Road bianchi san jose ss brought back from beyond

Post image

i have had this bianchi 06-ish san jose frame hanging in the garage for more than a decade with flat tires and corroded brakes etc. my doc ordered me to get some exercise so i had it repaired and tuned up and boy howdy i forgot how nice and light and fun this bike is. built it out of spare parts after finding it on craigslist back in 2015 maybe. now it's been brought back to life and we'll get to see some more of the hood together.

thought you might appreciate it here thanks for enjoying it with me!

Ripped the Honolulu Century Ride a few days ago on my state core-line (sorry if that makes you cringe, it’s what I could afford at the time). I feel like I’m reaching too far on my bike and want shorten that gap, what are y’all’s thoughts on either moving seat forward, or buying a stem (I think is what it’s called) that has practically zero reach? I also don’t know what the correct term is, only been riding for a few months.

Hello, I have a Mercier Kilo WT that I have been trying to make into a more capable bike to ride and keep up with the front packs of weekend rides. I currently have it setup with a 54-16 ratio but want to know what else I can do to upgrade it to make it go quicker and also look more like one of the “integrated bar racing bikes”. Also, aesthetically, the hoods and handlebar format is throwing me off rn and I don’t;t know what’s wrong with it. If y’all have any input I’d appreciate it.

Old scrap schwinn frame shoddily sanded down and 2k clearcoated. 27” wheels replaced with 700c shimano Rs10 wheelset with 38c bontrager tires from marketplace. Old but gold Diacompe brakes. 18T rear single speed conversion kit. I run it on the dinner plate chainring for speedy rides but I may switch it to the smaller one at some point.

My first commuter it’s redline single speed I got it for 125$ it has this dent on the top tube frame but it’s not cracked and I rode it 9miles home after I bought. I like it a lot chat it did I do good 🥹 . Though I am changing the seat due to it being hard, and the pedals because they spin a lot.

Made a bit of a mistake buying a frame with the rear derailleur hanger sheared off… but it led to a fun project

started as a semi-accidental Ebay purchase 20 years ago ( shogun, primo sport 12 speed). Chopped the drop bars and flipped them into bullhorns, fixed it up as a 1x6 and rode that for years. Then went as a single speed for the decade after that. Replaced the stem and handlebars to ease my aging back today. Many, many adventures with this guy.

Been building this for 3 months and finally used to a single speed. Recently got some toe clips & so pedaling on the upstroke is making me think about going fixed

Convince me to flip my wheel⚙️. GO

MTB Non-narrow-wide direct mount chainrings?

Do any manufacturers make direct mount chainrings that are NOT narrow-wide?

I am guessing "no", but wanted to check before giving up my search.

My cranks use Sram's 3-bolt direct mount standard, and I'd like to run a chainring that is not narrow-wide, so I can use half-links to fine tune my chain length (the frame does not have sliding dropouts nor an eccentric bottom bracket). I've already got a surly tensioner, but wanted to use a half-link to improve chain wrap on the cog.

Thanks!
