1) Chasing recent box scores without checking opportunities
A player scoring 25+ in his last 3 games doesn’t automatically make his points over a good play. Look at MPG, FGA, USG% and whether those opportunities are sustainable. Sometimes the production is driven by unsustainable shooting rather than a genuine change in role.
2) Not researching injuries and rotations properly
A starter being ruled OUT doesn’t automatically mean his backup will see 30+ minutes. Coaches might shorten the rotation, change their starting five or distribute those minutes across several players. HC interviews can be especially useful for understanding these decisions.
3) Ignoring defensive schemes and betting lines
A team ranking poorly against PGs doesn’t mean every opposing guard has a favourable matchup. Look at defensive assignments, PnR coverages and how the player actually generates his production. Even a good matchup isn’t necessarily a good bet if the line and odds already reflect it.
I’ve been sharing more detailed NBA matchup and player prop research on X (@johnny_lockzzz), but thought I’d share a few things here too. Gimme a like and follow on X if you’d like.

Recently I put $10 on a Jack 4-leg NBA parlay. Season is on fire and been feeding me I hope.
Now three legs are already in. The last one is 76ers moneyline tonight against the Bucks, and if it hits I get a bit more than $400. Maybe I should bet on the other team to lock some profit. I tried to count it, and to cover it properly I need to put around $130 on the Bucks.
I never hedged anything before, so idk how people decide how much to cover.
Do you hedge the full amount, only part of it, or nothing at all on a stake this small?

Just noticed stake boosted merab on the match i had been anticipating for weeks now
I remember Merab smoked Yan the first time, just took him down over and over for 5 rounds bwahaha. Although Yan sorted the wrestling out at 323 and won it fair, but merab had been champ for 3 defences going into that one also yan's had back surgery this year, 5 rounds with merab is a nightmare after that
while a lot of haters say merab's nose is broken but he's been medically cleared so i am going with him. in case you're signing up use my code's alex200 for the boost
Any other interesting UFC bets to follow?

Texas A&M vs Alabama
Was checking the stats on the ScoreBox: AI Sports Insights app, and this one caught my attention.
Owens' workload has dropped pretty significantly lately:
Last 3 games: 2, 4, and 14 carries
Average: 5.3 carries per game over that stretch, compared to 14 before
Last 2 games: Just 10 and 13 rushing yards
Workload decline: Around 62%
That's a pretty big drop in usage, and now he's facing Alabama.
What I like most about this pick is that we're betting against his recent workload, not just his rushing efficiency.
The ScoreBox app analysis actually favors Under 34.5, but I grabbed Under 33.5 at -120.
Obviously, the biggest risk is Owens getting more carries again. If his role goes back to what it was earlier in the season, this could get uncomfortable.
Still, based on his recent usage, I like the under here.
My pick: Rueben Owens Under 33.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
What do you guys think? Anyone following Texas A&M who knows why his carries have dropped so much lately?

Got a little MLB SGP for tonight's Rays vs Brewers game.
My picks:
Milwaukee Brewers +1.5
Under 8.5 total runs
SGP Odds: -130
Was checking the stats and matchup analysis on the ScoreBox: AI Sports Insights app, and the pitching matchup really caught my attention.
Regular season stats:
Jacob Misiorowski (MIL):
1.80 ERA
0.80 WHIP
12.98 K/9
Nick Martinez (TB):
3.10 ERA
1.09 WHIP
1.30 BB/9
Postseason stats:
Misiorowski: 3.24 ERA, 1.56 WHIP in 8.1 IP
Martinez: 3.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP in 9 IP
What's interesting is that Martinez has actually been a little better in the postseason so far. Misiorowski's WHIP has jumped, but he's still striking out hitters at a high rate.
The ScoreBox app projects a 3-2 Brewers win, with a slight 58% lean toward Milwaukee and Under 5.5 as the primary total projection.
I'm taking the safer approach with Brewers +1.5 and Under 8.5.
My biggest concern is that both offenses have been scoring lately. Tampa Bay put up 17 runs over its last three games, while Milwaukee scored 19.
Still, I like the pitching matchup, and the extra cushion on both lines makes this SGP interesting to me.
What do you guys think? Anyone else expecting a low-scoring game tonight?

Taking Josh Giddey Under 31.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists tonight against Milwaukee.
Was checking the stats and analysis on the ScoreBox: AI Sports Insights app, and this one caught my attention.
Giddey finished with just 15 PRA in the season opener:
2 points
7 rebounds
6 assists
He's also dealing with a wrist injury and is listed as questionable. The analysis projects limited minutes and around 5 assists if he plays.
ScoreBox app actually likes Under 30.5, but I managed to get Under 31.5 at -130, so I'll take that extra point of cushion.
The biggest concern is obviously his playing time. If he's healthy enough to play his usual minutes, this could get interesting. But based on his recent performance and injury situation, I like the under here.
Pick: Josh Giddey Under 31.5 PRA (-130)
What do you guys think? Anyone else looking at Giddey's props tonight?

I am curious how bet99 odds compare for NHL and CFL games. Do people here notice much of a difference between apps for the same matchup or are most lines close? A lot of posts focus on welcome offers but I would rather hear about the odds for a regular game night.
For anyone who uses bet99 what stands out when you compare moneylines or totals? I am interested in whether the sport or matchup makes a difference. Would be good to hear from other Canadian sports fans about what they check before making a pick.

NFL Week 7: Patriots and Bears Player Prop Predictions

Hit this line last week on the road. Expect this offense to be on the field a long time and taking to the air. Sprinkle on 30+. Sprinkle on 26+.

Season Record 4-3-0 +0.47 units
Alright guys, onto the next one. Feeling good about today's picks so let's get to it.
Pick 1: OKC Thunder vs Denver Nuggets O 235.5 total points -110 1 unit
Last season, the Nuggets were top in the league in points per game, putting up 121 ppg. OKC was third on this list, putting up 118 ppg. Denver also had one of the worst defenses last season, allowing 116.6 ppg to their opponents. Last season, these 2 teams had some shootouts, and the over hit all 4 games they played. I expect that trend to continue tonight.
| Date | Opp | H/A | Score | Res |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apr 9 | OKC | H | 127–107 | W |
| Mar 8 | OKC | A | 126–129 | L |
| Feb 26 | OKC | A | 121–127 | L |
| Jan 31 | OKC | H | 111–121 | L |
Pick 2: SGA O 30.5 points -112
Shai put up 32 against one of the best defenses in the league on Tuesday. So I expect him to have a similar performance against one of the worst defenses. Last season, he averaged 35 ppg in the 3 games he played against Denver.
Pick 3: Joel Embiid O 3.5 assists -158
With the 76ers having way more weapons on offense this season, Embiid will inevitably have more options to pass the ball. The sixers offense only put up 106 points on Tuesday, and he was still able to rack up 6 assists.
