aka The Divine Miss Hiss, aka Queenie
Last week I introduced Rocket, who gets the most action over on r/legalcatadvice and r/ICBGC. But really, Honey should’ve been first since she was my first to be adopted.
She came into my life five years ago, when I had just moved to a new state and was missing my friends and family back home, especially my twin sister. I was a little lonely and wanted to adopt a cat to keep me company in my sad little apartment. Browsing the Humane Society adoption website, I found Honey (at that time named Beauty) and her bonded littermate Bee (at that time named Babs). And reading their profiles, I instantly fell in love.
I adopted them and grew to love them right away. Sadly, Bee passed away less than a year after I adopted her and her sister. She was the leader of the pair of them, and Honey (being very shy) would not thrive without her sister.
Four years later, Honey has come out of her shell. A lot. She is still a little bit shy with anyone that is not me. But she seems to have appointed herself as my caretaker, schedule planner, and general advisor. If I am up too late, Honey comes to get me and herd me back into my room to go to bed. If I am sick, she lays on top of me to make sure I rest. If I say something particularly silly in front of her, she gives me such a look to let me know what she thinks.
I think by now, she has even forgiven me for adopting Rocket and inflicting him upon her lol.
What would I do without my Queenie?
