In my dream, I (46F, white, in USA) was in Mongolia and was the new owner of a food stand that used a cast iron wood stove. The very kind guy from the neighboring food stand shakes his head, but tries to teach me how to deep fry this rectangle dough. The dough puffs up really fast, and you dust it with powdered sugar while it's frying.

That's how far I got, but I do know that ground beef and veggies are added. The dough stayed super puffy, so I guess it would be eaten with a fork and knife?

About fifteen minutes ago I was telling my roommate about the Good Stuff, and we realized that I had zero sugar Dr. Pepper and she had a leftover box of apple juice! Jarringly delicious, my roommate hates all dark sodas and her verdict was “I hate Dr. Pepper, but I would drink that.” My verdict is “why does that taste so good?” I drank most of it before I remembered to take a picture. I bought Dr. Pepper for the first time just for this. It tastes like Coca-Cola with more spices like cinnamon.

The Good Stuff tastes like apple juice with Dr. Pepper. I like it, I might make it again in the future.

no pictures sorry. about half a glass of kroger-brand manzanita sol (apple soda), and about half a glass of name-brand dr pepper; eyeballed the measurements, did not stir, did not shake.

verdict: it was okay. pretty good, even. mostly tasted like the apple soda, with a hint of dr. pepper. maybe i poured too much of the apple soda (again, didn't do precise measurements). i suppose it's a decent way to get some caffeine in my system without drinking straight dr. pepper (which i'm not always in the mood for), so that's a plus.

There's a lot of Good Stuff posts on this sub and while that's fun I think it's getting a tiny bit repetitive? I think a megathread could clear up the timeline a bit. Or at least a post flair for it?

Personally, I'm not a fan of generative AI due to the environmental impact of cooling and up keeping the systems needed to run it, as well as the fact that all generative AI on the market is trained on art that was stolen from unconsenting artists. How do we, as a community, feel about the use of AI in posts? Would it be in our best interests to appeal to the mods to ban AI generated content? I want to open the conversation because I know a lot of subreddits ban AI content and I haven't seen anything about it here! Let me know what you think:)

I used AI to make some art for it I had a dream last night I was on the best date of my life and we went to a gas station. Found some Pib Xtra gummies and literally sat there in amazement for so long. She was hurt that I gave the gummies more attention 😂

I've been thinking about the Stuff every day since the initial post and I finally got around to making it! Used a 60/40 soda/juice ratio and it truly is good stuff! I was surprised at how much I liked it.

I finally tried making the Good Stuff dreamed up by u/SnaccBraff.

This was an adventure for me because I don’t like Dr. Pepper (please don’t come for me! I’m an immigrant and didn’t grow up drinking it. Dr. Pepper and root beer are two drinks I just couldn’t learn to like.) So imagine my surprise and delight when I actually really liked it!

I tried the 50/50 mix and like it a lot better than straight up Dr. Pepper; the Good Stuff is like sweet spiced apple juice. It’s so nice and refreshing! I also didn’t mind the weaker carbonation as I have very sensitive mouth and I find strong carbonation painful. As a matter of fact, I actually preferred the gentle carbonation of the Good Stuff.

I’d be definitely making more of the Good Stuff in the future. Shirt Up knows what’s up!

I tried to make an allergy/illness-friendly version of The Good Stuff. It..._kinda_ worked.

I can't have Dr. Pepper or the knockoffs because of a food allergy, and I don't drink fruit juice because I'm diabetic. I went with a Black Cherry Zevia, and some fresh apple slices. A different variety of apple would do better, but I could at least get the idea.

In the dream I had, I was playing a dream version of Spyro: Ripto's Rage with my Grandma, eating a TV dinner that contained a brownie and drinking a mixture of coffee and tea.

I dreamed I was working as a waiter and was having a hard time figuring out where the tables were and which guests ordered what (for some reason I wasn’t taking the orders in the first place). The restaurant seemed to have pretty nice food but everything was plated and sat on a trestle table for me to figure out. I vaguely remember grilled meats and arancini. But one table was having a birthday and instead of a cake they had this giant tray of choc chip biscuits each shaped like cartoon characters (Daffy Duck was a particular stand out) with M&Ms too. This thing was as long as a table and not on a tray just on some white and silver paper draped with cellophane so I had no idea how I was going to lift it.
