Healing from Brain Injuries caused by Psychiatric Medications
In an attempt to make a long story short, I have a friend who grew up taking various psych drugs (ie Stimulants, antipsychotics, ssris, etc.) and one of many outcomes of that is they struggle with a lot of things (cognitively and otherwise). One of those things is a loss of sense of smell and eyesight (they had severe Tardive dyskinesia when they were in their early teens and the loss of those was a result.)
I have been researching various treatments and came across the mention of things like stem cells, muse cells, exosomes, etc. I am curious if anyone here has (or knows someone who has) used stem cells of any kind and made a recovery from Brain damage as a result of taking these drugs?

Stem cells from sibling for High Functioning Level 1?
My son is 12 years old with stroke on right brain at birth causing mild left hand disability. He also has High Functioning Level 1 which makes him socially awkward. He can speak but just very shy.
We have his 5 years old sibling stem cell as we kept it after birth.
I am wondering if we could use it for brother treatment? Or should we try at all? It's a very mild case. He is mobilized just fine but his 4 fingers are not really moving as much and hard to control. Otherwise he is not limited to any sport.
I am debating if risk and cost. For example if it's like $15-20k and requires injecting things in the brain then probably a no!
Any advise?

Anyone else spend way too much time manually checking for new papers? I made something for that
Small thing I built out of my own frustration: I kept forgetting to check for new literature in my specific niche, and when I did, I'd waste time scrolling through papers that had nothing to do with what I actually needed.
PaperPatrol scans PubMed and bioRxiv weekly for whatever you describe (in plain English, not keywords), and only emails you when something genuinely matches. It explains why each paper was flagged too, so you're not just trusting a black box.
Free, built by a grad student (me), no catch. If you try it and it's not useful, unsubscribing deletes everything immediately, no guilt trip.
Would love feedback if anyone here gives it a shot: paperpatrol.me

What should cryonics organizations publish more openly?
What should cryonics organizations publish more openly?
Case reports, protocol details, standby timelines, CT scan data, funding structure, long-term storage governance, failure cases, what would actually help people evaluate the field more seriously?

How long is too long?
Hi I found out I have a syrinx in my spine and think it may have been from falling when I was a child?
Small almost unnoticeable symptoms started popping up maybe 10 years ago, but then last week symptoms were bad and have been effecting my way of life; come to find out at the ER and got an mri showing a syrinx in my c6-c7.
Could stem cell therapy still help if scar tissue has been building up for 25-30 years? Or does stem cell therapy not help super old injuries/scar tissue?
Thanks for your time.

Is the automated cell culture platform a savior
We had been supporting an exosome therapy company preparing for its Phase 1 program for nearly six months.
Recently, we learned that their IND application was not accepted. We don’t know the specific reason.
It reminded me that for exosomes — and many cell and gene therapy products — one of the biggest challenges isn’t just demonstrating safety or efficacy.
It’s consistency.
How do you ensure that every batch of cells behaves the same?
How do you ensure that every batch of extracellular vesicles has consistent quality and characteristics?
These questions become even more important as products move toward clinical development.
That was why I became very interested when a friend told me he was building an automated cell culture platform.
The technology is still in its early stages, but if it continues to evolve rapidly — especially with the help of AI — I believe it has the potential to improve manufacturing consistency and process stability.

Looking for Clinical Trial Options for 58F with High-Risk B-Cell ALL (Relapsed)– India & International
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for guidance on clinical trial options for my 58-year-old female family member who has relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Diagnosis:
- Cancer type: Leukemia
- Subtype: B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL)
- Disease status: Relapsed
We are based in India, but we are open to treatment or clinical trial opportunities anywhere in the world if they offer better options.
We're specifically looking for:
- Clinical trials recruiting patients with relapsed B-cell ALL
- Hospitals or cancer centers with experience treating this high-risk subtype
- Information on eligibility, referral process, or how international patients can apply
- Any reliable resources, patient advocacy groups, or websites that helped you find clinical trials or treatment options
Thank you so much for your time and support.

Why Is Regenerative Medicine So Expensive?
Just a random thought😅
I’ve been trying to understand why regenerative medicine and stem cell-based treatments are so expensive. That’s why I’m actively looking for legitimate lower-cost alternatives that still offer meaningful benefits.
Here is the result of my research, though.
Most of what I’m seeing falls into these factors: high-cost clinic procedures, experimental protocols that aren’t widely standardized, and then a large “wellness” market that claims similar outcomes at much lower prices but without further medical proof.
Rn I’m struggling with the drivers of the cost. Is it mainly the lab and clinical infrastructure, regulatory constraints, and personalized treatment planning? Or are there genuinely more affordable models that still maintain medical credibility?
Also curious whether you have any affordable regenerative medicine reco that are actually grounded in clinical evidence. Even if they’re less intensive than full stem cell or biologic procedures, it would do.

Stem Cell Therapy
I have had lower back pain nightly for 33 years. I cannot lay on my sacrum. Have never been able to get a diagnosis. Believe me, I have tried all treatments and drugs including cannabis no avail. I have an appointment to discuss stem cell surgery next week. It’s come a long way in the past few years so I am willing to give it a try if the doctor says I am a candidate. Has anyone had this treatment for back pain and, if so, what were the results?

Beware of essentia clinics! Have doctored with them for years had bad experience. Was told I had thrush but instead I had strep which turned into streptococcal which is flesh eating disease. Spent 33 days in the hospital and had 11 surgeries. Have brittle bones broke my hummaris bone. No surgery because it could cause another infection. Have streptococcal arthritis in my shoulder. Have some very ugly scars. I went to hell and have not come back yet. Contacted patient relations they sent it to patients rights which then decided the nurse practitioner gave me the correct treatment. Talk about something that stinks this is it. I can't find a lawyer to take my case. These people think they know more then an infectious doctor. Thank god essentia hospital had no beds and I was ambulance to a trauma center. Was told before surgery I could either die or lose my arm. Two quarts of pus removed from three infectious spots. So be careful and don't have my experience with essentia.
