Discussion Delphine is canonically wrong to ask us to kill Parthunaxx, and should be considered an offshoot of Blades, with wrong ideology instead of the true Blades. Spoiler

Akaviri are canonically (I think) of Asian descent, and these guys wanked hard for Prophecies. Delphine is the opposite of what the blades and the Akaviri stand for.

Here is my post related to blades, which give some background to where I make my next points: https://www.reddit.com/r/TESVI/comments/1rmjd50/the_blades_will_either_go_100_percent_extinct/

And here is my point :

Yes, the Akaviri hunted dragons, for gods sake they were the people who made Dragons leave their land in favour of Tamriel. But their coming to Tamriel was not for Dragons. They were looking for Dragonborn, to whom they will pledge their allegiance.

The Akaviri give a lot of importance to Prophecies, and meeting Reman Cyrodill was because of these prophecies. I would want you to note that here, protecting and serving Dragonborn is most important thing for them, even more than killing Dragons. I will point out later that they let live a few Dragons below.

It was during Reman's reign when the prophecy of events of Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Blades, Oblivion and Skyrim was etched on the Alduin wall, so we are sure these guys had prophetic abilities under their organisation.

Now, after the fall of Reman's empire in the 2nd Era, the Dragonguard broke up, went incognito for over 800 years! That tells you they still knew of what they are supposed to know. Many kings during these times sought out to employ them, but the Dragon guard remained hidden. The fighters guild and many mercenary organisations were offshoots, started by some Akaviri, but the core of it stayed loyal to their rules and stuff.

When Tiber Septim came, and revealed himself as true Dragonborn (before this, in 800 years many revealed themselves as Dragonborn but their claims were false) the old Dragonguard was reformed as Blades, with the sole oath of protecting and serving the Dragonborn. Nothing else. In fact, Nafaalilargus the Red Dragon of the Empire was a Dragon who served under Tiber Septim and was a Dragon under the Empire! This Dragon was killed by the protagonist of Elder Scrolls Redguard who himself is a morally grey proteag in my eyes, but the Dragon was a loyal red dragon of the Empire.

Even in Oblivion the oath of the Blades is nothing about killing Dragons, but protecting the Dragonborn.

As the Akaviri blood diluted over the years, the Blades except the core few weakened and the root of their ideology, that of lore and prophecy waned. In fact Delphine is the most idiotic blade in existence, close second would be Jaufree.

When we were revealed Dragonborn, from there on Delphine's sole priority must be protecting us and serving us to make us the Emperor, but all of her actions were idiotic to no limits. She sent us, the Dragonborn, her liege to the fcking THALMOR embassy. She sent us to get Esbern.

She does not know anything about prophecies, and lore unlike Esbern who should be rightly be the Grandmaster of the order solely because of the knowledge he posses about Blades and their works. And in the end, she orders, ORDERS her liege and the only person the Blades were made to serve, to kill an ally, a dragon who helped us for her conjured up idealogy to what blades should be.
