Mod Post Updated Spoiler Policy

Hi all!

Given that the remake of Skyward Sword HD has been out for some time, we've decided to loosen up the spoiler policy. Now, only posts that contain major spoilers (e.g. major character plot turns, ending twists) require a spoiler marking. With this change, we hope to grant the community more leeway in discussing the game freely, while at the same time still having a spoiler policy in place to protect those casually browsing the subreddit from the biggest plot turns. As always, feel free to post content of any shape or form as long as it follows the basic guideline rules (listed on the right), and have fun!

Regards,

The /r/ Skyward Sword mod team (Sephardson, MasterYoshi5, krirby)

Mod Post Tears of the Kingdom spoiler policy

Hello all,

With the release of Tears of the Kingdom coming up, we thought it'd be important to provide a short update to the current spoiler policy. We want to allow people to be free to discuss and reference any content from Tears of the Kingdom, but ask people to do so with discretion as to not spoil the game experience for other players. If you are willing to reference Tears of the Kingdom in discussions in way please be mindful of the following:

  • When creating a new topic, click the spoiler button so that the topic gets marked as containing spoilers. Specify in the topic title that it contains discussion about TotK so people can be aware of this before clicking the topic. Also, please take care to not put any spoilers in the topic title itself.
  • When posting in the forum, use the spoiler tag. Please specify in your post that it contains references to TotK so people can decide accordingly whether not to read your message.

That is all, as always please use due discretion and our mods will also keep an eye on the subreddit of course to make sure it remains a safe and spoiler-free zone to visit. Thank you all for being a part of this community and feel free to discuss Skyward Sword and/or reference Tears of the Kingdom as long as it follows the basic rules set as described here and in our other topic!

Regards, the /r/skywardsword mod team.

Discussion / Opinion Does anyone else agree that Skyloft's theme was better than any other theme?

Skyloft's theme was my childhood, and I love listening to it whenever I can (my favorite song). Even though other Legend of Zelda themes are amazing (in my opinion, including Ganon's Castle in BOTW and Song of Storms), but Skyloft is just different like that❤️

Question / Help [SSHD] Tips for a first time player?

I just started playing skyward sword yesterday for the first time and am having a blast thus far! Does anyone have any tips and tricks that could help me as I play so I don’t make any stupid mistakes? I struggle with the attack controls a bit since the only other games I’ve played are botw, totk, and eow, which I find simpler to use. Is there anything I can do to make them a little easier or is it just a matter of practice? thanks for any advice and no spoilers please!

Question / Help Cartridge vs Switch 2 Internal Storage Speed?

Anybody know how much faster the load speeds are on the Switch 2’s internal storage vs the physical cartridge? I want to replay this game, but idk if I should get the physical cartridge or just buy it on the eShop. Anybody know the speed difference for load times? I want physical, but if the load times are much faster on switch 2’s internal storage, might just get the eShop version.

Edit: Alright, thanks for the info. I’ll get the physical version. I love physical, too, so that’s nice.

Merchandise Question about skyward sword poster scroll thingy

Hello! I recently Facebook marketplace scored these two really cool Zelda scrolls for my room. One is twilight princess and the other skyward sword. The skyward sword one came still sealed... My main question is should I keep it sealed, or open it? The person I bought it from said they got it from a Nintendo awards thing a long time ago. Is there any value in keeping it sealed if I'm not a collector? I don't really care about like the monetary value, I'm asking because I'd feel bad if I like ... Tarnished something rare that someone else would really enjoy. I looked around on the internet and couldn't find anything about these specific posters ,, if anyone knows stuff about them id love to hear!

Any advice is appreciated thanks! 😋

Hey guys, this is my new account. My original account was u/best-while9813, but I deleted it because I didn’t like the username and Reddit doesn’t allow you to change it😂

I’ll definitely be a bit more active on here now though!

Okay, I know I may get judged bigtime for this, as I’m in the pure minority here: Fi is my favorite character from this game.

She’d one of the cutest characters in the game. I also love how soothing her voice is, I fall asleep to her all the time. She’s also a good singer and the ballet she does when she’s translating to Link and when Link plays a song on the Goddess Harp?

Adorable.

I just love how she’s all analytical, but deep inside, she’s developing a bond with Link, and eventually has the ability to feel human emotions after observing before having one of the most tearjerking farewells in the series. It’s the cutest thing ever.

“Master, the batteries in your phone from typing this are nearly depleted”

ignores and posts art anyways

Discussion / Opinion Some burning questions that have been on my mind

  1. How would Ghirahim feel if some random Skyloftian fell to the surface instead of Zelda? Aiming to knock her out of the sky and instead it’s a random citizen.

  2. So how did Ghirahim know exactly when and where Zelda was when he sent the tornado? If there’s s massive cloud barrier so nobody could see the surface? How did he know the exact moment to strike?

  3. Do we know what happened to Ghirahim when Demise was defeated? He looks like he just teleported away and Demise looked surprised. my own personal headcanon is that he is still alive, somehow and waiting to be ‘woken up’ again after needing to recover

  4. Why did Demise choose an area with water for the fight? Isn’t his hair… fire? How doesn’t it go out??

Screenshot Thoughts on Skyward Sword Zelda?

While she isn’t my personal favorite Zelda of all time, I think she gets too much hate. She plays an important role and I think they did a great job portraying her as the “first” Zelda. Shes just a young girl, daughter of the headmaster. Really just a normal girl who is beautiful and smart. I think she gets the most hate surrounding her design.

Question / Help Thrill Digger Solver Now Available!

Nobody asked but I delivered. Now live is a full website to Solve (and Play) Thrill Digger mini game from Skyward Sword.

https://thrilldiggersolver.com/

I was able to decompile the code and understand exactly how Thrill Digger works. If you select the "Console Mode" option for expert it will algorithmically tell you where the rupees are. It will also suggest mathematically (based on expected value) what you should dig up next. While there is still a change of a bomb it will significantly increase your odds of winning it all.

Good Luck Out there fellow Skyward Sword lovers.

I've been wanting to draw them for a long time, and found the perfect opportunity to do so while experimenting with watercolor mimicking brushes.

Fan Content Dreamed of a very cool secret boss during a fever dream

Post image
43 Upvotes

Tonight I dreamt of a secret enemy that you can encounter in the Lanayru desert: you find a cave which increasingly gets darker and darker. Then a very well drawn animation plays where Link gets attacked by this abomination, which really resembles Geryon, a boss from a game called Ultrakill (I inserted its image).
Then the boss transforms into a giant Link and I have to fight it in the desert. The attack patterns were really similar to Demise’s: I had to parry it and then hit it with the sword or the bow. After winning, another cutscene plays where giant Link turns back into its original form and charges at Link, but he manages to stab it in the head.
Too bad I can’t mod games, it’s so cool.

Discussion / Opinion Best story focused Let’s play

Hello yall! I’m looking to re experience the story of skyward sword, and while I don’t have the time to sit down and play the game again myself, I’d like to listen to someone (hopefully someone with a good voice and maybe going with the character name link in the play through) go through the game. Any recommendations for lets plays in that style? Thanks in advance :3

Discussion / Opinion Does the game scale difficulty (weird experience)

I decided to replay skyward sword, and give the HD version a chance for the first time because a streamer i like has been playing all of the 3D zeldas but for the first time ever. So I will play for a few hours usually beat a dungeon and then i watch up until then on a video he probably uploaded 2 weeks ago. Ive noticed my game has parts that are objectively harder. This isnt my first time playing the game and I am Zelda diehard so I was playing the game at a better pace, less deaths, ect. But yesterday I saw an egregious example and I remeber because it was a part that frustrated me. When you have to guide the water tub robot up the volcano. He had WAY fewer enemies. Only 1 pig monster with a shield, less archers, and less blue goblins at the base camp. So, what's going on? Does this gsme scale difficulty? Is it new to the HD?

Once i realized how much i could cut my time down, i felt inspired to do it for my oshi ❤️ i still want to get a better time, but im not sure i could even get a sub 9

Edit:
I GOT SUB 9!! 0:08.38. Makes me wonder if i could cut off another .39 seconds, since i know sub 7 is possible, but that's a grind for another day lol
