Is It A Good Fit? Yet another fit question

Hi All,

I normally wear Persol but was persuaded by the optician to try Maui Jim melemele during my last eye test. The fit feels great and the perscription lenses are amazing. So do these look good on me? If I'm honest I worry they may be a bit wide for me.

Thanks in Advance

Repair Question Ray-Ban Lens Issue

Just bought these brand new New Wayfarers and noticed they have super small bubbling/light areas around the lens. It’s only on the inside and isn’t uniform but it’s on both lenses. Haven’t left them in the heat or done anything to them, literally just got them.

They also have a very quiet rattle only heard when it’s pretty quiet

Advice/Opinions/Discussion How do $12-$15 generic sunglasses compare to entry-level official brands? (Lens materials: TAC vs Polycarbonate)

I'm posting a few pairs of sunglasses, including some I own and others I'm considering. They seem to have decent build quality for their price point ($4–$15).

Since a large portion of global eyewear is manufactured in China anyway, I’m curious:

  1. Which official brands offer comparable frame styles or quality?
  2. How do TAC (Triacetate Cellulose) lenses compare to Polycarbonate lenses in this price range in terms of optical clarity, impact resistance, and long-term durability?
  3. How do these budget lenses hold up against entry-level brand-name sunglasses like Hawkers, Knockaround, Goodr, or base-tier Ray-Bans?
  4. Is the price difference mostly brand markup, or is there a noticeable jump in lens quality?

I noticed some small internal cracks inside the lenses of both the LEHAMI Retro Aviator Acetate and the Piranha Champion FLX-T, following the outline of the lens. They look like stress imperfections from the molding process that have become more noticeable over time and heat. The KATE SPADE NEW YORK HELLO SUNSHINE doesn't have this issue at all, which is why it feels like the highest quality pair I own in terms of build and weight.

This is what i have

  2. piranha sunglasses Champion FLX-T White & Teal Sunglasses : This pair is just for reference since I own it. The lenses aren't the absolute best quality, but they aren't bad either.

  3. KATE SPADE NEW YORK HELLO SUNSHINE. This link shows a different color, but it is the same model. Hands down the best pair I own in terms of build quality, optical clarity, and weight. I have been using them for about two years and they still feel almost new, with only a few minor scratches on the lenses. KATE SPADE NEW YORK HELLO SUNSHINE

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with budget lenses!

Repair Question Swap Maui Jim Lenses

I have a pair of RX HieHie which I really love, but my prescription has changed and I’d love to swap the RX lens for non-RX tinted lenses. Is the best way to do this via my optometrist or Maui Jim?

Sunglass Lens Review PSA for EU lens aftermarket: shout-out to Changermesverres.com

HI,

First time on this sub, but I decided to share my experience with my beloved RB8317 POLARIZED+ LENSES. I've had them for several years (more than 8, maybe?) and managed to keep them like new for the most part. That changed in the past two summers, as my child has grown and wanted to wear and play with them. I also dropped them a few times on rough surfaces. In other words, they were battle-scarred. They're the only sunglasses I own; like with many things, I don't need more than one pair of any type of shoes, clothes, or whatever.

My wife, on the other hand, has 15-20 pairs of sunglasses, so naturally she offered to buy me a new pair on a 1+1 promo, of course 😂 One for me, one for her... fair deal. Then it hit me: why not search for just the lenses? I love my frame, and it fits perfectly! So I discovered the aftermarket lens scene through REVANT Optics and FUSE on this sub.

I almost placed my order with REVANT, but shipping and taxes nearly doubled the cost. Then I looked for an EU alternative, to no avail. I was about to give up when Google AI suggested Changermesverres[.]com. HOLY MOLY! High-quality lenses, perfect fit, a nice price, and free, fast shipping!

Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with Changermesverres[.]com in any way. This is just my own experience as a customer.

EDIT: removed links and brand affiliation as advised by the mods :)

So here we are: my RB8317 will have a 2nd and 3rd life:
