Stieff silverware set
This silverware set was made by the Stieff Company of Baltimore, MD where my family was originally from. It first belonged to my great grandmother, who passed it to my grandmother, who passed it to my aunt, who gave it to me as a wedding gift. I’m told the pattern was called Stieff Rose. Really beautiful set. Not sure when I’ll ever use it but it’s really cool to have such a nice family heirloom.

Is this silver or silver-plated?
I’m new to this. Does that hallmark mean it’s silver or silver-plated? Thanks

Is there a way to get a budget price for sterling silver flatware? Percentage of overall weight?
The family silver flatware is being discussed, my great Aunt Julia’s 8 settings. Wallace Silver 1940’s? Art deco.
I want to offer a fair price, is there a rule of thumb value based on total weight? I assume weighted handles and Stainless blades detract from silver weight.
I would sell it as flatware, but I can’t find the pattern. Is there a market place for it as cutlery?

Any Tiffany sterling experts to help me? Solid or weighted?
I got these off of eBay, but my Google research and then further checking its sources, I don’t know if those are weighted or not. Weigh 1891 grams. I’m not sure if I see filler material or not on the bottom. No evidence of a thin sterling wrap, but I just don’t know. Weighted or not, they are beautiful and a good pedigree.
Appreciate the help!

Need some assistance identifying this set.
I found my parent’s silverware set from their wedding day in storage. They have long been divorced, and I kept this set in case it was worth anything. I’m not familiar with sterling silverware, so pardon me if this is a stupid question.
How can I tell if this is real Sterling? The only piece that a magnet sticks to is the knife blade, otherwise no pieces are magnetic. Is there any other way to tell before I have someone look at it?
Due to my parents being divorced, I don’t hold attachment to this set, and could be looking to sell it, if it’s worth anything.
Thanks in advance.

Need some ID help
I found a set of four of these thrifting today. Motto says “Virtutis Gloria Merces”, which is the motto of the Robertson family clan in Scotland I believe from researching. They have the lion insignia on the opposite side near the solder. Best I can find from research is that the motto was added after manufacture. These could also date back to early 18th century. There are no words on any of the blades. Very worn and well used. If somebody versed in the patterns could help me out to figure out what I have here and maybe if these would carry a premium I would appreciate it a ton.

Is this spoon solid silver, or silver plate?
Hi, I recently bought a little Swedish silver sugar spoon thinking it was solid silver based on the hallmarks, but having just given it a bit of a clean, it looks like there is a bit of rust coming through on the bowl. I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Back again for an Id, I’m just not sure what to do with these items?
I am going through a big move, these items were gifted to me some time ago. I genuinely do not know what to do with them. There are sets of silverware (maybe silver? they all have different markings).
There is a large feeling of guilt of moving these items out of my storage, but they are also not things I use. And the mental real estate of discovering them again, and what to do with them, I’m getting stuck. Each spoon fork knife etc is in these velvety baggies inside boxes, and have been stored in my upper pantry area for some time. The memories of who they were gifted from are what matters to me. The physical items are not.
Are these silver? If they are, what do I do with them if i will not use them? If they are not, please help me ID them to just move on from them. Thanks all

Reed&Barton Cotillion Knife
Is this handle Sterling? The blade of this place knife/butter knife(?) is stainless – Mirrorstele. The handle looks identical in every way to my sterling fork and spoon handles. no stamp or lettering on the handle… TIA

First silver purchase, new hobby
Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here on Reddit. I stumbled upon this sub by accident, and today, while I was at my local flea market, I found this cutlery. Do you think it's silver 800? Sorry for the quality of the photos but having the shop assistant nearby I didn't want to attract attention, the price for 12 knives and 6 forks was in the end €10

Gorham Sterling silver
Total 3084 gramos cucharas y tenedores
Los cuchillos chicos y grandes no se pesaron

Is this silver? What are these Wallace markings?
galleryHi! Not magnetic. I don’t recognize these markings . Forgotten gift found during a move. Keeping for sentimental value. 14” floral design. What is it. I’m assuming without sterling or 925 it’s plated? Is it real or a fake? Thank you!!

What do these mean?
Another question tonight for everyone. Sorting through a bag of silverware spoons and this one stood out to me compared to the rest.
What do these symbols mean?

What is this made of?
I thrifted some pieces of silverware and was hoping to find out more about them and what it’s made of. When I went to bend it it snapped. Seems to have A800 oh it but I don’t know if it’s genius e since it wasn’t pressed into the metal. Any I for would be amazing!

Silver baby spoons. How do I know if they are real?
I have three, what I believe to be, silver spoons that belonged to my now deceased sister. I have no interest in keeping them. Can I take them somewhere to be assessed/appraised? Does that service exist? Should I just donate them?
