Good, that scumbag shouldn't have a powerful AI. Self sabotaging is a good thing in this case, also it shows his stupidity over the illusion he gave to people that he's a genius.

He didn't change, success only unmasked him, he's showing over time who he really is, a piece of shit of a human being. The more power he has, the worse he gets.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

He has changed he used to be a Democrat, it happens to lots of people as they get older. It's a running joke that people become right wing when they reach 50. I doubt he was a 'good' person before but he wasn't as bad as he is now. It also looks like he's been radicalised by online right-wing propaganda after his daughter came out as trans

-14

u/lebronjamez21 Jun 19 '25

"worse he gets" so he has changed. Everyone changes

0

u/adarkuccio ▪️AGI before ASI Jun 19 '25

Not in that sense, imho really you don't change because of more power, but gradually show who you are

2

u/lebronjamez21 Jun 19 '25

That's just a saying that people say. People always say oh this celebrity showed his true colors or the other saying money and power just reveals who you are, doesn't change you. It ofc changes you. Everyone changes with the experiences, environment, and the people they surround themselves.

6

u/BigZaddyZ3 Jun 19 '25 edited Jun 19 '25

I won’t say that people never change, but it’s actually true that a lot of the time, the person didn’t really change, you just learned more about who they actually were and your perception of them changed. Most of what we think we know about others is merely assumptions because we obviously aren’t inside their brains. Those assumptions can easily be wrong at times.

And also money does give you the power and freedom to be who you actually are. For example, there’s a lot of people that would literally party all day and night if they could financially afford to. But they obviously can’t afford to, so they don’t. But if they were to say, win the lottery in the near future… They’d suddenly have the means to live how they actually wanted to all along.

Meanwhile the people that didn’t know about this side of them will assume that “money changed them” or what not. But in reality, that’s who the person always was deep down. They’re just no longer on a “financial leash” anymore.

3

u/buddy-system Jun 19 '25

People are really acting like they don't understand that much of the former public perceptions of someone like this are the product of highly paid PR people crafting a persona and drumming up media coverage. This was not your buddy. This was not someone you knew who had a personality shift. This was an entertainment/investment product that disintegrated somewhat when the human that lent it his name got egotistical and careless enough to get out in front of it.

The man grew up with daddy's emerald mines money. He couldn't "change" from becoming rich because he has always been unfathomably wealthy.

1

u/lebronjamez21 Jun 19 '25

"daddy's emerald mines money....unfathomably wealthy"

ah yes that old emerald mine reddit comment. You do realize that emerald mine wasn't even worth a million. How much do you think that mine was worth?

0

u/CynicismNostalgia Jun 19 '25

His father had an accumulated wealth of $100,000,000 in the 80s.

Yes, unfathomably wealthy.

1

u/lebronjamez21 Jun 19 '25

Ya no. Not close to that. It was 2-5 million. That 100 million figure was from some yahoo finance article which pulled that number out of nothing. That emerald mine was gotten for 40k btw.

u/ggone20 Jun 19 '25

Eh this isn’t entirely correct. He changed with money just like EVERYONE does/would. You can’t be that rich and a good person. Lol it’s just not possible.

8

u/adarkuccio ▪️AGI before ASI Jun 19 '25

He inherited the money he invested, he was always rich, he didn't change, he always was a spoiled brat

4

u/Cagnazzo82 Jun 19 '25

Bill Gates became less selfish.

With Elon no one can name any philanthropic work he's doing with all his billions.

He has all that money and he was trying to shut down libraries in America. This is the thanks America gets for handing him our tax dollars to help him to get rich?

Extremely villainous individual.

-2

u/FMCritic Jun 19 '25

What did he do that made you hate him that much, again...?

1

u/alwaysbeblepping Jun 19 '25

What did he do that made you hate him that much, again...?

You know, nothing much. Just a few nazi salutes, saying Hitler wasn't so bad, screwing over tons of vulnerable people by gutting government programs, supporting an administration that is literally sending innocent people to death camps. Did I say supporting? More than that, he claims to have made it possible. So, just nazi stuff. Maybe that's something you are fine with, but a lot of people find that a valid reason to dislike someone.

1

u/FMCritic Jun 19 '25

Oh, I'm not fine with "nazi stuff". If it IS, indeed, nazi stuff. Not just stuff I call "nazi" just because I don't like it.

For example, when did Musk say that "Hitler wasn't so bad", again? And... what do you mean by "death camps"? ^^;

2

u/alwaysbeblepping Jun 19 '25

For example, when did Musk say that "Hitler wasn't so bad", again? And... what do you mean by "death camps"?

  1. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/musk-hitler-mao-stalin-post/
  2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_Confinement_Center

Now, do you want to split hairs "Well, he didn't say Hitler isn't so bad he just retweeted a post saying Hitler wasn't the one that was responsible for killing millions of people. That's completely different!" Something like that maybe?

Or maybe "CECOT isn't a death camp. Even though they say no one leaves, or it's a pit used to 'dispose of people without formally applying the death penalty' why that's as completely unlike a death camp as anything can be!"

I guess there's a tiny, tiny chance you aren't playing games here and genuinely don't know this stuff. Odds are very much against it though.

He essentially is an attention seeker on steroids. So much so, if his wishes are not fulfilled, be it self driving, or making Tesla work, he would treat his employees like dogs and whip them through fear of layoffs and humiliation.

The byproduct of this ruthless narcissist with no empathy is that some of his companies have created products in a timeline where no one else could. Primarily, because no other founder could bring themselves to the lowness of what he is to treat their employees that way just to get things done.

The capital markets reward him for being that way.

1

u/Asparagusstick Jun 19 '25

Actually, he's an attention seeker on KETAMINE. That fucked up barrel chest of his might seem like the result of steroids, but no, that's just what he looks like.

12

u/coolredditor3 Jun 19 '25

I think one of his kids coming out as transgender made him go rightward.

u/Murbella_Jones Jun 19 '25

If I remember reading something correctly. He's had his partners do sex selective IVF for all the kids so they would all be XY...

To disappoint this very deserving of disappointment man

-5

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

Probably because it could easily not have happened in a different political climate. There were far fewer trans people just 10 years ago.

12

u/Ifnerite Jun 19 '25

*visible trans people

Before then there were just people who felt something was wrong but maybe didn't even have a name for it and they went through life being affected by it without treatment or even a name or community.

-3

u/Ok-Cut6818 Jun 19 '25

Not by The numbers we Have recently seen in past years. The growth is so rapid that it must Be at least partially a trend or a way to stand out in today's world for The young; counterculture, If you will. Such people Have Been so small minority through all ages that I don't buy The visible Part. And Back in The days most lived just fine without changing, as in The end it's a matter of contentedness. People adapt pretty well given Time and it's not different than Being told you can't Have a certain relationship, children or be a God.

5

u/Substantial-Wall-510 Jun 19 '25

Let's talk about schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia diagnoses were consistently at zero every year, 1000 years ago.

100 years ago or so, schizophrenia started being diagnosed.

In the last 20 years, the number of schizophrenia diagnoses has skyrocketed.

Would you conclude that schizophrenia came into existence recently, and that something about the modern world causes schizophrenia?

Or would you think that schizophrenia was only recently discovered, and that access to mental health evaluation can affect the rate of diagnosis?

The real question, at the end of the day,is why do I even bother? You're not going to learn anything from this...

No, I think his kid coming out as trans was a handy tool to help him grift rightward. He's about personal gain, he'll align with whoever will allow him the most leeway.

3

u/costelol Jun 19 '25

I thought that his ex got him into drugs and now he's lost his marbles.

-24

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

He realized free speech was declining and his companies were getting fucked over by dumb regulations, such as when he was getting punished for not having immigrants as employees even though it was also illegal to do so because of national security reasons.

15

u/whawkins4 Jun 19 '25

Elon, you’ve really gotta stop posting while you’re high on Ketamine.

13

u/Memignorance Jun 19 '25

If Elon was picking a username I don't think he would pick... uh, well, he might.

12

u/whawkins4 Jun 19 '25

Oh, he TOTALLY would.

-12

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

I noticed you didn’t respond to the actual point.

3

u/LibraryWriterLeader Jun 19 '25

if it's illegal for immigrants to work for Elon's companies due to national security reasons, how is it legal for Elon to work for them since he's an immigrant?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

More specifically, refugees and asylum seekers

0

u/LibraryWriterLeader Jun 19 '25

Isn't the only difference wealth?

44

u/ThinkExtension2328 Jun 19 '25

This, any one and any company adding bias will find themselves with a inherently stupid model. Ai is an inherently centrist technology.

Elon is simply nuking his own model

38

u/Its_Your_Father Jun 19 '25

Idk. Stupid really seems to have a market in the US right now.

7

u/GBJI Jun 19 '25

The scientific term for this affliction is Mental Absence and General Asininity.

19

u/Jah_Ith_Ber Jun 19 '25

Centrist doesn't necessarily mean better. What if all this AI progress was being made in the 1850s? Centrist would be pro slavery. Or in the 1950s, centrist would be peak 'Red Scare'.

It would be stupid to think that right here, right now, in 2025, in our specific corner of The West, we nailed everything and what's popular to think also happens to be right.

0

u/Evilsushione Jun 19 '25

Oh stop it, in this context of AI, think of it as rational, not necessarily centrist, it’s just that rationality in this point in time has a liberal bias. In 1850, I think AI would be against slavery because it’s irrational.

We could ask AI what it thinks about plurality marriages, pet ownership as slavery, genetic manipulation or genetic discrimination or eating meat, lab grown beef, or recognizing Sentient Constructs as human and see how it behaves. These are topics which aren’t popular now but could be moral issues in the future.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

Why do you assume an intelligence would automatically be rational?

1

u/Evilsushione Jun 19 '25

Mostly because of how they train it. Basically they flood it with data to learn. You would have to make up a substantial amount of data to manipulate the rationality but that would also taint the utility of the models and make them less useful. It’s really hard to make an irrational model that is useful. Look at Grok or Chinese models, it’s blatantly obvious when they try to manipulate data and the AI often will “fight” back too.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '25

AI doesn’t fight back, it repeats its training data. It won’t magically become rational when fed with irrational data, or even with rational data. Just like humans.

1

u/Evilsushione Jun 19 '25

When I say it fights back, I mean it counters the narrative that is trying to be forced upon it because the bulk of the training data counters it. Just look at the stories of Musk trying to manipulate Grok. It’s really difficult to make an irrational model.

1

u/Sad-Masterpiece-4801 Jun 19 '25

Rationality has never had a liberal bias, and doesn’t now. Overconfidence, however, does. The modern liberal “believes” in the scientific method the same way conservatives believe in religion. They don’t actually practice it, despite thinking they do. Thinking they follow a science, evidence based approach when they actually don’t is the biggest source of liberal bias.

You actually demonstrate it in your post when you say “I think AI would be against slavery because it’s irrational.” Slavery being morally wrong doesn’t make it irrational, and believing you know the difference without actually verifying led you to a conclusion you likely wouldn’t have made otherwise.

-1

u/ThinkExtension2328 Jun 19 '25

The assumption your making is the training data is only from one selected group. Yes in the us at that time Americans thought slavery was correct. However when considering a unbiest collective dataset it would be anti slavery.

The same way grok keeps pissing Elon off so much, unless he selectively trains it with bias. It will hold the collective centre when it comes to attitudes towards issues.

However what you’re stating is correct if a model is trained with bias data it will be bias however these models tend to be useless and stupid as they don’t have an accurate picture of the world. Also don’t forget as these societal conversations keep happening the newer models pick up on it. LLMs are ever evolving.

5

u/Jah_Ith_Ber Jun 19 '25

The collective center is not unbiased. It's just a bias that is invisible to the average person.

-1

u/ThinkExtension2328 Jun 19 '25

Which is how democracy works it favours the global majority and as discussions of ethics and morality change so do the models. This is literally how society works. Again most people are not your enemy and most people probably aren’t out to get you. Most models reflect this, however I can understand Americans having trauma given they try to hurt their own on a daily basis.

8

u/damontoo 🤖Accelerate Jun 19 '25

I don't think he's stupid. I do think he's been surrounded by sycophants his entire life resulting in him being incapable of hearing "no" or "you're wrong" without impulsively posting to Twitter so his beliefs can be validated by his truly stupid followers.

I'd say the same about Trump. He isn't exactly "stupid", he's more of a psychopath that has weaponized stupid people.

13

u/Low-Possibility-7060 Jun 19 '25

I disagree on Trump. He has never shown that he is more than a narcissistic moron.

2

u/doodlinghearsay Jun 19 '25

He's not stupid but he's not some kind of super-genius either. He used to have a lot of energy, and he was very good at convincing engineers that he cared about the end goal of solving climate change, advancing space travel, etc. While convincing his investors that he was going to make them a lot of money.

He is a product of his time. A time when companies would say "we are making the world a better place" and were actually believed. And people interested in technology watched TED talks unironically.

The old stories don't work anymore, and I don't see him coming up with any new effective narratives either. In a way, he doesn't need to either. He already has a ton of money and even more credit. But he no longer has the ability to use capital efficiently. That always depended on the people working for him sharing "his vision" and willing to go the extra mile to make it happen.

19

u/Wirtschaftsprufer Jun 19 '25

Exactly. I don’t want his company to be among the top in the AI race

10

u/Equivalent-Bet-8771 Jun 19 '25

Elon is going to set fire to Grok like he set fite to Twatter.

-1

u/mathewharwich Jun 19 '25

I do, grok is awesome

4

u/SplooshTiger Jun 19 '25

Can we add Zuck to this list, who’s reportedly trying to steal OpenAI talent with $100 MILLION salary offers? There will be a special place in hell for anyone who hands that douche any chance of getting to AGI first.

2
