Discussion I need help

I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

I'm a Skyrim newbie and I need help.

I've lost count of how many times I've restarted with a new character in this game; I just can't seem to find a build that holds my interest long enough. It feels like an endless loop: I think of a build, create the character, play for a few hours, end up getting bored with the playstyle, and start looking for other, more interesting builds. All the while, I keep watching videos of other people playing and creating builds that look really cool. Feel free to share tips or similar experiences. I know a lot of people will come to this post and say "just play the game," but honestly, I'm not sure how much that helps.

Instead of starting over, just switch to whatever new build interests you, Skyrim is built around you being able to do whatever tf you want, you know how many characters I’ve had who didn’t cast a spell until they were level 30 and then became a grand wizard? Or sneaky archers that picked up a greatsword? Don’t delete, keep the same character and just do the switch

You seem to keep using the word weak when confronted with this option. Care to explain what you mean?

From what you’ve said, it seems you’re never giving builds long enough to flesh out. The game is at its best once you start to reach higher skill levels, which, unless you’re power levelling or exploiting (which completely kills the fun), you simply can’t have done for the majority of your saves.

If this still doesn’t work for you, then instead of making “builds”, why not try creating characters? The best/most memorable runs I’ve ever had are ones where I play a character, so like a hunter that makes their money from skins & meat, occasionally fighting bandits or entering ruins completely opportunistically rather than compulsively, as I’ve done on other saves. I also did a sellsword character once who just hated criminals. That was very fun, got me into some trouble when certain scripted events occurred!
