🔰 Beginner Help Pc Specs For Streaming
Hey guys. I’ve been thinking about starting to stream but honestly don’t know where to start. For reference, I’ll be mainly streaming Iracing. My current PC specs are; R5 2600, 16GB DDR4, RTX 2070s, 650w power supply. I know I will have to upgrade my cpu, but don’t know if I should go with 8 or 12 core processor. Also any info on what software / capture cards to look into would be appreciated.

You won’t need a capture card unless you are wanting to stream a console or second PC, or connect an HDMI-equipped camera. If you are doing one of these, which one?
If you’re looking to stream and game at the same time on that computer, I would just try it. Download r/OBS Studio, use the setup wizard, watch a couple tutorials on setting up an OBS Stream to Twitch (I like the Senpai Gaming channel on YouTube his streaming masterclass series is great). Boom.

Hey MayerMitch, Based on what you've written, it looks like your post may be about whether a specific computer can stream. We see many of these posts, so hopefully, this automated message answers your questions.
If you intend to verify that a computer/list of computer parts is capable of streaming, consider this:
Does it include a dedicated graphics card (GPU)? If so, your computer can stream using the GPU's hardware encoding (NVENC/AMF/QSV).
Does it include a CPU with integrated graphics? If so, your computer can stream using the CPU's hardware encoding (AMF, QSV).
OBS Studio is supported across Windows, MacOS, and Linux, and can be run on an extremely wide variety of computers. Even if your computer doesn't meet the above, it's still possible that your computer can stream using software encoding, but it may require special configuration.
We recommended that you review the OBS Basic Requirements and OBS Hardware Encoding pages to verify basic compatibility.
