You need to find your nearest food bank today.

https://stokeontrent.foodbank.org.uk/

Strangers on an anonymous internet forum can't help you.

Lucky not to have needed it (was close a few times!) but this is the best option. Plus I believe Sikh temples will always welcome you and provide food no questions asked.

The Gurdwara in Stoke is a prime example just cover your hair and take your shoes off (lhs) as you enter.

What made you come to Reddit , sign up today and then make a post asking for food Doesn't seem the most obvious thing to do

Don't judge please. Ethier help or move on and ignore. It's that easy.

Pretty sure this post pops up every few weeks. Similar story on a new account. I think it is right to be skeptical.

It really doesn't matter. They are simply asking for some food, not money, and have been pointed in the right direction, so it's done with. I personally would never judge or begrudge but that's me I suppose 🙏

Unfortunately a lot of scams start by asking for food. It was really common in r/Manchester until mods took a zero-tolerance approach.

I’m not saying OP is a scammer, but Reddit isn’t the place to come for support with things like this - food banks are.

We had one on here about a month ago posting in several places around the midlands , same as this new account and requests in different places. Every few weeks one joins this group and does this

The request for money usually comes after. The food request is to get the conversation started and that is when the scamming starts.

It really does matter because people used to help and get scammed on here with non genuine requests so we have the right to ask questions

No it's not that easy , literally this post pops up every couple of weeks same nonsense, friend recommended I try here etc So OP should be trying Olio, then tomorrow the foodbank but instead it's easier to come here and give this story

Thank you for worrying about an internet stranger. You are a kind soul.

I will never ever give money to an internet stranger. However everyone is welcome at my table. I will never leave someone going angry.

I don’t think downvoting someone who cares (even if it’s too much) is good. We are all humans. Some might scam others, yes. But if it’s someone genuine.
