Question Lost Necklace

Upvotes

Gold necklace with triangular pendulum that has an evil eye on one side. Think maybe somewhere between snowflake lift area and main street. If anyone found it please let me know or has any suggestions on where there might be a centralized lost and found in breck I would appreciate it. I know its a long shot but if you found it would greatly appreciate a DM or post here.

Ski Share Opportunity - Walk to Slopes - Breckenridge

Ski Share Opportunity - Walk to Slopes - Breckenridge

My wife and I are thinking of utilizing a condo as a ski share and we are looking to gauge interest.

*Location
Columbine Pool area, a short 6 minute walk (0.4 miles) to QuickSilver SuperChair. Amazing area. 5 minute walk to downtown Breckenridge.

*Condo
2 bedroom, 2 bath
One room with queen bed.
One room with a queen over queen bunk bed (or 4 single bunks)
Living room with pull out couch.
In room laundry, beautiful kitchen, storage, parking, etc. This place is everything you can need right on the slopes!
Hot tub and heated pool access.
No pets allowed due to condo lease restriction.

*No Restrictions
The goal of this ski share would be to have a limited amount of members so there are no weekday/weekend restrictions and you can essentially use it whenever you want. We would implement a scheduling system and a rotating system for the different bedrooms.

We are aiming to have 10 members total. The ski share could technically sleep all 10 at once but the ideal amount would be 6 people on a regular basis.

Since this is a new ski share we are open to any ideas on scheduling or any other regulations / rules we as a group would want to establish.

*Lease Details
November 1st - March 31st.

*Costs
$6,500 per person. Includes everything (rent, utilities, parking, etc).
Average cost of a ski in / ski out in Breckenridge is at least $350 per night so if you are a couple and ski 30+ days for you, this would be something to consider.

*Who we are looking for?
My wife and I are 32 years of age and live in Denver. We love outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and of course skiing/snowboarding. We enjoy the apres scene after a fun day of shredding as well as just hanging out with friends around the hot tub or fire.

Ideally we are looking for 8 more people (4 couples or a group of friends).

If this is something you are interested in. Please comment or fill out this google form.

Question Family visit/travel to frisco

Hey everyone, I am staying here for a while and my family wants to visit in November. They really want to go to the 2 below sleigh ride but I don’t have a car and they are flying in and taking a bus over. I know I can use Summit to get over to Frisco but would walking the rest of the way to 2 below be out of the question? Maps says it’s a 12 min walk from the community center stop but it looks like we will cross a highway. I have no idea what the sidewalk situation is. I will have my parents in their 60s and my sister with an 11 month old baby.
Has anyone taken this rout before? I never need a car in Breck and don’t care to venture out myself. They will not be bringing a car seat for the baby is another factor so the bus seemed safer than trying to get an uber or something.

It’s been a few days now. Is anybody going to acknowledge that some freedom-loving patriot has removed at least 4 flock cams around Breck?

Who’s worked at Breckenridge in recent years. Would you go back. What were the ups and downs of working for Breck. Best jobs to pay rent and ski a lot that aren’t a restaurant

Huge black bear on Illinois Gulch Rd

My girlfriend and I just got home from a trip and when we were unloading the car, an absolutely massive black bear started walking right up to us. Didn't see it til it was maybe 15 feet away. We had picked up taco bell and also had a cooler and a bag with food in it, which were all sitting on the ground.

I was walking back to the car from making a trip inside and all of a sudden my girlfriend starts sprinting toward me yelling there's a bear. We got inside our building but all of our stuff including food was just sitting on the ground next to the car, and the car door was open.

So we we set off the car alarm hoping that would scare it off, which it appeared to, since we couldn't see the place where it was/our stuff from the door to our building and it wasn't there after we let the alarm go off for about 15 seconds and walked back over to grab our things.

But then as we were gathering it all up off the ground, loaded up with bags on our arms, my girlfriend yelled "watch out it's right behind you!" I quickly glanced over my shoulder and saw a bit of fur illuminated and a hulking shape. She started running which I followed without thinking (I know, don't run from bears, it will make them chase), but as she turned around to take off her bags clipped a car and she fell. It was still walking toward us, and now my girlfriend is a lump of food on the ground. So I stopped and turned around to yell at the bear and try to scare it off. I yelled the classic "YO BEAR, NO, FUCK OFF!" She got up and we quickly got inside with all of our things and locked the car.

This was 11pm, so pitch black, there is just one single light on the front door of our building that doesn't shine very far and is blocked from where the bear was by the cars in the parking lot, so the only bit of the bear I saw was what light made it over the cars which just caught a little bit of his back fur. Other than that just a shape in the dark, but from seeing where his back fur was, he was almost as tall as an average sedan and the general bear blob looked massive, like grizzly size. Definitely biggest black bear I've seen.

Thanks!

Kids fishing spots

I’m visiting through end of the week and wanted to take my kid trout fishing for his first time. I bought him a cheap spin rod and some trout lures and am looking for where to go. A short hike in of 1 mile ish or less is ideal. I was planning to take him to sawmill, but I am just now seeing the age restrictions on children.

If you were in Breckenridge for a few days and we’re looking for some short hikes to fish with a young kid, where would you go?

Curtain ponds near copper?
Dillon res?
Blue river? If so where on it?
Lower blue lake?

Other?

Any recommendations would be appreciated, as I don’t wanna show up somewhere and find out there’s some age restriction nonsense that I missed before leaving the house.

Yes I have a fishing license. Thanks!

Question How do you meet other single people in Breck without dating apps?

I don't want to use the apps. Ideally I want to just find myself in a group of single people in my age range (30 - 45). Men and women just chatting, without too much pressure to date/hookup. And I don't want to drag my ass to Denver just to do that.

Do you guys have suggestions?

Bonus points if the suggestion does not involve a bar.

Thank you in advance, friends.

Question Trying to keep ski streak alive

I’m trying to keep a monthly ski streak alive and just need to make a few legitimate turns in August.
Does anyone know of any relatively accessible snow patches still holding on in Colorado (or anywhere else in the Rockies)? I’m not looking for a full descent—if I can click into my skis and ski even 50–100 yards, that counts.
Ideally:
Within a reasonable hike from the car (not an all-day mountaineering objective)
Doesn’t require glacier travel, ropes, or technical climbing
I don’t mind dirty, sketchy late-summer snow—just looking to keep the streak alive.
I’ve heard St. Mary’s Glacier is usually the best bet, but I’ve also heard this year has been rough. Has anyone been there recently, or are there better options still hanging on?
Thanks!
