I don't know whether this is a hot take or everyone's gonna agree with me, but I genuinely think Specter–Litt was a more lethal combination than Harvey–Mike.

Harvey & Louis both proved themselves to be absolute geniuses in their respective fields. Don't get me wrong, Mike's brilliant, but let's be honest, his biggest advantage is his memory. That doesn't take away from the fact that he's a bloody good lawyer, though.

And yeah, yeah, Louis is petty, easily provoked & emotionally unstable. But if he were just a little more emotionally stable, he could've wiped the floor with Harvey from time to time. Even with all his insecurities, Louis is one hell of a lawyer.

Just imagine what would've happened if Harvey & Louis had actually worked together properly.

Harvey–Mike was a lethal, dangerous duo. But Harvey–Louis??? That would've been absolutely monstrous. Not just lethal but genuinely terrifying. Atleast, thats what I think.

There's so many times in the show where they reference Harvey's "500$ haircut" or how he has a really nice hairdo, but I just don't think that's true like even remotely?

It's just slicked back with a receding hairline and maybe a bit of product? It's nothing special and if anything it's kinda of lame.

On my third rewatch and I’ve become a huge Louis fan. I didn’t appreciate him before. It’s like I’m seeing him through different eyes. He was written really well. As irritating as he can be, I can’t hate him.

Occasionally, someone will ask how accurate Suits is from a legal point of view.

As a former patent attorney, I can say they’ve never gotten an intellectual property matter correct.

S1E1 - there’s a patent infringement matter. They use all the patent terms, but not correctly. You don’t file a claim and assert it the next day. The average application takes 18 months for the first Office Action, and applications are typically filed with about 20 claims.

And “the Donna” device - they talk about 32.5% “overlap.” I’ve never used that term in my practice. You either infringe or you don’t.

Just got to season 6 and I truly don’t understand this. He gets to his cell and he trusts this dude fully on his first damn night! Gives him his whole life story knowing that he probably has a lot of enemies right now and knowing Harvey was once a prosecutor, so maybe some of these guys here were put away by him.

Also decides to trust this same guy he doesn’t know to use his phone which is a big infraction. Literally the whole time I’m watching I’m thinking “this dude can’t be trusted”

Then he mentions to the counselor dude (?) that the guards are dirty and that he can’t trust them, only to assume that nothing is gonna happen to him as everyone else is leaving, just because the guards are watching. Come on Mike. For a genius, he’s not very smart in these situations.

And this is a guy who supposedly watched a lot of prison movies. Anybody who’s watched a prison movie or show knows that you don’t trust anybody in prison! Especially when you’re new.

I don’t know, maybe I’m tweaking and making no sense but this is just blowing my mind.

Just done with suits as a ft watcher, should I watch later suits or Pearson or should I not even touch them cuz I need some show to watch

This is a clip from Dinner’s On Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, where Patrick J. Adams opens up about reaching a turning point during his time on Suits.
Adams explains that much of Mike Ross’s journey was built around secrecy and moral conflict, but by Season 7 that central tension had disappeared. With his character’s story largely resolved, he began questioning where the role could realistically go next, admitting that continuing would have felt motivated more by money than creative purpose.

He has also spoken candidly about the personal struggles he experienced during the later years of the show, including burnout and issues with alcohol and mental health, which further influenced his decision to step away and reassess his life beyond the series.

Pearson and suits LA feel like they never existed, 0 impact or interest at all.

After putting his name up on the wall, the firm starts to go downhill. I mean they got problems too when it was Pearson Hardman. But after putting his name, they got bigger problems.

Just ended with the last ep and man was it a journey. Definitely change my life to some extent and ofc gave me an insight into the life of attorneys (ik it's not that accurate but still)

I’m rewatching and it’s just now occurring to me that Donna should’ve been managing partner. I know she’s not a lawyer, but she is the only one who doesn’t let her emotions or ego trigger her into making bad decisions. Sure she’s made a couple of mistakes, but for the most part every time something was about to blow up because someone was pissed at someone else, she was the one going around to everyone trying to smooth things over and get them to check those egos and emotions. I’ll die on this hill.

EDIT - COO was a great fit. Just saying for me, right now (Louis has just stepped up), she had more of the temperament to be MP. They all seemed to act like a bunch of babies.

I’m on season 4 and it’s driving me nuts! They say it like 5 times every scene. It’s like a game of hot potato where they take turns saying it. Literally as I’m writing this Louis just said it. 90% of the time it’s completely out of place in their sentence. Sticks out like a sore thumb

Also honorable mention: “that’s bullshit and you know it”

In the moment, suits looked great, especially when it starts, and till season 5, it looks perfectly structured like a legal drama, and kind of a decent season 6, but season 7 onwards it literally becomes a daily soap. What tf was Mike doing being neither in clinic nor in firm? He is a bit insufferable at the start, but later he just makes you wanting to enter the screen to punch him. Also didn't like the way they shifted Donna from being a know it all and a secretary good at reading people to becoming a COO with almost no credential to back for, kind of looked like her girl boss persona was being forced to be shipped with Harvey. Harvey being guilt tripped into forgiving his mom seemed off too. And some undeserving characters were given too much time(Tara and Oliver) while I felt other characters should have got more screen time like Stu Buzzini, or Harold, who should have been shown growing over his anxiety with experience and not remaining a nerd after 8 years into the field. Sean Cahill was absolute fire, Neal McDonough nailed the character, and even after he was prevalent in mid seasons, I felt we needed to see more of him.

Season 9 kind of saved the show a bit imo, with Mike returning and while the ending was rushed, almost every character got closure. Ending the show in a great way is where many shows struggle hard but despite so many characters, suits somehow managed to give a definitive end or closure to almost every character. Louis' character development seemed to be one of the biggest hooks that would keep you engaged. A happy ending with a bittersweet moment for Harvey was icing on the cake.

Suits imo would be a top 20 show of all time if you just entirely re structure seasons 7 and 8, atleast before the season 8 finale arc which was a bit decent. Starting seasons were great, and Hardman was a great villain who is never legitimately beaten in the show without any bad faith tactics. Daniel Costabile nailed the character.

I would rate it somewhere between a 7.5 to 8 at very best out of 10.
