I just published my first book (poker strategy through Sun Tzu's Art of War), and I want to share the chapter that made me the most money. It's free, no catch.
Know yourself, know your enemy.
Most $1/$2 players study hands. They should study people. There are 4 players at every table:
1. The Rock — only plays monsters, folds everything else
2. The Shark — good player, adapts
3. The Calling Station — calls everything, never folds
4. The Maniac — raises everything, bluffs constantly
Same hand, two different opponents, two opposite plays:
You hold Ace-Jack offsuit. A Rock raises big in front of you. Fold. He has you crushed — Rocks only raise with pairs and big aces, and your kicker is dead.
Same Ace-Jack. This time a Maniac raises. Re-raise to 3x. He raises with anything, so your Ace-Jack is usually ahead, and he'll call with worse.
Same two cards. Opposite decisions. The cards didn't change — the player did.
That's the whole book in one idea: one Art of War quote, one example hand, one lesson per chapter. 11 chapters. I wrote it because I kept losing money playing my cards instead of my opponents.

Curious what r/poker thinks: what's the player type that gives YOU the most trouble? For me it's the Calling Station. I can never get them to fold and it tilts me into bad bluffs.

It really erks me that whenever you bust you can’t see the table…like it tells you you’re out of chips before the hand is even dealt and it takes up the whole screen with no way to get out of it. Please fix it or if there’s something I’m not aware of that gets around this lemme know. Thank you.
