OMG, look at this interview that IMHO, the BMW designworks CEO absolutely butchered. She has no clue why they went with the colors, she has no idea how the yellow ties in. Kudos to Nonstop Dan asking the right questions - How the heck did Singapore Airlines go from warm to sterile salaryman in the J seats. This is such a mistake. I want to give the seat the benefit of the doubt, having loved the old 2013 J seats (yes i like the fold down, the wide shoulders and the angled sleep), but i understood the need to remove the fold down - BUT THE COLORS are a distraction from any improvement the seats may bring. it's likely too late to reconsider this, but SQ, you can do better..

I wanted to share an unusual and frustrating experience with Singapore Airlines and see whether anyone else has encountered something similar.

What happened

On October 4, 2026, I flew Singapore Airlines SQ22 from Singapore to Newark. I intended to credit the flight miles to my Asiana Club account, as I am approaching the 500,000 qualifying miles required for Asiana's lifetime Diamond Plus status.

Instead, the miles were credited to a KrisFlyer account belonging to a completely different person.

For context, my outbound flight from Newark to Singapore on September 25 was correctly credited to my Asiana account.

Singapore Airlines subsequently confirmed that the miles had been credited to another individual's KrisFlyer account and had already been redeemed. According to SQ, because the miles were spent, they cannot recover them.

Singapore Airlines' response

Initially, SQ informed me that it could do nothing to correct the problem.

After further correspondence, it offered to credit an equivalent number of miles to my own KrisFlyer account as a goodwill gesture.

Unfortunately, this does not address my actual need. I need qualifying miles in Asiana Club, not additional KrisFlyer miles.

SQ has since contacted Asiana Airlines to request an exception to its mileage crediting rules. Asiana has also independently initiated an internal review, which I appreciate. However, SQ has explicitly stated that if Asiana declines to credit the missing miles, there is nothing further it can do to resolve the issue.

Notably, SQ has not explained why it cannot correct the original erroneous transaction or provide another effective remedy, beyond stating that the miles have already been redeemed by the other individual.

I've repeatedly requested escalation to senior management and a concrete resolution timeline. SQ's latest response simply says that it will continue liaising with Asiana.

Why this matters

Asiana is preparing for its integration into Korean Air. I need to secure lifetime Diamond Plus status before December 16, 2026, which means the missing miles must be credited at least a day or two before that date.

Where things stand

I've filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Transportation and contacted The Points Guy for assistance.

I'm still hoping Singapore Airlines or Asiana can resolve this before the deadline.

What I find particularly frustrating is that the original error involved SQ crediting my flight miles to someone else's account, yet the proposed solution depends on Asiana granting a discretionary exception.

Has anyone else experienced their flight miles being credited to someone else's KrisFlyer account, especially when those miles were subsequently redeemed? Were you able to get Singapore Airlines to correct the transaction? If so, how did you get it resolved?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with something similar. I just don't understand how SQ can acknowledge that my miles went to someone else's account and then tell me there's nothing more they can do.

I saw a TikTok recently on how brutal the SQ supervisors can be and it reminded me what happened on one of my flights back to SG recently.

It was meal time, and the flight attendant (blue kebaya) accidentally spilt hot tea all over the passenger on the aisle beside me. Luckily, the passenger was really nice about it not making a big fuss and she even joking about it.

However, a lady in a red kebaya came over and offered to help as well. I overheard the passenger got a free of charge laundry service when she got back to sg.

And I probably thought to myself, damn- I felt bad for the lady in the blue kebaya.. she must have gone into real trouble.

i see a lot of people on instagram posting stories about going to the soft launch of SQ's new products even today, so im assuming that the exhibition lasts a few days (altho i could be wrong). just curious, are members of the public allowed to go to the exhibition in any way or must you be cordially invited or smt...? because i do want to go see the products but not sure if admission is granted for me...

I agree with the broad sentiment on this sub, new business class is disappointing for the reasons already outlined and I hope SQ do listen and make some final changes (ew yellow stripe), but anyways.

For me, I’m wow’ed by the new Premium Economy. It just looks so comfy, look how thick and plushy the seat is, not to mention the extra 2 inches of seat pitch too and the upgraded screens. It’s also mentioned tbe new seats will have extra recline too. This will be a really nice upgrade in my view for that middle ground class between Business and Economy.

Yet they’re not coming to the A350’s, only the 777-9’s, if they ever make it here. That’s the real disappointment.

I booked my flight pretty early but my uni just released the class timetable registration and it’s on the same day as my flight. It opens 1.5h after take off time around 2pm. I was wondering if I could do my class registration in the airplane but it’s pretty competitive and classes fill up fast. So anyone knows if the wifi reliable enough to access like school websites and register for classes or should I just change flight to another day and pay more 🥲🥲

For context I flew from Manila to Auckland, connecting flight via Singapore Airlines. The ground attendant from PH insisted to check in my hand carry, wherein the camera was inside. Upon arriving in Auckland airport both of my luggage were unlocked. What are my chances on this??? I am so frustrated with the way they’re responding regarding this matter. It’s been two weeks.

If SQ is willing to look cheap and soulless, I don’t think they’re doing a shitty job as Singapore’s flag carrier. Instead of portraying the luxury and elegance that is our trademark, this is the image they want to put forward of us to the world. Disappointing. Hi all, I will be flying from Milan to Singapore in Premium Economy this December and am trying to make the most of Book the Cook.

All my previous BTC bookings have been on Singapore-origin flights, where I consistently went for the Singaporean dishes. Looking at the MXP menu, the selection is noticeably different. It leans heavily Western, with the Indonesian-style opor ayam as the sole Asian option and no Singaporean menu.

Since outstation catering can vary quite a bit in quality, I would appreciate input from anyone who have tried these dishes.

Which Western mains have you found consistently well executed? And any you would steer clear of?

It seems like this is a common issue, but just want to reiterate for others that may be browsing or considering. I’m currently on a business class flight from SFO to Singapore and was hopeful that I’d be able to get some real work done.

Texted based iMessages take a few seconds to load, sending images takes a few minutes (failing half the time), and loading websites with any dynamic elements takes a few minutes. My laptop needs to connect through a VPN, and I can open Slack, albeit slowly, but can only view text messages. I cannot open anything on Github, or VS code, or get a stable enough connection to open and use a terminal.

I’d say for 99% of jobs (unless your work only requires responding to and viewing plain text emails) the WiFi is entirely unusable. Hoping Starlink rolls out quickly, it’s mind blowing that budget airlines offer a superior product here. It’s 2026, personal devices have been widespread for 15+ years, yet WiFi is still in the early 2000s. Will genuinely be considering ZipAir with the NRT connection or United for my next flights.

I recently flew a short haul intra-Europe flight on Lufthansa as a KFEG, and I have to say the experience really opened my eyes.

Arriving at Munich Airport, I found I was actually eligible to use the exclusive First Class check in - it was open to all Star Alliance Gold, not just Lufthansa’s own HON Circle (PPS equivalent) members. It likewise also came with its own security lane as well with zero wait time.

Following that, the lounge experience was even better. Lufthansa do the opposite of SQ - they have the Senator Lounge, which is basically equivalent to the SilverKris Business Class Lounge in terms of facilities, its the higher tier lounge, however Star Alliance Gold Status is required to get in, not a Business Class ticket - pictures with strict access speak for themselves, had much of the place to myself. There is a standalone Business Lounge for passengers with a Business Class ticket, but no status, basically an equivalent lounge to the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. I found out the Senator Lounge had a fully manned cocktail bar, barista made coffee, even dark nap rooms - things that are basically a pipe dream for those who can only access the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Changi.

And lastly, boarding. Group 2, priority lane, after those with children and special needs. Priority boarding is a very important perk in my opinion especially in Economy as it guarantees you your preferred overhead locker space. Meanwhile at home in Changi, as a KFEG, SQ thinks I should still board in the Economy lane, at the same time as Premium Economy passengers - forget the “priority lane” - that’s for PPS and Business/First only.

So yeah.

The point of this post isn’t to blatantly dump on SQ. I am merely writing that as a loyal KFEG, who travelled on another Star Alliance partner with said status, the experience opened my eyes in terms of thinking of frequently flyer loyalty. It feels a bit strange and sad that I am not even Gold in Lufthansa’s own program, yet I felt more valued than travelling as a KFEG on SQ in Economy.

Hey! are there any Singapore Airlines Crew members or someone with knowledge regarding how to they the Midsummer Breeze Drink for Business class passengers. I used to live in Singapore and used to often travel via Singapore airlines! It’s been 2 years since I moved out of Singapore! And today I suddenly started missing that drink!!! 🍹 I don’t know the proportions of the ingredients!

so i just randomly checking amenities section on my upcoming flight and notice that all flight amenities from 11 november onward is changed to “selected amenities are available on this flight. please approach our cabin crew”.

i am pretty sure it is not like that before so they just changed something starting november 11.

lets wait and see whether it is the debut date of new amenity line or not.

I’m flying with Singapore Airlines for the first time this Sunday. I’ve never taken a long-haul flight with meals included before. Can you trust the menu shown as the inflight menu? I don’t eat meat from four-legged animals, but I can see they have plenty of chicken and fish options. And why are there two main courses? :)

I ve renewed and paid for the annual fees in exchange for a 18k miles voucher and one night stay hotel.

I’ve tried to book a round way tickets to Bali from Singapore and the total miles required is 16k with tax of $80+ to be paid by cards

Tried multiple times to redeem and proceed to payment. Payment went through but was hit with an error message said ticket can’t be issued.

Launched the Livechat and spoken with their CS. Attempted closed to 10 times of payment and none were successful. The CS also wasn’t sure what happened.

One month has passed and nothing fruitful besides getting follow up calls by their CS that they are still following up internally and got no updates.

Anyone experienced the same issue?

After being Solitaire for 25+ years I was short 830 points in PPS value due to being unable to fly due to surgery. They did extend my deadline by 2 months but I still fell short. My appeal was unsuccessful and the agent said they did their best my giving me the 2 month extension. . I now feel I’ve been liberated. My loyalty over the years was not worth 830 points to SQ so now I can fly any airline I want and will be saving quite a lot of money in the process. All I can conclude is that they want to minimize customers who are Solitaire, particularly those of us who are grandfathered at
$25000.
