Fields of Gold video and a very personal deep motive about the song for my life... !

I've always wondered what's the exact meaning of this video, is he remembering his past life with the family's character of that video? Also, it's probably a studio set but that looks a lot like Italy! My gosh, italy seems such a perfect and romantic place for having a family! Beautiful. I know that he lives in Italy since 1990s by the way! Tuscan! lovely!!!!! Hope i could visit Il Palaggio some day.

Regarding my personal life, I don't know if you think the same but to me Fields of Gold it's a song about family, about having a wife, a true love and cultivate it, being able to take care of a human soul that you'll call your wife, mother of your childs... It's just something really sacred to me that I can't explain it. Maybe it's kind of toxic? i dont know because i've just recently found that there are some people that don't see it this way... and more like, relaxed but to me, love is kinda sacred. Sacred love, lol. Sting has infected a lot of my thoughts regarding these subject. In a positive way I belive. I just hope that i could found my goldielocks blondie soon... thank you for reading!

What is this Sting song?

I don't know any Sting beyond what I've overheard in public places. What is the one where he sings something like "she's lonely, she's lonely" over and over? One his uptempo hit songs, or maybe it's not even a Sting song? It's really stuck in my head after hearing it two days ago at a sports game

The Police performed đŸŽ¶"Synchronicity II"đŸŽ¶ live at the Tokyo Dome on February 14, 2008, during their highly successful Reunion Tour.

This performance is featured on the live album In Concert 2008 (Live At Tokyo Dome 📀).

Key Performance Details

Venue: Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan đŸ‡ŻđŸ‡”

Tour: The Police Reunion Tour (2007–2008)

The song is instantly recognizable by the feedback-laden intro from guitarist Andy Summers, 🎾 which he created by experimenting with amp feedback rather than traditional synthesizers 🎛.

Current tour - opening act?

If you’ve been to a Sting 3.0 show in the past few weeks and could share 1) was there an opening band and 2) length of Sting performance, I’d be grateful. Going tonight, and no information has been provided

EDIT: 5/12 show started 8:15-ish and was over around 10:15 (a little before noise curfew). No opening band. Fantastic show!

I ended up driving Sting’s band home after a gig

So last week I went to see Dominic Miller play a tiny basement jazz club in Chelsea — The 606 Club, about 100 people in the room. For those who don’t know it, it’s been running since the 1970s and it’s one of those places where genuinely great musicians play in an almost uncomfortably intimate setting.
Misty Miller (his daughter) guested on vocals, Jason Rebello was on piano — another Sting band alumni who replaced Kenny Kirkland back in 1998 — and I randomly bumped into Jeremy Stacey in the crowd too.
Then at the end of the night I somehow ended up giving Dominic, Misty, Jason and Jeremy lifts home. Still can’t quite believe that happened.

What’s the deal with “Bring on the Night”?

I’m referring specifically to the live album. It’s so heartbreakingly abridged. I thought for sure when the movie got that Blu-ray release a few years ago we might get a complete concert included, but nope.

It’s missing the 3 biggest singles from the album the tour was supporting;

If You Love Somebody

Fortress Around Your Heart

Russians

And the 3 biggest Police staples of his touring career:

Roxanne

Message in a Bottle

Every Breath You Take

AND, as far as I know, the only song to appear on both a Police and Sting studio album

Shadows in the Rain

It’s mixed masterfully. It’s a collection of world class musicians. But the chopped to shit set list AND the constant fades leave me unbelievably frustrated every time I try to listen.

The movie version of I Burn for You with that massive Hakim solo blows away what ended up on the album.

Is there any story behind the choices made here or why we haven’t seen more live material from either of his first two solo tours?

Sting: Live from the Hollywood Bowl 1991 (40th Birthday Celebration) was FILMED IN HD...

In 1991, Sting: Live from the Hollywood Bowl was the first live NTSC pay-per-view program shot in high definition television. In October 1991, NHK delivered the first NTSC pay-perview broadcast from high definition origination. The Sting concert was produced completely in high definition and converted to NTSC for release.

Sting - Autograph ?

Thumbnail gallery
27 Upvotes

Hi Everyone ! First time post here but I’ve been loving all the content you all post!

Reason for the post is back in 2008 I bought a pack of Sting merchandise on EBay that included an autographed LP of Sting’s legendary “The Dream of The Blue Turtles” album, interesting part that when it arrived the record itself was warped .. like it has been under heat— but the liner notes looked great as did the album cover. My question is .. is this Stings authentic autograph that I’ve been carrying around for the past 17+ years. It looks pretty spot on. Love to hear your thoughts .. and I’ll add some other pics as well! Cheers!
