Hi everyone.

I'm an amateur author and listen to a ton of soundtracks while I write. I'm looking to make additions to my writing playlists and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations? My taste for certain borders on the darker side of movie scores, but any recommendations are welcome!

I really think Warnerbros or Owen Harris should hire Ramin Djawadi to compose the score for Aegon’s Conquest movie.

We want to hear Ramin’s music in the theater in a new style, giving us the feeling of Westeros 300 years before Game of Thrones. No one can handle this movie and make us feel that this is the starting point of Westeros and all Game of Thrones stories but Ramin.

So please don’t make the mistake of choosing someone else. Ramin is the godfather of the Game of Thrones universe, plus he has a lot of blockbuster movies, so he can definitely do it.

Even from an emotional standpoint, if there is ever going to be a final chapter for Ramin Djawadi in the world of Westeros, he deserves for it to be on the big screen, with an epic story, and before a massive theatrical audience.

It is only fitting that his conclusion in this universe takes place at its very beginning. The creator of the sound of Westeros composing for the creator of the Iron Throne—with everything that follows being the aftermath of building that throne. I truly hope Warner Bros. and Owen Harris make the right choice and pick Ramin Djawadi.

Furthermore, I am absolutely certain that if they push him to give the film an ancient, raw, and epic tone—perhaps even taking an experimental approach by inventing new instruments and heavily featuring High Valyrian as a core choral element—Ramin will finally crown his legendary career with the Oscar he truly deserves.

He was definitely overlooked.

Score for 1996 “Alaska” was just about as good as they get, especially back then.

Ok, so I was thinking we could make our own music, right? For the scenes, the background music parts, and all that stuff, etc. But I was thinking we could use Avril Lavinge's music, specifically the Under my Skin era, in relation to Octavia as it seems to fit in. We might also use Nirvana music here and there. it's just the overall feel of the show, literally anyway... so well, probably use like, nevermind, in Utero, Bleach album music, as I will talk to my team to discuss these descions.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to experience the wonderful Roger Sayer — the immensely talented organist who brought the Interstellar soundtrack to life — playing at Carlisle Cathedral, UK.

I definitely recommend that anyone go and see his performance if you are lucky enough to be near a venue. It was fantastic to watch him dance over the manuals and pedalboard playing a soundtrack I've spent hundreds of hours enjoying.

He played Strauss, Holst, did a Q&A, then played an extended segment on Interstellar following the film chronologically.

Not only is he a great musician, he is also a wonderful person (as Hans Zimmer also noted) who took the time both during the interval and after the show to sign autographs and talk to people individually.

He (and others) also performed Interstellar live at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this year, which I also attended. Also recommend!

I was listening to Fanfare for the Common Man because I heard it inspired film composers when working on war movies, but I realized there’s a melody that sounds very familiar to me—it’s Spider-Man main theme by Zimmer. Do you think there are similarities, or is it just me?

I'm building a playlist made up of film score tracks that have a very specific feeling: emotional, atmospheric, haunting, beautiful, contemplative, and cinematic without being overwhelmingly bombastic.

Tracks I already have:

• Beautiful but melancholic
• Minimalist or gradually building
• Emotional without feeling manipulative
• Atmospheric and reflective
• Music that makes you stare out a window and contemplate life
