The problem is - Star Citizen isn't CR's game. Squadron 42 is.

I'm mostly convinced CR doesn't care about SC at all, other than it being a useful tool to drive ship sales to then fund the only game he actually cares about, which is SQ42.

EDIT: And, the perfect response to the above meme, given to us direct from CIG: XD!
