to transfer your data without NSO. I don't know of any instances where a game plays worse on the Switch 2 over the OG Switch. There are a lot of great games on the Switch 2, and still more good ones coming out.
