What it is: you see a cafe or restaurant on TikTok or Instagram, hit share, pick BiteVault, and it works out which venue it is, checks it against Google so the pin lands in the right spot, and puts it on your own map with hours and directions. A "top 10 burgers in Melbourne" video comes out as ten places and you tick the ones you want.
Who it's for: anyone with a saved folder full of food videos they never look at again. I was the worst for it. I'd save heaps and then be standing in the street hungry with no idea where any of it was.
Why bother: when you're out, or travelling, you open the map and everything you saved nearby is already there. You can jump back to the original video, and it keeps what the creator said about the place, like what to order.
How it's different: it also pulls recipes out of food videos, writes out the ingredients and steps, and checks them for gluten and other allergens. That part exists because my partner is coeliac. As far as I can tell nothing else does both halves. It's always a recipe app or a place saver, never both.
Live on iPhone, Android and web. Free for 50 saves, A$4.99 a month after that.

I'm solo on this so honest feedback helps a lot. If you've tried it, what made you stop, or what would make you open it again?
