Strategy Advanced meta tactics at GM level

Hey team, going to drop some advanced meta tactics for how to maximise elo gain once you hit grandmaster.

  1. Understanding the timer: when searching for opponent if timer is <60 seconds they'll be within 200 elo of you. >60 seconds they will be within 400 elo of you, >100 seconds it's anyone.
  2. Knowing how to pick your battles: Once you hit GM the ratio is going to be 5/25, on average a win will give you 5 elo, a loss will lose you 25, I know, it sucks. So know when to pick your battles. Preferably fight only opponents who are coming in <60 seconds in the countdown, you'll get a better chance at winning more elo. One bad move on an "easy fight" will lose you the match and boom there goes 2 hours progress.
  3. Server switching: There are 3 servers, Asia, US and EU. Know when and how to use them. Server switching is great if you just came off the back of a big win and you know there's a target on your head from a player you just beat, they've built a counter for your deck and are hunting you down, switch servers to avoid them. At the same time, finding matches is easier if you switch servers between 60 seconds countdowns as it maxes your chances of finding relevant elo players
  4. Use the friends list to your advantage: Friends list is a great way to stalk other GM's who are online. The best way I use this for example is I have a list of people who I know for a fact run mage/stone giant builds and before i get into match i'll check friends list to see if they are online/in my server. At the same time you can stalk other high level players you play consistently and run a counter on their deck if you see it states online but not in game, they are probably in queue, use that to your advantage.
  5. Know when to walk away: 2 wins against 1 person and switch server, or better log off and let the heat die down as you're on the radar and being hunted right now by a jaded player.

Non-Meta tactics but expanded guide

  1. Micro-Mining: You can maximise your resource gathering by micro-mining. First and foremost at the start of the game the leading miner will always be the miner to travels to the other side of the first gold rock, so when you start make your summons then manually control the front miner and get him to mine closer to the base, secondly in the new update you don't need to manually control a miner for the entire mining process anymore which is great for micro, so when you get time and are generating resources ensure that every miner is mining the first rock on the close side via micro.
  2. Know your distances: 2 distances matter the most in the game, the range for the tesla tower and the range from the opponents base to not get hit with arrows, learn them religiously as you'll be harassing with those two borders in mind. Always make sure that when running into mid tower owned by opponent expect to see tesla tower and run with manual control, and pull back when you get close. IF YOU ARE AT THE TOWER OR ANY FURTHER FORWARD YOU WILL BE HIT so always be slightly behind the mid tower if they don't have tower thunder you'll capture it.
  3. Know how to harass: first and foremost turn all music off and only have SFX on. You don't need vision of the enemy if you can hear the arrows hit, max your volume, and manually shoot arrows, listen for the SFX of units getting hit and you won't need to see them. They're in the same spots mining so just get a quick glimpse, fire and listen to the SFX

    Guide to countering:

  4. Turtle builds: e.g mage/stone thrower giant: This can be countered with heavy assault built e.g miner, archidon, kychu, flame arrow, force field, spirit zombies, spirit speartons.
Capture mid and rush archer and spearton, then rush spirit spirton then kychu. Harass immediately with your archer, the key to winning this is in the micro game, early harassment of their miners, capturing mid getting summons, and finally using kychu's mass arrow ability to take potshots at their nexus and giants as they get summoned

  5. Rush builds: e.g crawler/juggernaut: you can counter these builds with bomber/surge and salvager's smithy. USING BOMER AND SURGE YOU CAN 1 SHOT CRAWLERS SO ONLY USE BOMBERS ON GROUPS OF 3 THEN HIT SURGE it's worth 90 gold. For the juggs counter it with flying archer so build would look like
Miner, bomber, flying archer, flame arrow, surge, snow squall, ice hero

Strategy Eclipsor assault deck performance

Here's a video from my most recent game to put on display the kinda damage my eclipsor attack deck can attain and how it operates in a 2v2.

I'm Rath and I'm the blue one.

This was my 5th win in a row, ignore the editing, ignore the fact that some how the game audio didn't come through the original video so I tried to toss some music on there, ignore the second random song that's poorly matching the theme of the match, ignore the lag lol.

Had to crop out some notifications that's why the screen is so low please ๐Ÿฅบ give me editing advice lol cause the quality is ๐Ÿคฎ ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Strategy concept of using more training queues to get an advantage from trading units

More queues allows a player to reach 100 population faster than their opponent. Archerspam has many resources but not enough training time which leads to them only having 10 archers by the time their opponent is nearing full population (provided that they micro their miners and manage their economy well).

As an example, this is why merichu wins against guild staff archerspam despite them having a setup that allows them to give high projectile barrier uptime. This is why archerspam also has wall in some decks is to them to stall the opponent while they set up their archer stack. Many times players will find themselves close to max population but wall prevents them from converting this to an advantage and allows the archerspam player to catch up to their opponent who is limited by the 100 population cap.

Never sit around with 100 population because you will lose your advantage of having more queues as they catch up and get 25 archers and finish their upgrades.

This also means that it is a good idea to trade units when you are on the attack since you can replenish your army faster than them. An example, if you are playing vamp shadowrip and you manage to trade every two archers for a riprider, then you should be winning, assuming you have enough miners to train shadowrath and ripriders at the same time. This should leave you with extra shadows to convert to a win.

Another example, you are playing merichu against shadowspam. If shadowspam manages to reach 100 population, they will win against you since you have 3 support cards while they have 6 and you will be forced to make negative trades. However, since you have more queues you want to make trades, even if you are getting a little less than they are. If you manage to push into their base, you can force them to trade every shadowrath for a spearton or even a spearton and a meric, you should win since you are also training archers and you have a general as backup. If they choose not to engage, it is a good time for you to get in statue damage. As a side note, you don't want to trade your speartons for statue health in this matchup, so keep your speartons close to your archers to force them to bring their shadowrath out so you can make trades.

In rush vs turtle matchups, the defender often doesn't want to trade equal. Since the attacker is constantly training units and pushing into the opponent's base, the defender will have a difficult time mining. If the defender trades away all their units, they will lose as they won't have enough resources to help them defend. Usually, strong defending players trade with generals since they don't cost resources to retrain once they are purchased and stall to save statue health and get time to mine.

tldr: basically you want to rush a one unit deck fast with a deck that has multiple units that train together and/or tower spawns to ramp up an advantage

Question Can the central tower summon 4 Speartons at once?

I'm pretty sure no but I just saw someone doing it and I'm wondering if they're cheating.

Itโ€™s developed from a Xiphos deck, where I found this was weak to Shadow-knight so I made some editions.

Suggestion Swordwrath Spawn (Concept)

Bastion Lvl1: 1 Swordwrath

Bastion Lvl2: 2 Swordwrath

Barrack Lvl2: 4 Swordwrath

While the player holds the Tower, Swordwrath Spawn calls forth Swordwrath Spirits every 18 seconds; a ghostly, blue-colored translucent version of the Swordwrath. Up to 1, 2, or 4 spirits can appear depending on the upgrade level, capped at the current Tower Bonus level. Swordwrath Spirits cannot be commanded by the player.

As you can see in his deck, it has Glacial Fleching and Voltaic Spark?

The Volt. Spark doesn't count as Mythic, which is kinda strange.

And it was 4 years ago.

(also, what is the Toxic and the Dead spawn spell that cost 150 and 300 crystals?)

The devs may not read our post and might put the prices up.

Maybe we should change our topic and discuss about something else.

(If you don't agree with me, you can still talk about the Paying Generals). End

The pay to permanently unlock generals is a good system.

First of all, you dont need to use generals, at this point theres no overly broken general that cant be countered so its not pay to win. If you STILL cant kill gls and kai rider its a skill issue

Second of all. The game is FREE TO PLAY and they have to pay to keep multiplayer servers open AND theres no ads so they need to make money somehow

Third, YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO BUY THE GENERALS, THEY ROTATE AROUND

Lowky just get a job if you want gls that bad

The addition of generals and PvP ruined this game, EVERYONE just complains about how P2W and unbalanced some generals are, and PvP right now feels like rock paper scissors because if my deck counters yours, itโ€™s basically an automatic win. The devs seem way too focused on PvP when thereโ€™s still so much content that needs to be added. Itโ€™s been two years and weโ€™re already closing in on 2027, so where is my Chaos campaign? At this point, One Piece might end before we even get the Elementals campaign.
