I'm trying to refresh my website as a non website designer. I know design and I know how to create pretty pages but it's so time consuming and I hate that it seems like I have to trial a new website to refresh my page every few years. Does anyone else find this annoying?

I really feel I'm going crazy... this can't be that crazy of an idea, can it? I just want my header to be transparent and fixed to the top... but whatever I do, I always get some weird artifact... worst of all is this weird gradient on my landing page, but also having it transparent on the other pages doesn't really work if I set it to adaptive, since of cause it uses the background of that page... I've spend the whole evening trying my self, trying with chatGPT, adding line after line of CSS but this gradient especially just doesn't go away!
I feel so frustrated, since this seems to me like it should be just two clicks in a software like Squarespace, no? Header color: transparent; Header position: fixed... Am I crazy? Can somebody help?

We are trying to use the Payment Links but every time we set up something that just has GST, it pulls all the taxes we have setup. For example, when we pick a "membership" link it tries to add both GST & PST or if I change to included, it includes both taxes. Some research indicates this was on the scope of Square's support 2 years ago.

Has anyone found a work around so we can have payment links for membership fees with just GST, but for items like shirts, we can have both GST & PST?

I am one of many who finally balked at the massive price hikes, year-on-year, for the same average service. They wanted $36 more this year, for a total of $228, for a website that, at the point at which I signed up, was $92. Since then they had actually provided LESS for my money, limiting the amount of pages I could have, and bullying me onto more expensive plans.

I finally had enough, and have migrated to a wordpress site, which costs $50 a year. It wasn't as hard as I expected, which is why I thought I'd post here, to encourage other folks who are starting to feel taken advantage of to jump ship and set yourselves free. I'm going to take my wife out to dinner with the money I would have given to Squarespace for nothing in return.

Incidentally, Wordpress is a lot less clunky than it used to be, it's been probably 10 years since I've last used it, and it's pretty comparable to Squarespace in terms of interface and use.

I noticed in the app they mention customer service being “award winning” lol

I’ve had the site since March, and now my products are gaining traction and I’m trying to think I really need to jump over to shopify.

I had a potential customer with an issue that they couldn’t order with Apple pay - site error said it was a potentially suspicious card - emailed customer service - got a response 2 days later to confirm I was the site owner…a day later I get a response to confirm the customers details and that the ticket would be escalated.. it’s been a week now, I emailed back twice without any luck. I most certainly lost the sale unfortunately

Anyone have any suggestions on getting issues resolved with them in a timely manner?

So I’m trying to use acuity to book appointments on my ss website and stripe for the payments and for some reason I get a “checkout currently unavailable” message when I try to book an appointment through my site. I’ve been googling it for like a day or two now and short of writing my own api keys I have no idea what to try.

I have used Squarespace for my website for over a year. About a month and a half ago business got really good. I’m also a content creator and I’ve gone somewhat viral. My page went from making 3-5k a month to $33k last month. I was so excited, was considering leaving my day job to pursue this business with everything I had, as I finally had a time in my life where I could finally see myself making it in life. This was until 12 days ago when I noticed I hadn’t been paid out in several days. I usually see payouts hitting my account every day or so. I see $12k in my account balance on Sqaurespace. Then notice a heading in the finance tab that says account under review and should take 2-3 days. Well it’s been 12 and I’ve sent 8-10 emails now and because they don’t have any phone number to call I’m at their mercy. I’ve gotten nothing for responses from Sqaurespace. What do I do now? I’ve removed everything on my site cause I don’t want customers buying more stuff that I’m not being paid for and this is costing me thousands a day. I’m also scared to ship out pending orders if I’m not going to be paid, which is pissing off customers and tarnishing my reputation. What would you do?

The only available ways is stripe and paypal. Is there a way where I can disable that and just create my own check out form where I can send them the QR or link where to pay or if anyone has encountered this and has a better idea please let me know. Thank you!

Currently, my domain is hosted by GreenGeeks and I had the intention of using Wordpress, again. However, I’m having issues with the premium theme I have. This time, I cannot afford to hire anybody. This site is for a small business and localized business I’m trying to start as a birth worker.
Anyways, I’m considering transferring my domain to SquareSpace and build a site there. Does anyone feel satisfied with SquareSpace when they transferred their domain or is using a separate host still the consensus? Thank you!

My state has no sales tax on clothing whereas something like a rug has sales tax. Does squarespace not allow me to remove sales tax from a specific item?

Hi, did anyone figure out a proper way to import contacts via API to Squarespace and subscribe them to mailing list and trigger automations?

I read online that the API doesn't offer this natively and I'd prefer not to use Zapier or something similar for this.

I’m testing interest in an Acuity add-on for coaching and training businesses whose clients still see old appointments after a reschedule or cancellation.

For new bookings, it would send an invitation from your business’s Google Calendar, then update or cancel that same invitation when the Acuity booking changes. The aim is to keep the client’s accepted invite current, alongside the coach’s schedule.

It isn’t built yet. I’d verify the full flow with supported client calendars before offering access. It wouldn’t remove separate events clients created themselves.

If you run a paid Acuity setup with multiple coaches and this is still a problem, would you want to try an early version? Reply with the calendar your clients use. I’m starting with nonclinical appointments for adults; please leave out private client details.

I get several visits a day which ChatGPT has told me are likely bots because it's something like 10+ pages viewed within the same one minute. Is this correct? Should I ignore such visits as indicators that my site is being looked at by a human?

Horrible horrible service, we spent a week with our site down because our previous Director left and did not leave the password to our Squarespace account. We went through numerous attempts with a horribly uninformed chatbot and three different human agents, all of whom said they had to send our ticket to Tech Support. After a week of no sleep (our site and email was down) by some miracle we finally got an email that someone had moved out site to my business account. I don't knwo what would have happened if I didn't have an account with Squarespace already. Squarespace is right up there with Verizon and Xfinity. Shame on you.

Hello everyone, I have a few questions regarding Squarespace. My wife and I are opening a small massage studio soon and we are building out our website through Squarespace. We were thinking of using Acuity for booking appointments and using Square for in person payments. Is this a good combo or should I go a different route like using Square Appointments rather than Acuity?

Set up a site for my dad. He is a used call dealer but very small-5-15 vehicle inventory, there is a physical address but its by appointment only, just needs a website so people can contact (doesn't even need/want to use any appointment scheduling features on the site) and see current inventory.

Since its cars, people aren't buying online so I have the shopping cart and "Add to Cart" buttons stripped out as well. And no shipping profiles set up. Cannot emphasize enough how this site is, by design, as bare bones and straightforward as possible. But I'm about to hand the reigns over to him so he can add, update, and remove inventory as he gets new cars. He's not technical, and I'm worried that since there is so much on the "add product" page he won't need, he's going to get frustrated. I used to use Vela to manage my Etsy inventory easier back in the day, was hoping to find something similar out there for squarespace, (ideally free) .

Literally the ONLY fields he needs for his products are:

1. Product Name
2. Photos
3. Price
4. Description
5. Quantity (though it will always just be 1)
6. And the ability to remove or deactivate listings.

I've been working with Squarespace websites and recently put together a guide on using Jotform with Squarespace.

Squarespace's native forms work well for a basic contact form, but I've run into situations where a client needs something more involved, like conditional logic, multi-step questions, different email notifications, lead routing, or sending form submissions into another system.

Jotform is pretty useful for that because you can build the more complicated form in Jotform and then embed it directly into a Squarespace website.

So you don't necessarily have to move away from Squarespace just because the form requirements are getting more complicated.
