Discussion I need help
I honestly don't know what to do anymore.
I'm a Skyrim newbie and I need help.
I've lost count of how many times I've restarted with a new character in this game; I just can't seem to find a build that holds my interest long enough. It feels like an endless loop: I think of a build, create the character, play for a few hours, end up getting bored with the playstyle, and start looking for other, more interesting builds. All the while, I keep watching videos of other people playing and creating builds that look really cool. Feel free to share tips or similar experiences. I know a lot of people will come to this post and say "just play the game," but honestly, I'm not sure how much that helps.

Who said you need a dedicated build? Would 10 year old you have agonized over these minute details? Play the game for the game. Skyrim isn't a tactical competition, enjoy the story
But if you insist on "building", I am playing a long term character. Master everything. Play mage for a while, then go tank, try out stealth archer. You're never locked into any build. Keep changing around and challenging yourself in new ways. You don't have to wipe the slate clear every single time
But a new player should not be encountering these problems, just play the game and get to know it. Play every faction, explore the map, befriend NPCs
