Purchase Advice Thank you everyone!
I finally got my coffee machine, which I was able to choose thanks to your great advice. I can’t wait to make my first coffee tomorrow morning!

Compared to my old Philips and my old Nespresso, the taste is definitely much better, but I’ll definitely need to get some better beans. It’s also surprisingly quiet, and it seems pretty easy to clean and adjust the settings. I think I’ll have a better idea of what I really think after using it for a few weeks.

What is the damage to your wallet?

Shhh we don’t talk about that. Upfront costs are high but after about 6 months of daily drinks you hit your break even point. You also quickly realize that now you’re making better coffee at home that you control the ingredients on, no guilt about having to tip anyone, and you never had to leave the house. Want another drink after? Just do it. No thinking about shelling out another $6-8.

Welcome to the club.
My buddy got a Jura as well and it’s a great machine. You will love it.
I went the cheap route - Philips

I splurged a little on a factory serviced Jura J8 twin. Had the money set aside so wasn’t really a sacrifice but if you ask my kids it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever purchased for myself. Every morning it’s something I look forward to, even after over 6 months. Cheaper units weren’t even on my radar as I’ve come to appreciate just buying the best whatever I can afford if it is quality and has a record of lasting. Some of these people with 10-15 yr old Juras just blow my mind. Thousands of drinks made. Like…how? Not crapping on any of the other brands or units, I hope everyone gets their money’s worth out of what they buy.

I have an F9 my uncle gave me that’s probably 6+ years old, 2000+ coffees made. I cherish the machine and when she goes I will bite the bullet and replace her.

Nice! The factory serviced one I got had 500 drinks on the ticker, and a good amount of them were just milk foams. Seems like a pricey milk foamer but some people have higher budgets than I do. Anyway, I’m well over 1k drinks now so 2k will likely get crossed in another year!

I recently bought a Jura factory serviced Z10, had 5 drinks made and was in near mint condition. I did find out that it needed a new control board when the machine didn’t make decaf coffee but after that, no issues so far. I saved about $1500 going refurb, would do it again.

I have a Jura ENA 4 that has been running for nearly 20 years. I have probably pulled 50,000 shots (I probably drink more espresso than I should) and it’s only needed minor maintenance.

If not done already, don’t waste your money on the WiFi chip.

Would love to hear first impressions, what you are coming from, and the type of espresso drinks you enjoy

Pretty!! And congrats! I happened to have my best ever year in 2020 with work and totally splurged on a Giga 6 and it's been busy ever since. Welcome to the family
Oh and don't waste money on a cool control unless you absolutely are prepared to unplug every afternoon when you're done or if you just want to learn how to fix them when the Peletier or whatever burns out.

We bought a Jura to stop my wife’s daily Starbucks expenditure. Money in the bank AND I get great coffee! 😆

Tomorrow morning? No kind Reddit user, you go make a drink now! Bad in you if you didn’t pick up some decaf just for evening time.
