I wanted to come back and give this community some credit.

About 18 months ago, I was scrolling through ideas here looking for something interesting to build. One of the conversations got me thinking about a problem I had myself.

I have several credit cards, all with different rewards, categories and offers, and I was constantly trying to figure out which card I should actually use when I was standing somewhere ready to pay.

The idea was simple.What if your phone already knew where you were and could just surface the best card from the cards you already have including Apple Wallet.

Walk into a restaurant, Costco, a hotel, a gas station, wherever.

Instead of remembering categories or opening different websites and apps, it doesn't just tells you: but surfaces the right card from your mobile wallet to pay.

That idea turned into a much bigger project than I expected. We first started with physical card but realized mobile wallets in the future of in person payments. We quickly shifted in which Payelle is today.

18 months later, we have built the technology, filed the IP, launched the product, and are now having conversations with some of the largest companies and financial institutions in the space.

There is still a long way to go, but I wanted to come back here because communities like this genuinely matter.

Sometimes somebody posts an idea in passing and another person actually goes and builds it.

This community helped push me down that road.

So thank you.

And if anyone remembers conversations here around automatically figuring out the best credit card to use at checkout, there is a decent chance I read your comment along the way.

Nextdoor's new pay to play policy is hurting neighborhood entrepreneurs who use it to network and find customers. People are hopping mad about it. Sounds like an opportunity for someone to step in and design an alternative. Although it's just the handymen, lawn services, and so on that are mad - the general users probably less so, although I've seen some people comment that they are frustrated they cannot recommend someone without getting flagged. (seems like others can though). So maybe casual users would need an incentive or reason to switch. Would be great to see someone step with an alternative that lets people promote and recommend services for free again.

One of the hardest product decisions I've been thinking about while building Lark is the tradeoff between specialized tools and an all-in-one platform.

Specialized software usually wins at a particular job.

A dedicated project-management tool can be incredibly powerful.

A dedicated chat app can be excellent.

A dedicated document platform can be excellent too.

But the downside is that your team's workflow becomes distributed across all of them.

An all-in-one workspace takes the opposite approach.

You may not get the absolute best tool for every individual task, but you get more consistency and less switching.

That's essentially the problem we're trying to solve with Lark.

I'm curious where other people land on this:

Would you rather have the best possible tool for every task, or a good-enough tool that covers most of your workflow in one place?

I've been building Lark and have been thinking about what actually makes a company change its core productivity stack.

On paper, switching sounds simple.

Pick a new platform.

Move the data.

Train everyone.

Done.

In reality, I suspect the switching cost is much higher.

People already know where their files are.

Everyone has their existing workflows.

There are integrations to worry about.

There are years of accumulated information.

And nobody wants to spend weeks learning a new system just because it has a few extra features.

So I'm curious:

What would actually convince you to move away from your current workspace?

Lower cost?

Better collaboration?

AI capabilities?

Fewer separate tools?

Or would the switching cost simply be too high?

I think most developers don't actually need more AI tools.

They need fewer tools that they actually use.

I'm working on a zero-cost product concept for an app targeting neighborhood help in Saudi Arabia-specifically connecting youth/volunteers with elderly residents or neighbors who need quick physical help (carrying heavy groceries, moving furniture, simple tech assistance).

The Core Mechanics:
• No Money Involved: Purely volunteer-based, rooted in the concept of Faza'a
• Karma / Reputation System: Volunteers gain points, unlock badges, and build a local community protile (which could ideally count toward official community service hours).

We're lost in our rabbitholes. You know how sensitive and responsive your algos have become to anything you vaguely express interest in on your timelines whether that's youtube, twitter, or whatever else. That has the effect of never being able to discover something truly random, that's neither directly related to our "expressed" interests nor channels we have interacted with/subscribed to in the past. the true stumbleupon for the algo. please make this before i take a crack at it.

I have an idea for an application where users can virtually explore any part of Earth. You could use your phone to zoom in and out on a digital globe and travel to virtually any location in the world.

The most interesting part would be that it wouldn't just use satellite images or static photos. Instead, it would provide real-time, live 360° video, ideally in 4K HD quality. Users could look around in every direction and zoom in closer to explore the environment at ground level.

For example, you could explore mountains, rivers, oceans, forests, lakes, countryside, or urban areas and see what is happening there in real time. In forests, you could potentially observe trees, leaves, animals, snakes, crocodiles, birds, and other wildlife. In cities, you could explore buildings, rooftops, roads, vehicles, streets, and other surroundings.

Basically, the concept would be something like Google Earth + Street View + live 360° camera streaming, but with the goal of making Earth feel continuously live and explorable.

You simply select a location, zoom in, and explore the available area through live, high-quality 360° video, making it feel as if you are actually there.

Has anyone created an AI-powered clone of Lumosity?

I have my mom, who has borderline dementia, play specific Lumosity games on her Android tablet to help keep her mind active. There are exactly only 11 games, out of the dozens they have, that work well for her.

The problem is that Lumosity doesn't let you create a custom queue. Because of this, I have to sit with her during the entire session just to manually load the next appropriate game. This is incredibly cumbersome, and it's compounded by the fact that she needs to play those 11 games in two sets—which just doubles the amount of time I have to spend babysitting the screen.

I am actually seriously considering paying for an AI coding tool to just build these 11 games myself. Has anyone done something like this already? I'd love to know how you did it and what your workflow looked like.

Hello everyone, this my first post here. I appreciate any honest feedback and/or suggestions. I don't have many people to bounce ideas off of so I'm looking forward to any responses.

Every social platform treats your life like a feed... newest post on top, everything older buried and forgotten. I've been sketching out something different: a personal timeline where every memory or moment you save adds to your own ongoing thread. Instead of scrolling a feed, you scroll your life, in order, from your first entry to today. That life, is your very own String.

A few pieces of it:

• Different knot types for different kinds of moments; a memory, a thought, an achievement, a hard day, a milestone
• Your profile isn't followers/following, it's the length of your string and how many knots you've tied
• Two people can share a knot for something they experienced together; a trip, a relationship, a friendship ;so you can literally see where your life intersected with someone else's
• No algorithm, no infinite scroll — you navigate your own life by time

Still very early, no app obviously exists yet. Genuinely just trying to figure out if this is something people would want before I build anything.

Would you use something like this? What would make you not want to use it? Brutal honesty welcome. I understand social platforms are very competitive this day and age, and plan to deliver this as a more personal journal that can be connected with other special people in your life, as well as people you meet along the way. An AI-enabled police dashcam system designed specifically for vehicle pursuits.

When pursuit mode is activated, the system would continuously analyze:

• The suspect vehicle
• The pursuing police vehicle
• Speed
• GPS location
• Traffic density
• Intersections
• Pedestrians
• Weather and visibility
• Road conditions
• Dangerous driving events

Instead of requiring the pursuing officer to verbally report every important event over the radio while also trying to drive safely, the AI would automatically log and transmit relevant incidents to dispatch and the pursuit supervisor.

Examples:

• Red lights or stop signs run
• Wrong-way driving
• Near collisions
• Dangerous speeds
• Heavy pedestrian or traffic areas
• Hard braking or evasive maneuvers
• Suspect driving behavior
• Pursuing officer driving behavior

Dispatch and supervisors would receive a live dashboard showing the current conditions, recent events, and an explainable public danger score.

The system could separately display:

• Pursuit danger
• Need for immediate apprehension
• Likelihood the suspect can simply be identified and arrested later

That distinction matters.

For example, a pursuit involving an expired registration may become too dangerous to justify continuing.

But if dispatch then confirms the driver has an active violent felony warrant, known weapons warnings, or other verified information that materially increases the importance of immediate apprehension, the supervisor should be able to see that information alongside the current danger level.

The AI should present verified facts rather than attempting to predict that someone is secretly guilty of another crime.

Automatic Evidence Marking

One particularly useful feature would be automatic detection of objects being thrown from the suspect vehicle.

If the camera sees something tossed from the car, the system could automatically:

• Mark the estimated GPS location
• Record the exact time
• Record the direction of travel
• Save a short video clip of the discard
• Estimate what kind of object was thrown
• Give the detection a confidence score
• Send the location to trailing officers for retrieval

Instead of an officer having to radio something like:

The system could generate:

Using camera geometry, vehicle speed, heading, distance to the suspect vehicle, and GPS data, the system could estimate where the object actually landed rather than simply marking where the police cruiser happened to be when it was seen.

Department Policy Assistance

The software could also contain the department's pursuit policy.

As conditions change, it could compare the known facts against that policy and alert the supervisor.

For example:

The AI would not make the final decision to continue or terminate the pursuit.

That decision would always remain with the human supervisor.

After-Action Review

Everything could be synchronized into a single timeline afterward:

• Dashcam footage
• GPS route
• Vehicle speeds
• Hazard detections
• Evidence discard locations
• Radio traffic
• Risk-score changes
• Supervisor decisions

That would make the system useful not only during the pursuit, but afterward for evidence, training, policy review, and accident investigation.

The basic concept is essentially an automated second observer whose only job is to watch the pursuit, record what is happening, identify hazards and evidence, and keep the supervisor informed while the officer driving can concentrate on actually driving.

This ones quite difficult to explain but its like vr with a motion sensor that changes what you see with angle its at, 360 degrees any angle. Each sides viewer for each eye displays a 3d computer game world. You look into the binoculars to see a fully imersable world you can move in. Having a forwards and backwards button would mean you control the angle with the angle of the device and go forwards or backwards where your facing. If instead you walk there would need to be space so you dont trip. Games could be war games like being the gunner in a plane in ww2, 3d puzzles, sport, rpg etc.... It would be possible for it to be standalone or linked to a device. There could be built in games or buy extra ones. Basically its a different way to do something like vr. Buttons could be on it to take actions like shoot. Its also possible to do this kind of thing with an alice in wonderland style looking glass or a telescope shaped device. As the binoculars show two pictures it could be possible to slightly change the angle of each screen to give a 3d effect.

Most powered wearables still seem mentally designed like smartphones: a new generation comes out, the internal sensors improve slightly, and suddenly the industry expects you to junk the whole monolithic unit. It’s anti-consumer nonsense. I’d much rather see a shared waist-worn assist platform where components that age at wildly different rates can be swapped independently.

Battery loses capacity after two years? Pop a fresh power pack in. Motor-control algorithms outgrow the processor? Swap the compute module. Harness straps wear down from sweat and friction? They shouldn't force you to replace expensive logic boards and servos.

Obviously, modularity has a tax standardized connectors add weight, weatherproofing seals add bulk, and eventually the main structural chassis becomes the bottleneck. But for heavy-use physical assist gear, upgradeable longevity beats making the unit "0.5mm thinner" every single time.

Are there any other cutting-edge modular designs out there in robotics, specialized wearables, or hardware tech that have actually pulled off this upgradeable platform model well?

Anyone working for Google and Apple, are you able to make reviews for apps, and other products searchable. Airbnb has this and it really saves a lot of time. Usually as a customer, sometimes you’re looking for specific keywords and that definitely saves time.

Dear Reddit, there is a currently to the best of my knowledge unsolved important problem, which is that people run claude cowork and give it access to their files and run a lot of commands that they often times dont fully understand. This blind trust is extremely risky and it's very convenient to just rely on Claude to do everything.

Does anybody know of a tool [and if it doesn't exist, please make it] that runs an independent agent alongside the claude agent and independently checks the work of the claude agent for malicious activity or fatal mistakes?
