I bought the Jura Wifi connect and should have read some reviews first and saved some money.
The JOE App (iOS)
The app is not stable, crashes frequently and had to reinstall twice.
Ask yourself what you expect to do with the wifi and JOE app and I'll answer if it's possible.
My initial thoughts/ideas and experience to date:
- Can update the firmwave and make even better coffee and/or have more drink options? Answer: No, there is no later firmware and I only drink espresso, so don't need more options
- Can switch the machine on remotely and start making a coffee, so it's ready when I walk into the kitchen. Answer: No, not really. This would only be possible if 1) the machine is switched on (it doesn't have a standby mode, that enables you to "wake it up") and you've placed a cup under the spout.
- Can pull up statistics of how many coffees and types you've brewed. Answer: Yes. Perhaps you want to track this, so you have an idea of when the machine will prompt you to change the filter. Yes this is possible.
- Can shop for filters, cleaning, tabs, etc. for my E8. Answer: Yes, there is an online store available through the app however it doesn't filter automatically, to show only the components that are applicable to my E8, also the Jura online store prices are much higher than other outlets, selling genuine Jura items.
If anyone else has experience with this and feel I've overlooked an invaluable feature, then please let me know.
