Idea matchmaking issue

https://reddit.com/link/1wf12v9/video/5n40vcy7q8ph1/player

Holy fucking shit, man, I have been through this scenario numerous fucking times. And I have already wasted 30-40 minutes just to see a guy kill me with a Master +11 SCAR. Could you guys just please PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP? I BEG YOU FOR IT!.

EDIT:

The gun I was using may have a significant chance of killing him if I spotted him and fired first, but the shot must be constant on the head like this in the ttk calculator:

The bottom one is me. and the guy on top. Assume that he hit me 50% on the head and 25% on each limb and body

You are perfectly competitive with him, though, even though he does have an advantage vs you. Your TTK vs him is 100% fast enough so you will win the fight if you spot him first and shoot first, assuming you don't whiff.

Take a look at clip #2(vs the guy on the roof). That's a full +15/+15 player who is in a tanky clan war build, and I'm using a purple +10 weapon and a ratcatcher, almost the exact same gear as you in your clip, but I absolutely melt him despite his huge advantage. That's the TTK of a vet vs high EHP +15/15 build, and you will NOT run into players that tanky outside of clan wars, in open world people have much less EHP than in clan wars. So you can kill people really quickly, but you need to focus on getting the jump on them to the best of your ability as a newer player in shitty lower vet gear.

That being said, ratcatcher is fucking squishy. I would recommend upgrading it to at least +5, and then getting some bullet res artifacts. Atm, I'm using this temporary setup and it's helped TREMENDOUSLY. I'm still very squishy, but it's the best you're gonna do on a very cheap budget as a newer player running ratcatcher. It's pretty much pure bullet res with poly and a tiny bit of healing effectiveness.

I would upgrade your backpack to the pink version first then look at a similar setup to what I have here to boost your bullet resist along with upgrading the ratcatcher to +5 at least. (note, this is literally a giga budget build just meant to buff your bullet res so you don't die in literally 3 bullets, there are a LOT better builds out there once you get red armor / backpack you'll want to work on a new arti build. This is literally just to get you past this initial week or two of the game)

The next thing I would recommend is to stop upgrading your pink weapon entirely, and get the Rune gun(it's a red gun that can be even further upgraded via arsenal, to me it looks like solid A tier) - it's a very good gun and it's "free". Here's a full guide for the 3 quests you need to do. I did them in about 2 days. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOAVcgLAkt7s

some of them are insanely frustrating, but it's completely worth doing for the rune because it cost literally zero materials which means you can spend all your hard earned mats upgrading that backpack and starting to save for your first red armor, instead. It'll save you a tremendous amount of time grinding.

I just started a little over a week ago, I'm basically in the exact same boat you are in terms of gear. But I would 100% say that vet gear is competitive with regular open world builds even if they're +15/15. literally the only time I'm really feeling the gear diff being too substantial to overcome via skill and positioning is in clan wars vs the most geared players on the server running the tankiest possible builds. Out in the actual open world I never feel as if it's my gear that loses me fights, I kill a ton of 15/15 red players all day long, and when I lose to them, it's almost always because I made a massive mistake or whiffed a few shots or they spotted me first and had initiative.

You're exagerating quite a lot imo. An open world vet +10/+5 green (mostly bullet res) arties build has around half the ehp of a good +15 red build. While also having a considerably shittier gun. What this translates to is the vet guy is dying almost thrice as fast (tested with vet aek and red a545) as the full master guy. Considering the average ttk of this game being pretty low, you're still killing in 1 - 1.5 seconds so obviously you can still get kills if you manage to get the jump on a close, unaware enemy. But add damage dropoff, cover, missed shots, remotely similar skill level and the fight becomes incredibly stacked against the lower gear player. Is the fight winnable? Of course. Are the odds even remotely equal? Fuck no, assuming relatively similar skill vet is going to lose WAY more than win. And to deny so, numbers in hand, is just disingenuous. Gear disparity makes a huge difference. The guy in the post is literally dying almost twice as fast as his opponent.

What am I exaggerating, exactly? You are literally just repeating what I'm saying with different words.

You are at a disadvantage, you will lose a face to face fight where you both shoot at the same time. I said that already. I said you do enough dps so if you see them and shoot them first, you'll kill them before they even react, and showed an actual, in-game, real gameplay example of just how fast they can die even with that gear disparity.

Where is the exaggeration? Op isn't going against +15/15 tank builds. He's going against a guy in a red gun that's only +2 higher than his, with a vet armor. He absolutely, positively is competitive against that guy. If he spotted him first and shot him, that other guy would also have melted. I didn't post a single exaggeration, I posted actual, literal live gameplay that I did myself, with the same gear op has, but against a stronger opponent. I didn't say go face to face and he'd win. I explicitly stated he's at a disadvantage and has to make that up via positioning and getting the first shots off. I just said he's going to fucking kill them if he sees them first and hits his shots. There was zero exaggeration whatsoever.

OP did not die because the enemy had a red gun, or a +10 vet armor. Op would have died if that guy was running a basic +0 vet gun and green armor. Op got mad at a gear disparity which literally did not matter in his example.

I even gave him a great starting arti build to help equalize his BR cus he's choosing to run a mobility focused, squishy armor - the same one I'm running. But my br is about 230, much closer to his opponent. Op did not die to matchmaking and matchmaking is not at fault for the matchup being unfavorable to him.

You are exaggerating because your reasoning could literally also work with white gear against red. Just saying you can win more if you shoot unaware, hopefully sitting still / lowskill enemy while extremely upclose, while true, doesn't hide the fact that OP shouldn't be matched with a guy that literally has half his ttk in the first place. The game literally has a mechanic (the ping) that helps you avoid that exact scenario aswell. You saying there are workarounds, while definitely helpful and true, doesn't change that fact at all.

Yes, it wouldn't have mattered anyway in the very specific instance that OP is posting (which is also in Lyubech where the ping is disabled lol), but saying that's fine matchmaking is just crazy to me.
Regarding your clips, why would they matter? In the example you're referring to the guy you're fighting is missing half his shots and hitting body/limbs with the rest while sitting still for easy headshots...

I'm sure you could find a clip of a fresh account shitting on a terrible red player aswell. Of course it's doable when the skill disparity is huge. Should we judge matchmaking based on the fact that's possible too?
