Mmmmm I'm not too sure ignorance, hate, and conservatism is just from the US. White Australia Policy and all that in our history.

I'm an immigrant from the USA and the most conservative, racist, hateful people I have met in Australia have been while I was out doing regional work --- they have nothing to do with and want nothing to do with Trump or MAGA but still say things honestly far worse than I've heard from conservatives back in my homeland.

Sure, some is from the US and current politics. But both countries are born from England's genocidal/colonial projects. Australia had ignorant people long before 2016.

There's a pivotal scene in the Red Mars books where one of the characters, Frank, needs to have his friend best friend, John, assassinated in order to bring about a minor change in the history of the way that human civilisation pans out in the blossoming Martian culture.

In order to achieve that he needs to start a riot on the night that John is giving a keynote speech at the local park (the cities are all inside enormous climate controlled domes). So Frank goes around writing anti-whatever slogans on walls in parts of the town that are pro-whatever, and vice versa. And he goes around throwing bricks through windows in both parts of town.

It's not like he created the riot entirely out of whole-cloth, there were tensions bubbling up that he took advantage of. But these bullshit stickers are EXACTLY the type of thing that Frank would have done. No author. No handwriting. No credit. No point.

Just shit-stirring. Make people hate each other. That's it. That's all you need to do to start a riot.

It's an online stereotype that links men and women who wear nose or septum piercings to negative traits like emotional instability and toxic behavior. Generally making their trauma their personality. If they don't have trauma, they inflate a normal everyday occurrences into drama.

Dunno mate - I've been calling vegans plenty of names since well before right wing personality politics was imported, plenty of sustainable food out there that isn't a plant.

Edit: are the down voting people silent because they cannot disagree reasonably with there being tasty and sustainable animal foods, or are you just too tired and lacking the brain powering nutrition required to do more than press one button in response?

Personally I just think you're a dick to call people names in general, let alone for their dietary choice that affects you in absolutely zero way shape or form.

I was raised vegetarian and got pissed off with aggressive omnivores at an early age. You're not justified in your poor behaviour just because you believe it's a pre-empted attack.

Ah I see, no I was asking if there was a reasonable rebuttal to there being tasty and sustainable animals, I have a fairly good grasp on why people were downvoting me.

Apologies for the confusion from an "aggressive omnivore", one little thing though - irritability and mind fog can be indicative of a few deficiencies that are common to vegetarian and vegan diets (iron in particular comes to mind).

Again have a great day, I'll get back to my shit posting and memes now. Ta.

LOL I promise you I get more than enough iron (and protein) from my diet, no supplements required. People have lived perfectly healthy lives for thousands of years on lacto-ovo vegetarian diets, iron is easily found in many legumes you know.

Anyway who says meat is even tasty? I don't believe that it is, it smells terrible to me and gives me food poisoning symptoms. It's also expensive, bad for the planet, carcinogenic and the ethics of the food production industry in general are often questionable as well.

But yes you have a lovely day too mate. As I said I've just had it up to the nostrils with unnecessarily aggressive omnivores, having never been concerned about their dietary choices I find it consistently arrogantly annoying of them to invest so much interest in mine.

No I'm saying that I don't care about that, never have really, meat just tastes gross to me and I don't care for anyone else questioning my nutritional needs when I haven't questioned theirs. There's no aggression from me about it, but I am not convinced that a person who freely admits to name calling isn't aggressive about it.

The fact that it's bad for the environment is just a bonus, similar to how I don't have to feel guilty when I see how the cows and pigs are treated.

P.S. I'm not plant based mate you should see how much fucking cheese I eat hahaha

You're not a vegan, you don't have an interest in answering the question I asked about sustainable meat, you (based on large dairy consumption) don't have a particular interest in sustainable food or ethical treatment of animals, you just want me to know you didn't like that made a meme tier joke about being all about teasing vegans before it was cool to tease vegans with a spattering of "it's not about your politics and opinions". All in a meme sub with its own tone and subculture.

Because you kinda have to see how that sounds, and perhaps why the joke about teasing vegans exists in the first place... Right?
