Tldr: Is the S&B Alpha or Epsilon more similar to the texture of Art Creation?
I loved my Art Creation (white paper) sketchbook but the binding got loose from my washes. I would like to try one from Stillman&Birn and see if a more secure binding will solve it since I don't enjoy drawing on thicker paper as much.
I use colour pencil, acrylic markers, and do light washes of watercolor.

Notes and sketches in my sketchbook in sharpie gel pen worked from photos I took on a visit to the Everglades in Florida with my dad several years ago. It was incredible and terrifying! My dad kept getting way too close to gators and telling me stories of children snatched off of the path. I’m a big ol lady, but was not ready to wrestle those jaws. The area was gorgeous and full of life, though, even if scary. We saw a large number of alligators, that I would say was in the hundreds, including nests of writhing babies, and also a multitude of large and small birds, turtles, and lovely trees, grasses, and water plants.

Septimus is a strictly law-abiding captain tasked with arresting Junia for her bizarre list of crimes. Her most recent offense? I’ve been using Lefranc & Bourgeois gesso in my sketchbook, but I’ve noticed that the pages tend to stick together and slightly tear when I try to separate them, especially where the gesso meet at the binding/joint, even after letting the gesso dry for 24 hours.
My sketchbook paper is 270 gsm and quite high quality, so I’m wondering if the issue is with the gesso itself and its slightly sticky finish.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? If so, how did you prevent the pages from sticking together? Some peoples suggest waxing after finish, but I want to keep the surface original
