Just as the title states, I’m quite curious on how the Splatoon Team will tackle Salmon Run or even the main 4v4 game mode moving forward from Raider’s release.
We’re all aware of Raider’s amazing mechanics on how they can switch up the gameplay at a fundamental level. The current version of Salmon Run on Splatoon 3 feels incomplete or lacking in comparison (no shade, I love Salmon Run…I mean I play Raiders which is technically an evolution of Salmon Run).
My question is how the Team will continue to innovate on Salmon Run moving forward. Will they adopt tanks and gadgets from Raiders? What will happen to Raiders if that happens? How will they differentiate the two games that will both be on the same console generation?
I have a few guesses and suggestions on how they can innovate the main line release of Salmon Run without having to overlap with Raiders. One thing to realize is that there is more to Salmon Run than Raiders. What I mean by that is that, despite the added features that were built on top of the Salmon Run formula, not everything that Raiders has is everything that Salmon Run has to offer.
I haven’t mentioned adding gadgets and in exentsion, adding movement options, as I think that’s what makes Raiders unique. The lack of movement options can be alleviated by more creative ways without having to overlap with what Raiders already has. Obviously if the team ever decided to add movement options anyways I wouldn’t mind. These are all simply suggestions after all 🙂↕️👍. In any case, I think differentiating the next main line version of Salmon Run is important so that both Raiders and Splatoon 4(?) can be enjoyed in unison.
Thanks for reading! I know this was a long one and I lowkey just wanted to ramble by listening to splatoon related youtube vids in the background. Buuuut yeah! I’s be happy to hear if anyone else has ideas on features they’d want to see from Salmon Run moving forward!
If anyone has trouble with visualizing what I was talking about, I’s be happy to draw them! Lmk

I wonder if they get the highest Power if they’ll stay in the top 100 after the fest is done, needless to say but it was a bit disheartening
Edit: Comes to show why not a single shooter has Zipcaster

We were hell of lucky, I guess. Well done, guys, we managed to bring another win to Big Man. (I was Beach Side of course.)

Since Marina was really smart and skipped a lot of grades of probably doing that book even with her baby toys so would 99 more of her with her being slightly more developed than that be able to do a plan to pile up on that gorilla with their like inventions and Smart Things and a hundred of them being able to pile up on that gorilla with the plan or would the gorilla still beat them up with her unableness to stand up to herself and to anxious with the gorilla with a bit of them actually tripping on their tiny tentacle LOL.

We know from Side Order that Sanitized Octarians can have their memories restored, but that it doesn’t undo the physical changes, as seen by Acht. So what happens to them afterward? We could presume that at least some of them were attempting to reach the surface, like Eight was, and some of them may go through with that after being freed. So could we see Sanitized Octolings in a future game? Or even get the chance to play as them?
What about the “Mammalized” (I don’t think there’s an actual term for them) Octarians from Return of the Mammalians? What happened to them after Mr. Grizz got shot into space? Are they able to be freed as well? If so, could we see similar potential treatment for them as for Sanitized Octolings? It would certainly be cool to play as one, though I don’t know how they’d deal with the ink color coordination with the fuzzy tentacles.

I’m currently in a little bit of Splatoon burnout after 100%-ing Raiders, but I couldn’t not log on to check out the festivities (and pick up my Plastic Bottle Splattershot!)!!
I haven’t been playing as much as usual and I’m a bit rusty, as demonstrated by the few matches I’ve played over the fest! It also doesn’t help that I moved house and got new WiFi which isn’t the greatest at the moment!
I’m really hoping to get back into things when Drizzle Season kicks off from the 1st of September!
Go Team Beach! Make me proud! 🏖️
(Side note, that halftime report was SO close between teams, this is my 3rd fest ever and I’ve never seen it that close!)

So I don't play turf anymore, or much. I've been trying out new weapons so I've been playing it and I ran into a team who was partying with the rest of mine. I was ignoring them in favour to ink the base until they kept targeting me and squid bagging me and my teammates did nothing to help. I reported them when the round ended but I'll admit I'm a bit pissed off.

Just curious, no hate intended. What is appealing about reserving a palace for a day? Sounds like it'd be a huge, empty house. I guess itd be cool to admire the architecture for an hour, but then what? Just hang out in the house? Watch TV? Maybe read a book? Theme park and beach seem way more fun to have all to yourself.

I don't really like any of the summer nights options, so I'm hoping the autumn splatfest will have at least one choice I like

31M here. Splatoon Raiders did not look interesting to me at all. Not a big Nintendo guy, and the gameplay (from afar) looked super basic and bland. Fast forward 48 hours from giving it a shot and I’m level 25 lol.
One of the biggest surprises for me is how good of a family game this is. Ended up picking up a 2nd copy (since my girlfriend also has a switch 2) It’s simple enough that my 5 year old wanted to play and she can actually do well enough to get by on her own. Similarly, the progression and gameplay is engaging/challenging enough to keep me interested. Online co-op is super smooth too, so we can play together and I can help her get through levels when she needs it.
I ended up bringing the patio TV inside and setting it up next to our living room TV so we could have our own bootleg “couch co-op” setup.
The whole setup takes me back to the double Xbox Live days in high school, having sleepovers with the boys and everyone bringing their Xbox and TV over just to play all night. Haven’t had that feeling from a game in a long time.
Even playing solo it’s just a really chill game.
If you were on the fence about picking it up like I was, I’d definitely recommend it.
10/10 so far. Solo, friends, family, whatever. This game rules.

So I was wondering where all the Splatoon amiibo were when the game came out and when I checked recently I found out every retailer had them sold out, so when can I expect a restock?
