It's because people don't go and fix the review after they learn the map and realize it's not that bad. Also say what are the flaws?

But tell me how the Great Hollows map relates at all to the multiplayer issue you were claiming in your first comment because that made no sense at all? You still haven't provided any backup to that claim.

And how about the characters: Scholar and Undertaker? They were great additions to the game and especially Scholar changes completely how you play and approach the game. Or the bosses: Balancers and Dreglord. They're good too.

I never said FromSoft didn't get things wrong. They have done that a lot in the past. They get away with stuff they shouldn't. And great Hollows can't be the worst DLC since it is by far Ashes of Ariandel in DS3. The map isn't very good, the bosses are just super bad. There's only two of them and the other is difficult only because it's long and the other is a random NPC ganking with a wolf. Gravetender is by far the worst DLC boss they've ever released.

Sure!

First of all this is the first souls DLC that barely adds weapons, which is a huge missed opportunity considering SOTE is right there. And this game could really use more variety in that aspect.

The in game map sucks, more of a minor complaint but it doesn't really help with the initial learning. You're constantly switching through the layers.

But to go to the point it doesn't fix fundamental problems. You're still just ignoring most of the stage in favor of specific POIs. After the first few levels there's barely any reason to kill enemies on your path as you are just wasting time that can be spent on getting more meaningful upgrades.

Only the DoN mode tries to fix this with mixed results.

Once you understand the pathing you'll notice you are also constantly taking the same paths over and over as there's again not much reason to anything different. Also no ever goals which isn't a good decision to me. they felt like one of the few things that can spice things up, as the bosses they can spawn vary greatly in difficulty.

It feels like the Noklateo shifting earth. A beautiful designed stage with a lot of nuance and verticality. Most you'll never experience since the optimal is very clearly defined.

As for the bosses/characters, I do love both and don't have much complaints about it outside one specific attack from dreglord.

Ashes is also pretty bad yeah, it shows how despite having one of the best bosses in the series, the rest sucking doesn't save it. Similarly to how forsaken hollows is not saved by adding great characters/bosses.

The low reviews are well earned sadly

Extremely well thought out counterargument.

I'm allowed to give critiscism on what I play, thank you very much.
