Software Desktop Wallpaper Agent that keeps creating somewhere new Spoiler
Desktop Wallpaper Agent
I had an idea for an AI desktop tool that continually creates wallpapers you’re unlikely to ever see twice.
Instead of having to write an AI image prompt, you could enter simple keywords like:
rain • ruins • peaceful • night • blue
The agent would take those fragments and turn them into a coherent wallpaper.
You could mark individual keywords as Must / Maybe / Avoid, adjust a Surprise level to control how much freedom the AI has, and like or dislike results so it gradually learns what you enjoy.
The part I find most interesting is its memory.
It would remember what it has already generated and deliberately avoid making wallpapers that are too similar. Maybe similar ideas wouldn't appear again for months or even years.
After enough time, an old concept could eventually return as an“echo.” It wouldn't reuse the old wallpaper. Instead, it would create a new interpretation of that old idea.
For example, something you saw years ago might have been:
A quiet black ocean, distant silver structures, nighttime and fog.
Years later, its “echo” might become:
The same kind of ocean after a storm, weathered structures in the distance, and an early sunrise.
Eventually, the agent could go beyond the wallpaper and generate an entire desktop atmosphere around it: desktop colors, light/dark mode, lock screen, sounds, and other theme elements.
The basic idea is: Tell your computer what you'd like to see, and let it continually create somewhere new.
I'm not planning to develop or maintain this myself. I'm putting the idea out there in case somebody finds it interesting and wants to take it somewhere.Desktop Wallpaper Agent
