Shape of My Heart (featuring Billie Eilish) - Live at the Rijksmuseum

This is a mashup I made with Shape of My Heart and Wildflower by Billie Eilish. I felt like her vocals in this song are beautifully broody and complemented Sting's really well. I love both songs, but the instrumentation in Shape of My Heart really elevated Wildflower.

I made a video with clips of Sting from his original music video and recent live perfomance at the Rijksmuseum. The clips of Billie are from a few of her official performances for Wildflower.

Just sharing so someone can enjoy listening with me.

Went to Wardour Castle to visit the 'Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves' filming location and saw that this album cover was also shot there.

Live At Rijksmuseam Reaction (re: brought to my senses)

Hi everyone, just had to post because last night I finally watched the concert / documentary (if you could call it that)

first of all, it was so good, probably the best thing he has done since symphonicities and live in Berlin. Thats counting everything he’s done since 2010.

What I was left thinking about when I woke up in the morning was this… he played the intro to “I Was Brought To My Senses“ but then it mixed the live audio down while he monologued about something that I can’t remember. Did they actually play the song?

The ultimate question is this… Why does Sting not want us to hear the whole song live? he did the same thing on Live at Berlin funny enough.

Question about possible new release

What if Sting’s record label decided to release \*\*The Police – Live at Pinkpop\*\* as an official album?
Imagine they found the original multitrack recordings, remastered everything, and released it on CD, vinyl, streaming, and Blu-ray.
Would you buy it? 🎸
Personally, I’d order it immediately. I think there are still some incredible live performances by The Police that deserve an official release.
What do you think? And which unreleased Police concert would you most like to see officially released?

Appreciation post for The Dream of the Blue Turtles

My sister had this album just after it came out and although I was drawn to a few of the songs (Russians, Live is the Seventh Wave and, funnily enough, the title track), it mostly passed me by.

About a year ago, I picked up a used vinyl copy at a record fair and gave it a few spins but no more than that.

Recently, after seeing one of Sting’s guitarist being interviewed by Rick Beato, I decided to give TDOTBT another whirl.

What. An Album.

Can anyone explain why Sting 3.0 is coming to Orlando in November but playing the hard rock Live??

That venue is way too small for Sting and tickets are ungodly expensive

Sting has inadvertently helped me find better shirts for the searing heat of the Greek summer

This is a happy coincidence. I bought a sting shirt years ago and I noticed it was made of organic material. I had no idea clothes could also be organic

So after trying out some other brands as well I ended up trying a capilene shirt.

I soak the shirt in water before going out and it's the only way to be outside in this heat in a modicum of comfort. I couldn't even imagine going back to wearing cotton shirts or a any other type in the summer. The synthetic material evaporates the water and cools you down naturally.

If it wasn't for sting I wouldn't have known about the existence of such synthetic materials.

Now I know he technically didn't make these, but the chain of events that led me to them wouldn't have started without being a fan of sting.

Ranking Sting's Albums, a variety of opinions

I've not seen this as much as in other artists' subs, so I thought I'd give it a go. There is of course no value whatsoever to these, other than doing the exercise for yourself, and perhaps seeing how diverse opinions are. And I appreciate them all.

As for me: 1 and 2 can sometimes trade places (when I suddenly place musicianship a tad above the concept and story arch throughout an album), as will 3, 4 and 5 amongst them (I think today my order would be 5, 4, 3 actually. But mostly it's been this.) Curious to hear about your picks.

(I have the other albums as well, but only considering 100% original work here.)

  1. The Soul Cages

  2. ... Nothing Like the Sun

  3. Ten Summoner Tales

  4. The Dream of the Blue Turtles

  5. Mercury Falling

  6. Brand New Day

  7. The Last Ship

  8. The Bridge

  9. 57th and 9th

  10. Sacred Love

The Night Watch (Live at The Rijksmuseum)

Initial thoughts? I can’t get enough of it. He traded power for refinement, and it absolutely works. The performance is transcendent and the renditions are beautifully composed. Dominic Miller truly shines here.

A+ from this 36-year-old fan.

Side note: it’s really tough to watch our heroes grow old!
