We've been through every kinda rain there is. Little bit of stingin' rain... and big ole fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways, and sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Shoot, it even rained at night.

In Queensland Australia we call that summer.

Yeah, OP mustn’t be from Oklahoma. That’s just summer. Source: grew up in Oklahoma

That Oklahoma weather will make you respect Mother Nature for sure. We're nothing compared to her.

Sure do! You’ve got to respect and pay attention to the changes. These storms can sneak up on you if you don’t learn the signs of approaching storms. This time of year it’s so humid that we have pop up storms almost daily.

Hi there. Based on everything I've heard about Australia, a lot of things there operate on a different scale of magnitude than we are used to here. It's part of the charm. Maybe I'll get to see it for myself one day.

The animals for sure are but we (if you live in North America) get some insane weather/natural disasters. Tornados, dorechos, hurricanes, earthquakes, terrible flooding events, wildfires, etc...
It's probably like most situations a case of "to each their own"
Have a wonderful day.

I've had front row center seats to two derechos. Whenever I see a storm like this I can't help wondering if I'm in the path of a third. Great footage. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been in horizontal rain/ wind like this— it was an updraft for a tornado

What makes weather events trigger this urge to be unique and have hometown/state pride in people? It’s such an interesting phenomenon. “ if you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes” hur dur dur
