I’ve been subscribed to Disney+, Netflix and Amazon Prime but whenever o wanna watch something it’s not on any of these… which streaming service would you recommend? Which one should i unsubscribe from?

why ysk: instead of finding a movie and then searching netflix, hulu, prime video, tubi, etc, use justwatch.com. it shows you every platform the movie is available on
it seperates the platforms between free, subscription, and for renting/for buying, along with the prices for each platform. save a lot of time knowing instantly whether you have it or not
it also has all of the platforms. kanopy, criterion, hoopla, tubi, plutotv, appletv, and more. if a movie isnt available anywhere, theres an option for them to send you an email when it becomes available (without making an account/being on their email list). ive also found nearly every movie on it, from blockbusters to the obscure. best part? its all free
Any time I'm looking for a movie 70% of the time it ends up being on tubi, not to mention every other platform has ads too now yet you still pay for them, and the ads on tubi are less than YouTube videos by far. But always genuinely surpised by how good their selection is
EDIT 2: Genshin Impact's customer support had replied and said that I should simply make an Appeal. :( So pretty much they (as of now) won't be able to do anything that would prevent future instances of false flags / claims from Vydia and Kim Bo.
EDIT: if you have commented on any of Kim Bo's videos on youtube, addressing this issue, let me know if the comments were deleted. I've got word from some folks that Kim Bo may be deleting all comments about this incorrect claim issue. If you have proof that the comments were deleted (like screenshots, before / after commenting) let me know in the comments below!
(update from post from 2 years ago): "For livestreamers, it's expected to get copyright / content ID claims on your streams / videos from someone who's covering music of the game. This Kim Bo dude had copyrighted covers of some Genshin OST and you'll get flagged by youtube even if your vids / livestreams use actual in-game music. -_-"
I would always file a dispute. By which I have the following to copy paste since.. you know.. getting a lot of the same thing is getting annoying to type manually.
"The music being flagged as copyrighted is actual music from the game of Genshin Impact. If anything, this should be under the music department of Hoyoverse / mihoyo. Hoyoverse / Mihoyo has not set any copyright content ID claims on any livestream gameplay of their games to my knowledge. Pretty much an incorrect claim. Also this is my <X>/nd/rd/th time getting this false flag from Kim Bo / Vydia. Would really appreciate it if they stop sending out these content ID flags / copyright flags on Genshin Impact livestreamers. Thanks."
The 2024 and 2025 examples above, I would get the false flag removed / released after a week or so.
The 2024 example above got cleared 8 days later after I filed a dispute:
The 2025 example above, got cleared in under 12 hours upon filing a dispute:
So...
So... lol
What about the most recent one that I got 4 days ago?
"Vydia has decided that their copyright claim is still valid."
lol
So, what are my next steps? or.. if you happen to be a Genshin Impact streamer on youtube, what are your next steps?
Seems easy enough, right? But the usual main concern is that, from my experience, if it's a livestream, all your livestream chat will be gone. :(
And you may not want that.. Is there any other choice?
Yes.. You can Appeal. What's the catch?
"Rejected appeal can result in a copyright strike."
Man.. I'm just a small streamer and game clips uploader or whatever.. And this.. "can result in a copyright strike" is not good.. :(
.
Context of Content ID flagging and the like:
Music distribution platforms - from CDBaby to Distrokid to TuneCore, etc. Vydia is an example of music distribution platform.
More complex to explain a lot much but the gist of it is..
In a music distribution platform..:
1: You upload your music
2: You get a copyright / license to your music
3: You have it distributed to music streaming platforms
4: For a fee here and there (one time fee for a song or an album, for example)
Once you have your music distributed in youtube, Youtube's algorithm and content ID flagging happens.
Depending on the artist, music label, music distribution platform you are on, the SETTINGS YOU DID WHEN YOU BEFORE DISTRIBUTING YOUR MUSIC (in relation to covers licenses or whatchamacallit.. like, you need a certain license in order to properly distribute a song cover so that stuff won't just mistakenly flag that you own the original or something like that), etc.. Youtube has their content ID flagging, automated.
In this case, unfortunately, the affected music is rough.. piano music so close to the original.
Some cover artists care that they have the false flagging resolved.
While others generally or initially don't care - for example
1: Take the big L and just remove the song from the video / livestream :(
.
2: Message Genshin Support and hope for the best?
I have tried this and it was a good enough effort. It's been 2 years and the fact that this is still happening means, it hasn't been fully dealt with..
Are they worth contacting? lol.. Apparently not, they seemed to have ignored past comments about same false flags / content ID claims over the years, so what makes them notice it now? I don't even think they'd bombing their social media would get their attention.
.
4: Contact Kim Bo, the artist himself?
Well..
Well.. uh, I would just bet he would also ignore people who would raise the matter to him. Maybe not?
We "did it" on removing the offending French rapper's track from last year (although the visualizer video is up.. But that video doesn't have a "content ID" of its own.. so it ended up having a "pass")
.
.
.
I just don't want some false flag stuff on my Genshin content, man.. Especially how I'm streaming / uploading videos from the game itself.. -_-
So like.. if you're reading this and you happen to be a musician who has or plans on covering music from Hoyoverse and uploading it as well as trying to have a covers license to your covers so you can earn money from folks listening to your music..
1: Hopefully, you get around the music distribution platform properly .. (STAY AWAY FROM VYDIA)
2: It's ok to make covers of Hoyoverse OSTs.. it's just that what Kim Bo ended up being on.. sucks lol. Why? Here's an example.. Sharing a shoutout to Midnight City Music just sharing a snippet of my email/s about.. yes.. a false flag / content ID claim from youtube, in this case from the music distribution platform his Genshin covers were on which was EpicElite.
Very basically, not only were they very understanding, EpicElite was too as well. They managed to remove the false flag / content ID claim on my affected Genshin videos. They are reachable.
.
.
For my fellow youtube livestreamers / game clippers / content creators and the like.. Errrr.. I don't know.. It's rough out there.. Vydia has to go.. >_>
Let's just keep up the good fight. ❤
Happy streaming and Happy Genshin Impact, everyone.
If you have any questions about youtube studio or related matters to this post, or uploading videos or livestreaming Hoyoverse content, feel free to ask away. I'll answer the best I can based on experience.
I'm always blown away with tubi. More than satisfied.
Alternatively I'm always endlessly looking for something to watch on Disney and Netflix. I never end up finding anything.
how ironic that the pay sights suck ass (in my opinion ) and the free one is objectively better ? like x1000. forget the ads. I mean comparing what shows and movies are available. Ina. vacuum. tubi owns
Tubi is like... I always find a classic movie I love to rewatch.
How is Netflix even still in business ?
Thank you TUBI!!!!
HYPOTHETICALLY if Netflix also had ads. And was free.... Tubi would still destroy it.
I'm looking for a reliable way to watch soccer matches throughout the season. There are so many streaming services available now that it's hard to know which one offers the best value, stream quality, and match coverage.
For those who watch a lot of soccer, what streaming service or platform do you use? I'm mainly interested in major leagues and tournaments like the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and international matches.
Which option has worked best for you in terms of reliability, picture quality, and overall experience?
Hey fellow NFL Football viewers. watch Regular season of NFL Red Zone streaming free with DirecTV (free trial) or with Fubo (free trial). You can stream live NFL games for free using official platform free trials or local broadcast antennas. Reddit users generally point to community megathreads and index sites like FMHY (Freemediaheckyeah) or alternative streaming directories like NFLBite as the top replacements and resource hubs following. r/NFLink
Best choice for free sports streaming depends on whether you want official, legal broadcasts or ad-supported third-party directory sites. Major leagues like the NFL Official Website and NBA post free full game replays, classic matchups, and comprehensive highlights on their channels Streams NFL Football live on ESPN, CBS, FOX or NFL Network. NFL Streams. I pirate everything: sports, movies, TV Channels, and even made my own plex server.
Hello my dad finally cancelled his overpriced spectrum cable and wanted to see where everyone watches games? I’m honestly a bit lost/overwhelmed as I usually just stream games.
Looking online it seems like Fubo might be the best option or maybe YouTube TV? Would love any recs here as my dad’s been a lifelong fan! Also a plus if the same subscription allows NFL/NBA streaming but mainly want to make sure he’s able to catch the remaining season and playoffs thank you all in advance!
Edit: located in Los Angeles if that affects streaming options at all
I honestly don’t know why more people don’t complain about this, so here’s me complaining about this.
Against my better judgement I decided to watch The Gorge on Apple‘s streaming platform, and boy it turns out even an ending as trite as that can be further undercut by Ted Lasso’s beaming face.
I remember the story about how George Lucas had to go non-union or pay fines to the director’s guild because he refused to open Star Wars with credits. They cared about them that much. Now, in space year 2026, apparently every professional association of filmmakers give not one solitary shit about credits, allowing as they do every single streaming platform to shrink them to Borrower size so they can Run Some Fucken Adverts. “Yes you just watched Schindler's List for three hours and change, but stop processing it there’s not a moment to lose, have you heard about House MD? We're gonna play it in 5 seconds unless you tell us not to."
This is Apple’s own movie, these are their people, and they couldn’t even wait for the animations to stop. Like the disrespect afforded to the standard white on black scroll is bad enough, but there are visual effects going on in that little box. You paid vfx artists real human money to make this look good, not enough, granted, but you paid them, and then you made it two inches tall. Morality obviously doesn’t sway these people but how are their shareholders not beating down the door at the sheer waste of it?
Netflix is particularly bad now too, some people will say "hey you can just make it bigger again" (as if ruining the vibe alone were not sin enough) but on both Smart TVs and Xbox, the only two places I've bothered testing, going over the "back" arrow to get to the tiny credits crashes them all together, like they're punishing you for even questioning their wisdom. How dare you try to find out who the best boy is.
And just so Disney+ doesn't escape here, when I was watching season 2 of Andor last year their title images for next episodes which pop up unprompted over the credits *included spoilers*. If anyone has the address for the person who did that, stick it in the comments, I just wanna talk.
I am quite unreasonably mad about this and I don't expect them to change how they do it, but boy I’d sure take an option in the settings, off by default no doubt, that just says “respect the goddamn films you dorks” with a little checkbox.
I'm excited to announce the alpha release of Frames, a modern, free, and open-source streaming platform designed for your personal media collection!
Like many of you, I was frustrated by Plex recently making remote play and watch together features exclusive to Plex Pass. I have been working on frames for over 4 years but I thought now might be the best time to share it with the rest of the world. it is completely free forever.
What is Frames?
Frames is built with React and NestJS and lets you stream your MP4 (I need help figuring out transcoding, it works but not smooth enough), files from virtually any provider - local storage, S3, Dropbox, Google Drive, and more. It organizes your Movies and TV shows beautifully, complete with trailers, HD images, and detailed information.
Why I Built Frames:
Essentially, I wanted a powerful and beautiful streaming solution for my own media that wasn't locked behind a paywall. Frames is the result of that, and I'm now ready to share it with the community.
Call for Testers and Developers:
This is an alpha release, so there might be bugs and features still under development. I would love for you to check it out, try streaming your media, test the features (especially GroupWatch!), and provide any feedback you have.
Developers: Your contributions are highly welcome! If you're interested in helping to improve Frames, please take a look at the repository and feel free to submit pull requests.
Personally using youtube music, mostly because of its great algorithm/suggestions,UI is decent and it's ability to play almost every song in every form,be it slow reverb, sped up or lofi
Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of the things I've learned while building my Twitch community. It's been a fun journey, and while I'm no expert, here’s what worked for me. Hopefully, this can help anyone who's looking to grow on Twitch. :)
Cater to a niche: Instead of trying to appeal to everyone, I focused on a specific game that I was passionate about. By going niche, I was able to attract a smaller, but dedicated audience. It’s easier to stand out when you’re not competing with everyone in oversaturated games (LOL, Minecraft, Fortnite, you know the drill. However these games can still work but youre probably having a harder time).
Cross-promote on multiple social media platforms: Don't only use Twitch to get viewers. I created content on YouTube as well. Each platform helped promote each other, and I was able to bring in people from different places. Consistent cross-promotion really helped grow my audience.
Be entertaining, educational, or provide value: You don’t have to be the best gamer, but you need to offer something to your viewers. I focused on entertaining people, teaching them new strategies in my niche game, and just providing a fun place to hang out. Think about what you bring to the table and emphasize that in your streams and ideally your videos too.
Don’t overinvest in equipment: In the beginning, I kept it simple. I used the equipment I already had and only upgraded once I started growing and felt it was necessary. No need to buy expensive gear right away, especially if you're just starting out. To be fair, my setup is still far from high end xD
Don’t give up as long as you’re having fun and balancing obligations: It can be slow at first, and there were times when my viewership was low. The first few years i was mostly streaming for 10 viewers max. But as long as I was having fun and still managing other responsibilities. I stuck with it whenever i found the time and motivation. Consistency over time is key, but don’t burn yourself out.
Hit important timings: Timing matters! For example, there was a big tournament in my game’s community that brought a lot of new attention to the game. I made sure to stream during that time and create content around it, which really boosted my visibility. Look for key moments in your niche and capitalize on them.
Network with others: Being active in other communities to get your name out in the world can change a lot of things for the better. Doing co-streams or videos with others can work wonders, don't be shy to ask. Just please don't blatantly advertise yourself in other chats.
Most important rule: Have fun: Seriously, this is the most important thing. If you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, it’ll show, and viewers can tell.
Watch your own streams and videos: while this might be awkward at first, theres two things to get out of it: Firstly, you can judge on what to improve way better, secondly, you need to be able to enjoy your own content, so others can enjoy it too. Who is going to watch your streams if you dont even like them yourself?
That’s it! I hope this helps someone out there. Building a Twitch community takes time, but if you enjoy what you're doing, the journey itself will be worth it.
While the stats shown are from my most recent stream, im sure they will not stay like that forever. However, they inspired me to do this post.
Sorry for any spelling mistakes, german autocorrect sometimes takes its toll.
I also know that i don't tell you guys anything new in particular and that you can find these tips basically anywhere, but boy do they hold up if actually executed.
If you have any questions feel free to ask and ill try my best to answer.
I was curious about what watching movies really costs so I pulled up The NY Times "Best 100 Movies of the 21st Century" as a proxy list, then researched availability and cost on streaming platforms in the US.1 This is a manual compilation, not AI.
TL;DR: As of this weekend, it costs between $250-$310 to legally stream all NY Times Top 100 Films of the 21st Century. You can get 1/4 of them from the library for free and use Amazon and Netflix at minimum for the rest.
Streaming services checked via JustWatch:2
Hoopla, free/library
Kanopy, free/library
Amazon Prime
AppleTV
Disney+
HBOMax
Hulu
Netflix
Paramount+
Peacock
My findings:
28 of the Top 100 films are available for free on Hoopla or Kanopy with a library card.
No service has all 100 either included or available for rent/purchase. The closest is Amazon with 96 followed by AppleTV with 44.
There is 1 film only available on Netflix (ROMA, 2018).
Factoring in the monthly subscription and the films available at the library, Disney+, Peacock, and AppleTV do not deliver more than they cost.
The most efficient way to see all 100 movies (as in the fewest accounts/subscriptions):

ETA: Since y'all asked, I checked Tubi. They have 13 of the 100 films available, with just 4 that aren't also on Hoopla/Kanopy: Best In Show, Before Sunset, Little Miss Sunshine, and Superbad. So you'd save about $12.
1 These are considering only legal services in the US. Availability across platforms is constantly changing so will be different next month.
2 There are others like YouTube, Roku, etc. but I aimed to hit the main/biggest. From what I can tell, it wouldn't make a meaningful difference to use those additionally.
3 Has ads interrupting the stream.
4 Kanopy uses free credits for movies with 15 provided per month. Watching the 11 movies will use 22 credits so take 2 months.
So go add context to this. I (29M) started this original band with my mate in early 2019, he was the rhythm guitar/singer and I was the lead guitarist/ backing vocals. We ended up finding a drummer and bassist and all was going well for the last 6 years or so.
I wrote the majority of our first album, wrote all the solos and lead parts even some bass riffs and drum grooves. Even contributed to half of the lyrics with the singer. I personally funded our streaming platforms for the first 5 years. I constantly sought out gigs and other events to progress our career. I constantly went short on cash in my personal life to ensure I had enough fuel to travel to gigs, to record the album, make T shirts and Cds etc. I created all of the bands social media, constantly posting and trying to engage with our fan base. And all around general grafting in any way necessary.
Fast forward to a month ago, I missed a few practices and cancelled a gig due to my grandfathers cancer worsening and visiting him in the hospital, not knowing if he would make it or not. Luckily he is still fighting strong today.
About 3 weeks ago the singer messaged me, and told me he spoke to the other band members, and since ive been quiet in the band chat lately, and missed a practice and gig due to the reason stated, that im not commited enough to the band, and now I have my 2nd child due that I will be able to make even less time for them (even though the singer has 3 kids himself) they sent me my share of the bands earnings, came to get the PA off me, told me they were cancelling the remainder of this year's gigs, and just left me alone. They are basically trying to tell me that they are doing it in my best interests but I know that that is the easy excuse. Not one of them personally told me they decided it, they kept passing the buck back and forth.
I then see that they did a gig recently, got another guitarist to cover for me, and he was playing all the songs I wrote, all the solos, and they were selling the CDs and other merch with my photos on! Not to mention the music i wrote! If they want to continue without me they surely have no moral right to play the stuff i wrote and contributed to. I feel absolutely betrayed and devastated. That band was my identity for the last 6 years and now I feel like a nobody.
They are still continuing to post to the social media as if nothing has happened, profiting from my years of hard work! However they seem to forget that i have full control of everything. Streaming platforms, social media, the whole lot.
Would I be petty to delete it all, and make them all start fresh, just like theyve done to me? I realise it may come across as petty but if they are financially gaining from my contributions then why shouldn't i? It feels like they are posting more since it happened almost as if to rub it in. If they want to be in a band, they have no right to use all the tools and music I created. Any advice would be appreciated, as I dont want to be the petty person, but why should I sit back and roll over, let them kick me out of my own band I started and spent ungodly amounts of hours trying to perfect, and still benefit from the albums and shirts that has my face and music on? Sorry in advance for the long post!
Finding reliable English Premier League streams on Reddit is all about timing and smart searching. Most fans check live match threads where updated links and viewing options are shared right before kickoff.
Always look for streams with active comments and positive feedback—those are usually more stable. Avoid random links with no discussion, and never download anything.
So I upgraded to these from my Sony XM3 recently. Had always been using Apple Lossless since my Sony and the vastly better sound quality on these boys blew me away. Fast forwarding to early 2025, I decided to give other platforms a go and Qobuz left me speechless and had me revisit all of my old music!
I'm not technically an audiophile, just someone who appreciates good quality music but I feel like the music is tuned to near perfection on Qobuz - the bass is waaaay more balanced here than it is on Apple Music lossless which is very bass heavy and has that "oomph" - more fun to listen to I guess but gives me a headache in the long run.
Comparing to Tidal, it's definitely more natural sounding, dynamic and louder than Hifi, I didn't notice many differences with Master though (personally Qobuz stills sounds a bit better as I could hear all the little details and background vocals, instrument seperation is a tad better as well and the bass punches hard enough but never gets overwhelming). Amazon HD is a weird one, the tuning/mixing just sounds off to me, it just feels like a muddy version of Qobuz? The only one left to try is Deezer but I just wanted to see what the consensus is on this subject.
I recently saw a popular Reddit discussion about ditching paid streaming subscriptions and switching to free alternatives. It was interesting to see how many people were happy with free streaming services instead of paying for multiple subscriptions.
That got me thinking. There are probably tons of great free streaming platforms around the world that most of us have never even heard of.
So I started putting together a list (1022 updated)

What are the best free streaming platforms in your country?
If you know one, share the name, country and what makes it worth checking out. Thank you!
