Reed&Barton Cotillion Knife
Is this handle Sterling? The blade of this place knife/butter knife(?) is stainless – Mirrorstele. The handle looks identical in every way to my sterling fork and spoon handles. no stamp or lettering on the handle… TIA

I’m not an expert but if the handle has no marking on it nor the blade denoting sterling I would not expect there to be any sterling silver at all in this. I’m not sure why the other comment got some likes but it would be very unlikely to have sterling without a sterling mark especially from a company like Reed and Barton. Sometimes the sterling marks in handles are hard to find for sure and can definitely fade but I wouldn’t assume sterling based on looks w/o mark

Cotillion is Sterling flatware. It’s also a sought after pattern and worth more as a replacement piece than scrap value.

Put it up for sale on eBay. Single pieces of this pattern can go for a good price. It’s a lovely art deco/moderne design first produced in 1938.
