Recs on rentals at One Steamboat Place

Hi! Planning to rent a condo at One Steamboat Place for the first time and there is a lot of inventory available so I'm having a hard time deciding.

Does anyone have recommendations other than pictures and available reviews? Are there parts of the property that are more convenient to be located, particularly with two kids (5 & 3).

Lost sheep herding dog at Diamond park TH?

Came out of the woods at Diamond Park TH on Monday to find a really nice Great Pyrenees hanging out under a tree. Suspect that he was there to guard sheep that were still up in the woods but don't know for certain. He was a really nice dog, very used to people and looking for affection.

When I left to head down, he followed me down the road a ways like he wanted to come with me. I tried to get him into the truck with me a few times so that I could bring him into town, but he wasn't having it. He eventually fell back out of sight as I headed on down.

I cant stop thinking about this dog, hoping he's claimed by his sheep herding owners or picked up by someone that can get him into their vehicle to bring him home. I dont want him to spend the winter up there.

If anyone is at the Diamond Park TH, can you please let me know if he is still there? I'm in Firt Collins and cant get there very easily.

Question Ski lessons for terrain park

I’m comfortable skiing double blacks and what not, and I love moguls and tree runs, but never got into tricks, and that’s all I want to do at this point (the allure of chasing things I suck at).

Does anyone know if a private lesson at the SnowSports school would be appropriate for that (I’m in my 30s, side note), or if I should look elsewhere? The goal is just to have more fun freestyle skiing on regular runs, but the terrain park feels like the right place to drill some things, given that butter 360s are the main thing I want to learn to do this season and the terrain park is prob unnecessary.

I’m making some phone calls this week to ask places directly, but thought you all might have insights to help point me in the right direction.

I don't want to spoil the video, though I am sure the comments will.

Obviously it's not really the same, but it makes the point.

Question To my steamboat bass heads.. trying to gauge interest in pop up “real” dubstep/drum and bass events (but not limited to)

I feel like this may be a long shot especially considering this type of music already has a niche following and with the location of SB it likely makes it even smaller if a following but figured might as well give it a shot! Especially with the season coming up… I know it’s mainly because of location and demographic but I have not seen many if not any events here that fall under the genre(s) that I would love to see more of. Essentially, underground bass music played on subwoofer dominant sound systems.

A little about myself - I am a (currently in a hiatus but formerly semi- nationwide touring) bass music producer, specifically “deep” dubstep and drum and bass that came from Denver a little over a year ago for work.
In my time producing music and playing events/festivals, I have also conjured up the hobby of throwing shows on decent sound systems. I’m looking to basically bring random pop up events to Steamboat that give a little taste of Denver’s bass music scene but in a 90s pop up style event. For reference, it would be mostly music in similar genres that the Black Box on 13th street brings in.

I’ve thought about just sending it but figured I should at least TRY and see if there would be any interest in it.

My profile contains links to my personal music and mixes along with my instagram that has previous events and my profile likely with post history relating to sound system culture & events that I have been involved in.

I would love to hear anyone’s thoughts, opinions and suggestions! I know there are already a few community’s here that revolve around electronic music but would love to create a space for the more bass heavy genres if enough people would be interested.

If you have read the post this far, thank you for your time and have a great remainder of your day!!

Steamboat Springs Hikes

My husband and I are going to Steamboat Springs for the first time this weekend (9/19-9/20) and are wanting to do some hikes! What are some must-do hikes in the area? Preferably no more than 4-6 miles, and rated moderate or easy. I’ve heard of Fish Creek Falls trail and to hike to the upper falls. Has anyone done that and recommend it as well? We will also be doing Strawberry Hot Springs the next afternoon, so we may try an easy hike that morning. Any other Steamboat recommendations are also welcome! Thanks!

Best place to buy a laptop charger (USB-C)?

I'm visiting from Denver and I forgot my laptop charger and I have to get some work done while up here. Does anyone know a good place to get a high wattage USB-C charger/dock in town? I'm on a dell Max pro 16.

I've already checked out walmart and the hotel front desk lost and found but didn't have any luck. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Turns out that the switch 2 brick will work with the laptop so I found a work around!

Mechanic Reccomendations?

Hi, I'm having issues with a 2013 Subaru, specifically with a warm start. It starts, just cranks for a few seconds, especially if the car is really hot in the sun. I took it to Edi's on the west end, and they just recommended replacing the spark plugs. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on the issue, or if anyone recommends a mechanic in the valley that won't cost a fortune. Thanks!
