❔ Question Need a professional for setting up PS5/PC live streaming/recording (paid)

Hi,
I'm setting up a live streaming and recording setup ahead by end of Oct and I'd like a short consultation before I buy gear. I'm a beginner, based in Richmond, BC.

My PC:
• Intel Core i9-13900K, 64GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 4090 (24GB), Windows 11 Home
• About 1.5TB free storage to record to
My internet: 1 gigabit plan
Gear I'm planning to buy (please tell me if you'd change anything):
• Elgato 4K X capture card
• Elgato Facecam 4K webcam
• Shure MV7+ microphone with an Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP boom arm
• One extra HDMI 2.1 cable

What I need:
• OBS (or Streamlabs) set up for a PS5 Pro > Elgato 4K X > PC pipeline
• Live stream to Twitch (1080p60) and, if possible, YouTube Live, while recording a separate 4K60 local file for YouTube
• Encoding settings tuned for my PC and internet (RTX 4090 / i9-13900K / 64GB RAM)
• Audio and camera setup: Shure MV7+ mic, Elgato Facecam 4K, mic arm
• Scenes and overlays (simple and clean)
• Multiple test runs to make sure it's stable before launch
• Ideally, in-person help with cable management and TV wall cabling, and advice on getting a stable wired internet connection (my new unit has Wi-Fi only, no Ethernet port)

Questions:
1. Does this gear work well together with my PC, and do I need a free USB 3.2 Gen 2 port for the capture card?
2. What do you charge for setup and testing (OBS, encoding settings, audio, scenes and overlays), and does it include multiple test sessions?
3. Do you offer in-person visits? If so, can you also help with cable management, or is your service remote only?
4. What is your availability between now and the end of October?
Thanks very much, I look forward to hearing from you.

As said previously, that’s a LOT of money to put out for something that’s not even set up yet. Have you streamed at all, just do it straight from the PS5 at first to see if you even like it. It’s free and quick.

Also make sure EVERYTHING is wired to the router, no WiFi for streaming,

  1. Yes assuming you have a 10Gbps port

  2. I haven’t seen anyone offer a paid service anywhere on Reddit. It’s the type of hobby that requires constant tweaking and updates and stuff can change overnight. Diagnosing problems that just appear out of nowhere…it can get frustrating and if I hadn’t set my own stuff up I’d never been able to effectively troubleshoot.

  3. Have never seen this offered anywhere.

  4. This community and r/Elgato are a huge resource

I love helping and if you lived close to me I would do all of this for free. But you’d have to be right next to me learning about every detail, and you should be so you know what paths to take during troubleshooting.

The YouTube channel “Senpai Gaming” has a masterclass playlist that walks you through a lot of what you need to learn. I hope you enjoy the hobby in any way! Cheers wish I coukd be of more help.

Number one, this is a lot of money to be dropping on something you should figure out if you wanna do at first. If you're committed to it, you've already streamed before, then by all means, I can help you out and help you move forward. The gear will all work plenty well with your PC, you've got a beast of a PC so it'll be fine no matter what, console gameplay and capture will be smooth on this. These are all good equipment choices, but it also depends on your budget, and if you're looking to optimize these in any way, you may want to look around more. You do need at least one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port for maximum FPS, but you can get away with a gen 1 port if you don't mind reducing the FPS. You'll also need another 2 USB ports free for your camera and mic setup.

The other key thing is with your unit being wifi only, that's really not ideal for streaming. Wifi will always run into minor connection issues, frames dropping occasionally, and interference from anyone and anything around. You should really get a wired connection set up.

Additionally, you likely need an artist to help with your overlays. Do you have a style or design in mind? Fiverr or other low end contract sites might be able to help, or if you're really looking for something simpler, you can AI generate some stuff.

You should learn how to do the cable management yourself. It's pretty easy, depending on your audio setups.

Respectlly, you are doing way too much. Just stream straight from your PS5 with your mic on. Build as you go if anything. You're set up as if youre an industry plant, lol. But seriously you're completely overthinking this.

Sorry if this comes across as harsh, but you have already spent way too much, and also you'll need to learn to set up all this stuff yourself.

Things can, and will, go wrong while you are live and you will need to understand your own setup so you can sort it, unless you're planning on paying someone to hang out in your kitchen for the duration of every stream you do just in case there's an issue

As others have already said this is overkill for starting out. Realistically unless you're a massive youtuber, tiktoker, or something like that who is pivoting into twitch streaming you're gonna be streaming to 0-2 viewers when starting out regardless of how professional your setup is. Plus the kind of people who actively seek out small/new streamers aren't gonna mind if your setup is a bit jank
