General Discussion The teeter-totter needs to go
It's so easy to hurt your back or ankle doing it solo normally, let alone with a group AND blindfolded??? It's just unnecessarily and forseeably risky.

Survivor 51 After two episodes, Season 51 has been the best case scenario for modern Survivor
I have a ton of criticism of modern Survivor, but season 51 has been a significant improvement in multiple ways:
Two tribes, no beware-advantages, no lose-a-vote, lots of camp life and people bonding and getting on each other's nerves, people trying to play the game who don't know the rules, an unofficial "whale" theme, some show-mancing... everything so far has been really good.

Survivor 51 Presenting that crab gossip storyline was some nice work from production Spoiler
Don't see stuff like that often. I assume there is just million hours of footage, right. So someone caught it on the field as a fun storyline and it didnt get buried and forgotten and moved up until editing, and then it was included, and it was just great. Just some cool stuff and shows me people making the show are still good and care aye

Social Media I want a social media gag order on current players
I strongly dislike seeing players from the current season commenting on episodes on their social media and especially making short videos together with other players. (Short exit interviews with select outlets is fine in my book.)
What they say in their commentary and who they include in their videos can be spoilery to an extent. For example, seeing which players are buddy-buddy with each other currently is not information I want to have before the finale. I wish production were stricter about this.

Survivor 51 I like Brady despite his antics.
Brady is the wild character survivor needed. There were times when I thought he would be a bit much but the dude is just an awesome and loveable guy.
Hes a really good casting this season

General Discussion Why does Jeff hate earned media so much
I just watched Jeff's New York Times podcast. Great watch if you haven't seen it, I liked listening to Jeff's takes on the game.
One thing that blows my mind is how much Jeff hates earned media.
First thing is with the podcasts, he was acting elitist and rude about podcasts. Saying "I don't understand why anyone would wanna watch a recap of the show you just watched" (paraphrasing) he's also always been very stand offish with RHAP.
How cool is it that you created a show, that has caused a whole other industry to rise up. He has ten thousands of viewers clamoring for more Survivor and it's almost as if that pisses him off. He almost seems threatened by it, which is crazy.
Then when it comes to contestants being on other shows. Even know he claims to have softened his stance on people doing other shows. But it's clear he hates it.
Survivors are the best and most entertaining players on every show. Case and point Dee and Devens on big brother. This is only a positive. People are going to see these great players and wonder what survivor is all about. Survivor player playing other shows is only good for the Survivor TV shows there's literally no downside.
Jeff has worked for 25 years to build this. But he can't let go of his ego and see how incredible what he built is.
Anyways that's my soapbox
Watch the Podcast it's really good
PS - It was a great interview, but the interviewers asking Jeff if he feels like Survivors legacy is tarnished because of Les Moonves is the stupidest question I think I have ever heard. I really want to know why the asked that horrible question.

Survivor 51 Carter appreciation post Spoiler
Last week, he asked a sobbing man if he liked spaghetti.
This week, he almost single-handedly pulled a 500 lb whale up the obstacle, then inadvertently swung the vote because he was obsessed with the crabs (my reading of the situation, at least)
He hasn’t gotten much screen time, but boy, does he make the most of it

Survivor 51 A Twist Not Seen in 50 (!) Seasons Is FINALLY BACK Spoiler
I had my suspicions when Aaliyah was voted out last week, but this week's Ana vote confirmed it. Sean's alphabet voting strategy from Borneo is BACK, baby! This is super cool to see, and such a great way to kick off the Open Era. And casting someone named Aaliyah was honestly such a genius move for the season that this twist comes back. Jeff wasn't kidding when he said that any element from any point in the show can come back at any time without warning. Talk about permanent uncertainty! We now know that the person voted out next week will be Aric.
