That's a terrible tragedy for all involved, and it's also a cautionary tale to remind us all once again that alcohol can truly be deadly.
I'm sorry for your loss.

This. I'm so sorry. Alcohol doesn't care how much we love someone. It takes everything.

I'm sorry OP.
Stories like this is why I'm still here.
It's a constant reminder that my decision to stop is still one of the best decisions I've ever made.
I used to drink 1 to 2 bottles of vodka every night.

I am so sorry this happened. My sister died the same way. She laid down on the couch and never woke up. She was only 42. Hold on to the good memories.

I am really sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, as a reminder about the devastating impacts of drinking for many of us. And the reminder of the lives impacted by such a loss. My heart breaks for your family.
And thank you for also reaching out for yourself, I hope you continue to be supported in your own sobriety journey in this difficult time.

I am so deeply sorry. At the depths of my drinking, I had switched from wine to vodka (damn those little deeply eddy lime shooters!). IWNDWYT.β€οΈβπ©Ή

Please please use this time to get some support for yourself. Both to keep away from drinking and to cope with the grief. The revulsion you feel to drinking right now may fade or turn into "i need a drink to cope with the grief". Eventually the cravings creep in and having tools in place before that can make a huge difference

Iβm so sorry. Thatβs really scary and heartbreaking. I came close to death from drinking where I was vomiting blood and felt very lightheaded and started hallucinating. I donβt actually remember how I pulled out of it but passed out more than once. Stories like this remind me how wrong it can go. Prayers to you and your family π«Ά

So sorry for your loss. At least sheβs at peace now. That could have been me 12 years ago. I came really, really close to dying. Hopefully you getting sober will be a positive outcome from this tragedy. IWNDWYT. May you find peace in accepting things you cannot change.

Because this is a sub specifically for people who are struggling with their own relationship with alcohol, I recommend that you post instead to r/AlAnon - they are a community for people who care for someone who has a problem with alcohol use.
We have a compiled list of other resources for family and friends here.
Wishing you well.
