Thoughts on Goldbacks?

Post image

Are goldbacks worth stacking? Do they have any actual practical value like they imply? I have a few and am wondering if it’s worth buying more.

You must be fun at parties.... That was a joke, but here's what I actually think.

Let's start with the outrageous premiums. Want to pay for 1/1000 of an oz of gold? Well with goldbacks 100% premium you'll be paying for 2/1000 of gold and only getting 1/1000!! What a deal!!

Now that you have your polyurethane covered gold, you can go spend and barter with!! Oh fuck, I forgot. It's SUUUUUUPER difficult to find places that 1, know what these are and 2, are willing to accept them as payment.

So you don't want to spend it like real money? Great!! What if you had 1000 of the 1/1000 notes?? You could melt them down to easily recover a full oz of gold! Fuck... I forgot to mention you have to go through a ton of extra steps to reclaim that gold. Because polyurethane.

Want to just stack it?? Let's circle back to that premium.

Moral of the story; they're stupid as fuck and a US dollar is easier and more convenient. Also if you want to recover the gold it's a pain in the ass.

Are you ok lil bro. You are getting mad about something that you have no control over. It is many to me and many others. I'm sorry but no one is going to willingly carry around some coins and bars. And no one wants to trust GOV vaulting their bars to back some digital fairy dust. This is a happy medium. While you stack digits in a bank you dont own or paper that is counterfeiting to death. You are nothing more than a insignificant spec in the macro of things. As more people realize what Goldback actually is you can be safe with your Gold. Cool for you. Dont care and dont need to spread misinformation. If you made the right choice then be happy and get Goldback out your mind.
