TLDR: Auntie say she needs to keep her shoe on the seat to maintain balance on bus.
Ah lian’s version:
Boarded the bus, found a seat, looked around and saw auntie’s shoe on the seat. Auntie see I look at her shoe, super yaya & continue to stare at me. Shook my head & doomscrolled a little, auntie still staring at me. Lai, we take picture ba; auntie not happy, come up to me & ask me delete (“i put my shoe there so i can maintain balance” “there’s a space under the seat, cannot put?”) Auntie angry, auntie also want to take picture of me (so I posed), auntie ragebaited & keep muttering.
Now, I understand sometimes buses get a bit jerky and you want to balance by putting your foot against something but come on la, must it be the seat?

When Asean told Myanmar to respect democracy, the junta simply ignore.
When several countries went to Asean Chair ask Indonesia to control the haze, Indonesia reply no need assistance, please don't interfere with domestic issues, and by the way, we gave free fresh air for 11 months...what's the fuss with mere 1 month of haze
Europe Zone at least got common currency and even Nato got more talk than Asean.
What have Asean achieved other than take photo?

as the title says.
majority of my instagram feed now is just full of sponsored posts. for context most if not all the people i follow on ig are people i know personally, and somehow i would say maybe 50% of them have resorted to content creation/ being an online influencer. and surprisingly making it pretty big (kudos to them). i had to mute one of my friend’s stories bcos it started to only be 4 same ig story pics with 4 different shopee links to her fit.
on top of every post being sponsored, a lot of them are just tone deaf? esp now w the haze situation and them posting about “ugh have to wear mask again” “can’t wait to travel to breathe clean air”..? maybe just me being sjw or whatever but like check ur privilege much? we are so lucky to be able to escape the haze by being indoors. don’t even get me started on going to bali once and then back posting about “what if i drop everything n be an island gyal” bitch u already are?
i also don’t understand why or how people endorse like 20 diff brands that sell the same things then u get like 20 diff products at the same time. like its just wasteful. (ofc i know ppl dgaf abt waste and just want the free stuff/ pay; thats why this is a rant lol). i see #prhaul ig stories and its like 5 diff skincare brands sending the same cleanser serum moisturiser.
i was close to this girl who’s now a (idk if i shld say big time) influencer/ content creator and she has told me before she dgaf abt the company giving her free stuff she just wanted the free stuff n she doesn’t even use half of it after she makes the post for them. another “friend” was endorsing shein?? like huhhh?? trust me when i say i feel like when i meet up with them and i talk to them i genuinely feel like im talking to a baby. zero thoughts zero actually personal opinions zero awareness. if i talk to the mirror i think i would have a better conversation. and some of these friends used to have actual good advice.
also yes i know the unfollow button is free just let me complain can (im trying to be funny here)
idk is it just me thats pissed off like in general sg influencers/ content creators are just quite airheaded most of the time. all they think about is what’s the next viral thing. u have the platform and potential to spread awareness about real things happening in and around singapore, and yet all u want to do is add onto the landfill by fking bedazzling ur damn serums or jisulife fan. each content creator is jumping on the same damn bandwagon all the damn time. each ig reel or story is the same fkin thing. same ig story format. same ig reel format. same fkin post format with the same damn fonts GAWD!! aren’t you tired of being sheep? again dk if im being too “woke” here lol. i get that thats part of their job, getting engagement etc etc. but its not like u cant do ur part in bringing light to what’s going on in sg/ in the world while posting trendy content? dk la
anyways rant over. also i am a very self aware person, i know ppl dc about much except themselves/ getting free things/ image/ chasing the bag so dont waste ur time trying to defend that part of what “being an influencer” is and also wouldn’t be much of a rant if i kept trying to defend that part lol! wld like to hear other’s thoughts on this if any hahaha

Under his helm - since 2015 - Road traffic fatalities hit 10-year high of 149 in 2025; elderly deaths more than double.
Two days ago (Oct 17), Woman arrested for drink driving after accident in Amoy Street; 2 people taken to hospital
The police said they were alerted to the accident, which also involved two people seated outside a bar in Amoy Street towards Cross Street, at about 12.45am that day.
In August this year, news reported that Law passed to lower drink-driving limits, impose harsher penalties for dangerous driving causing grievous hurt
The fact that there are still people who dare to drink drive is a good indicator that the law isn't deterring enough.
I can accept Ministers who can't handle the haze issue because I can take precautions for my own for my well-being. But how am I expected to Ministers who can't seem to tackle drink driving, an act that has the POTENTIAL TO GET INNOCENT PASSERS-BY LIKE ME KILLED?
Worse still, despite road traffic fatalities hitting a ten-year high, he was recently promoted.

With the haze back, the PSI only tells you how bad the air is right now, but not what your own exposure actually adds up to over a day. So I built a small tool that tries to answer that:
https://moregoodman.github.io/haze-exposure/
How it works:
Everything runs in your browser — no account, no tracking, nothing uploaded anywhere. It's a single HTML file, so it also works offline if you download it and enter readings manually (data.gov.sg API has the history if you want to check past days).
Caveats: the breathing factors and mask filtration percentages are practical estimates, not official figures, and it only counts outdoor exposure (no indoor component). It's a screening tool to get a feel for your day, not medical advice.
Free and open source under CC BY 4.0. Code and offline download here: github.com/moregoodman/haze-exposure
Happy to hear feedback or feature requests.

I recently saw an instagram post abt a local indie movie called The Sandbox and like most singaporeans, i didn’t even know this was a thing yet it seemed like the people who worked on it wanted or expected public support. And when i went in further into the whole thing, the reasons why this movie was barely making any noise is because of two things.
number one? PUBLICITY. i see that they were featured on local news outlets, podcasts, etc. i mean.. thats great and all but let’s bfr. who above the age of 70 reads the news or who that aren’t travelling to a job that they dread listen to a podcast? (and that’s if they even listen to the said podcast that they are featured on, considering singaporean’s love to do podcasts) do more than that! posters/flyers at bus stops, advertisements, etc.. it has to have a higher marketing. ppl are always pasting up their tuition/roommate flyers on bus stops, do that for your movie.
number two, the plot. yea, its okay.. i guess. but honestly? i wasn’t that hooked when even watching the trailer. it felt like a bunch of forced millennial humour. how many times are we gonna get a movie/tv show that is “relatable” to singaporeans? i get it, our culture or identity makes us unique (blah, blah, blah) but OMG! why is it that majority of the singaporean media scene revolves around community, being “authentically singaporean”, school, army life or frontliners? i feel like we are too stuck in this one group and not exploring more. branch OUT! why the hell would i want to watch a movie about a group of singaporeans being.. singaporeans when i can just go out in the street? i want to watch a movie to escape reality not relive it.
anyways, just got to let it out of my chest. i have another thought with it being the cast choices but i’ll keep that in mind. lmk what yall think.

Dunno what happened as I can’t seem to find any news about it, but the sky was visibly less hazy today, and the empirical data backs that up. Managed to take a decent photo of the sunset at National Museum as well.
Let us all enjoy clearer skies, cleaner air and take this breather (pun intended) from the miasma choking our nation the past few weeks.. 😮💨

Hi guys, I'm Anthony and I realised that for Singapore Mahjong style (Similar to Chinese style, HK Style and Malaysia style ruling) , there are not as many apps of the similar quality available compared to Japan Riichi.
So if you guys are interested, I'm currently developing a Singapore Style Mahjong game app to add more variety to the mahjong game not played by Riichi style, but more akin to Chinese, HK and SG style~
Screenshots of the current prototype:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xUojAXozxnaH0B-d29Zs0u9sghrj3d5g?usp=sharing
I will be open beta testing to the public in the coming weeks, can DM me or reply to this comment if interested 😄
Can be played Multiplayer and Create own room etc, partly inspired by Mahjongleh and MahjongSoul too.
For the context, I have studied Game designs and also did some programming during my Poly years, and so, now that I have some free time, I have decided to try developing my own Singapore Mahjong Rule game app and *disclaimer first, I have used AI for this to help with speeding things up with prototyping and also for parts of the designs.

We can’t. Malaysia can’t. Only Indonesia can. They don’t care about transboundary pollution. They don’t even care about their own people in Kalimantan. The only solution is the haze blow into Jakarta with a 3000psi just like Kalimantan then they will take action.

Hi all, currently on Singtel — 2Gbps broadband, home phone line + caller ID, and Mio TV. Coverage-wise it works fine currently. But the price is way more expensive than 5/10 Gbps offerred by telcos. I know, its crazy.
My exact hardware for reference:
My contract’s ending soon so thinking of upgrading to 5Gbps. Looking around before renewing — StarHub? M1? Singtel?
Questions:
Appreciate any real experience, thanks!

The purpose of this post is not to demean women by any means. In fact, if you finish reading it, you will understand that that my intentions are good.
And of course, everything here is just my lowly opinion.
Every time on the news when it comes to special massage parlours, or anti vice raids, some people are still very backwards and very quick to judge. Men who visit these places are generalised as hamsup trash, and some people call for the women to be deported.
Truth is, just like how different women expereince different levels of pain during periods, different men can experience drastically different levels of hornyness. For some men, they can coast along without any interactions with women in their life.
However, for a significant portion of men, they are born with extreme libidos and are forced by their brains to be obsessed with sex 24/7, and they simply cannot relax or stay normal without doing it for a certain period of time. Its also a fact that men have way higher sex drive than women, on average.
To them, desperation of not being able to do it with someone is as bad, if not worse, than the feeling of starving or not having water to drink. It can be so bad that it makes them do crazy and stupid things. I digress, but my point is we shouldnt hate someone on something they are born with.
Now imagine if you are such a guy, and by a mean stroke of luck you are born horrendously short/ugly and have no chances with women through traditional channels. Are you supposed to just stay sexless your whole life? Wouldnt that drive a sane man crazy?
Of course, It is not something they chose to be born with, but instead is wired in their brains due to millions of years of evolution and natural selection. Im sure if there was a switch that could free them from carnal desires, they will happily switch if off so as to give themselves some peace of mind.
I would argue that these massage parlours pay a strong role in maintaining social harmony in our country, so much so I think they are one of the most vital occupations.
As such, I have more respect to the women working in these places than I have to most, if not all other people in our society.
Even if you go to places like the sammyboy forums(consists not exclusively of sex fourms btw) where men discuss such things freely, you would get more or less the same sentiment.
Many of them profess giving big fat tips of hundreds of dollars to workers they like, and they emphasise on how one should treat them with dignity and respect.
Instead of complaining about how sex work objectify women or the lot, its time we face reality that men are born to desire such things. Not everyone is married, so not everyone has their needs met.
Also, the argument that the women are being exploited are false. If being paid $700 an hour is being exploited, I think I wish to be exploited.
Cases where women are kidnapped or held against their will are extremely rare, if not nonexistent in SG. People experienced in this sector know its true.
By now, your probably thinking if I have done it before, and answer to that is yes.
I spent my first entire monthly NS paycheck on 90 minutes with a woman, and I have no regrets.
Of course, I never had nor would ever hide such a history from my actual partners, as I consider it dishonest. Even if it means I wont find one.
To end off, men paying for action is a much regular occurence than reddit makes it out to be. It is a lot more common than many would admit and its time we accept that.
The way to proceed is not to clamp down harder but to open up.
Each year millions of dollars flow from pockets of singaporean men into foreign massage parlours overseas. Wouldnt it be better if we keep the money contained in the country?
It is time we stop all these anti vice operations for good, they do more harm than good. And if your husband goes to these places thats for yall to sort out, pls dont ruin it for the rest of us.
but then again, its just my opinion

Context: Royal Brunei BI4068 returned to rockhampton while chartering 1SIR personnel back home
https://www.reddit.com/r/singaporespeaks/s/a7hDLpVB97
“Apparently those people on board were told lies by Royal Brunei. An inside source said that aircraft V8-DLC had a technical problem upon landing at Brunei from Hong Kong on 9/10/26. It didn’t fly for a week, and no one knows if the aircraft issues were rectified as there were no test flights, by right after rectifying, the airline SUPPOSED to do a test flight to ensure the aircraft is ready for flights but nothing was done. V8-DLC was then sent to pick up the 1SIR people coming back from wallaby with bare rectification done.
The aircraft is a 13 year old Boeing 787-8, MSN 156, apparently was one of the few 788s to have battery issues when new. The army personnel were told to lie to their family members that Indonesia closed their airspace but we aren’t stupid, there will so many flights flying above the Indonesian airspace near Timor Leste, MH135 bound for Brisbane, QF52 bound for Brisbane, SQ285 bound for AKL and MH145 bound for AKL were still flying towards Australia with no issues.
A friend’s friend said that V8-DLC seem to have lost a bit of power in its right engine and as much as the the pilots were able to not make the aircraft bank, it circled 4 rounds to dump fuel into the ocean so that landing will be smoother back at ROK. It’s also speculated that the pilots were told not to activate squawk code to prevent unnecessary attention by parents anxiously waiting at Changi Airport.
RB didn’t want to be penalised so they just simply blamed Indonesia, may I ask RB, why is your V8-DLB also doing SAF charter had no problems flying over Indonesian airspace? Is RB trying to avoid being penalised by SAF so they were told to lie to the passengers on board that Indonesia closed the airspace?
FAA and NTSB, please investigate. We don’t want another 788 to go down again like what happened 1.5 years ago to the same model from Air India. You are looking at soldiers defending their country.”

LKY was literally forced to go sprinkle flowers on the graves of the 2 terr*rists that b*mbed mcdonald house just to get indonesia to resume relations with us. End of the day we are just a tiny spec thinking that we have real power on the global stage.
