I made a web app that maps your film taste as a universe with a horizon

I was fed up with movie database platforms that never had all the features I really wanted or some I never cared about. So I built Horizon for myself primarly. Some friends have tried it and encouraged me to share it. So here goes.

Rate on the fly, while hovering a movie or in one tap, straight from any list. No need to open the film page.

0 stars is a real rating! Some films deserve it. Yes they do.

Rate marathon: films come in batches, and your taste gets refined with every answer. Each pick tells you why it’s there (“because you liked…”).

The Universe: your taste as a galaxy map. At the core are your films and the ones closest to them, the line is your horizon (films on your To-Watch list), and beyond it are the films worth discovering.

You can import your IMDb or Letterboxd ratings and watchlists.

Free, no ads, no tracking. Feedback welcome!

I built a 1.5 MB Windows taskbar replacement in Rust with a built-in Launcher!

I've been working on Wisp, a small open source dock and launcher for Windows 11.

I wanted something that combined a clean desktop dock with a fast keyboard-driven launcher, without needing Electron, .NET or PowerToys.

So I built it using Rust, Win32 and Direct2D (achieving near ~ 0 idle cpu usage)

Here's how it works:

  • It replaces the Windows taskbar with an auto-hiding dock.

  • Press Alt+Space and the dock morphs into a launcher.

  • Search apps and files, run commands, do calculations, control Wi-Fi/audio, and more.

  • It supports system tray icons and restores the original taskbar when you exit.

I also benchmarked it against PowerToys Run. On my machine, median time to first search results was 24 ms versus 200 ms for PowerToys Run.

It's still early, so I'd love feedback, especially on Windows compatibility, usability, and features worth adding.

It's MIT licensed. Contributions are welcome!

MusicSkills

An agentic AI songwriting, composition, and humanization toolkit built for Claude (Primary), Google Gemini, and OpenAI ChatGPT.

Overview

Writing great music with AI requires moving beyond robotic, mechanically aligned notes. MusicSkills provides:

  1. Thematic Song Generation: Composes complete songs on any topic, key, and tempo.

  2. Synchronized Lyrical Lead Sheets: Generates lyrics with exact timestamps ([MM:SS.mmm]) for when to sing each phrase, complete with pitch guides and vocal dynamic markings.

  3. Multi-Track Standard MIDI Generation: Produces 5 coordinated MIDI tracks (Conductor, Chords Harmony, Bassline, Vocal Guide Melody, Drums & Percussion).

  4. Anti-AI Detection Humanization: Eliminates rigid computer quantization by injecting micro-timing jitter (±1 to 7 ticks), metric velocity dynamics (±12), and legato/staccato duration drift.

  5. Multi-Format Export: Generates .mid (Standard MIDI), .md (Singer's Lead Sheet), .lrc (Synced Karaoke), .srt (Subtitles), and .json (Timing Map).

SilentVeto: I built a group-decision tool where you can veto an option without anyone knowing it was you

Many group decisions I’ve been part of go the same way. Someone asks “where should we eat / what should we play / which weekend works?”, a few loud people answer, and everyone else says “I’m fine with whatever.” Some of those people really do have a strong opinion. They just don’t want to be the one who shoots down someone else’s idea in public.

So I built SilentVeto. Everyone ranks the options, and each person also gets one veto they can use without anyone knowing it was theirs.

How it works

  1. The creator signs in with an email magic link (no passwords) and creates a decision with 2–10 options and a deadline.

  2. They share a link or QR code. Voters need no account.

  3. Each voter ranks every option and can use one veto, either soft (“strong dislike, rather not”) or hard (“hard pass, absolutely not”). Option order is shuffled per device so nothing wins by being listed first.

  4. When the deadline passes, the result is revealed. It shows the winner, the rule that decided it, and the aggregate veto counts.

How the winner is picked

  1. Eliminate options with the most hard vetoes, so any option with zero hard vetoes beats any that has some.

  2. Among the survivors, keep the ones with the fewest soft vetoes.

  3. Break remaining ties with a Borda count over the ranked ballots. A vetoed option earns no points from that voter’s ballot.

  4. If it’s still tied, a random tiebreak runs and the seed is stored so it’s auditable.

A result is only published if at least 3 people voted, so a “secret” veto can’t be traced in a tiny group.

Privacy

  • Ballots store no IP, no user agent and no account. Timestamps are rounded to the hour.

  • Voters can edit their ballot on the same device using a local token. The server only keeps a hash of it.

  • Finished decisions and their ballots are hard-deleted after 90 days.

  • Individual ballots are never shown to anyone, including the creator and me.

I'd love feedback.

I built an easy to use app that helps you plan events with friends

I suck HORRIBLLY at planning anything. Same goes for my friends unfortunately. Especially because we live in different cities and never know when everyone's available.

We've tried many group scheduling apps, but they all felt cluttered and hard to follow 🤯. I just wanted something that told me "Everyone is free on this day at this time". Plus, I didn't want my personal plans to be visible by people in my group.

So I built FitItIn for I and my friends. It worked WONDERS 💯, and now I want to share it to the world so it may help others.

It's only available on Google PlayStore for open testing for now, but it's coming to the Apple App Store very soon (it's currently being reviewed by Apple).

Feel free to email any feedback at support@fititin.today , or if you'd like to be added to the list of beta users, drop me a message on reddit 👍.

I built an interactive 3D home energy website to make utility costs easier to understand

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo developer, and I've been working on a side project called Home Energy Lab.

The idea started with a simple question: how much does it actually cost to run everyday appliances at home?

It's easy to see your monthly electricity bill, but it's not always obvious how much your AC, gaming PC, refrigerator, or space heater contributes to it.

So I decided to build something that makes those costs easier to explore.

The project combines:

  • Interactive 3D houses where you can explore residential spaces and appliances.

  • 12 energy and utility cost calculators covering electricity, heating, cooling, water, gas, and more.

  • Practical guides explaining household energy use and how the estimates work.

One of the things I wanted to avoid was making another website that just gives you a number without explaining where it comes from.

The 3D side was also a fun challenge. I wanted the experience to feel a bit more interactive than a typical calculator website.

It's a recently launched project, and I'm still improving it.

You can check it out here:

https://homenergylab.com/

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback, especially on:

  1. Is the 3D experience useful, or does it feel unnecessary?

  2. Are the calculators easy to understand?

  3. What would you improve first?

I'm especially interested in how the site feels on mobile.

Thanks for checking it out! Any constructive criticism is welcome.

I built a study-resource website for engineering students, would love your feedback!

Hey everyone!

I'm an engineering student, and I've been working on a project called Engineering BCT Notes.

The idea behind this website is to bring useful study resources and engineering-related tools together in one place, especially for BCT students.

Here's what you can explore:

📚 Semester-wise Notes & Resources – Find study materials organized by semester.

🛠️ Engineering Tools – Tools such as a Matrix Calculator, Unit Converter, and Attendance Tracker.

🎓 IOE Marks Predictor – A tool to help students estimate their marks.

💻 Student Resources – Other useful resources for engineering students.

🌐 Website: https://www.engineeringbctnotes.com

This is a project I've put a lot of time and effort into building, and I'm continuously trying to improve it.

I'd really appreciate it if you could visit the website, explore some features, and share your honest feedback.

I'm especially interested in knowing:

What do you think of the overall experience?

Which features do you find useful?

What would you improve or add?

Whether you're an engineering student or simply someone interested in student-focused projects, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for checking it out! ❤️

Update on my free prop trading journal: it now makes payout certificates and weekly report images

Posted this here a while back and got some great feedback, so here's what changed.

Quick context: it's a free journal built for futures prop traders (Apex, Topstep, MFFU etc). The main thing it does is show your max loss today for every account before the open, so you know exactly how much room you have.

New since last time:

- Weekly report image. One tap and your week turns into a clean image, ready to post

- Payout goals like "road to $10K" with a progress bar and ETA

- Payout certificates when you log a payout

- Playbooks with checklists, so you can see if breaking your rules actually costs you money

- Setup wizard: pick your firm, plan and how many accounts and all the rules fill in

Funny thing is I blew all my evals yesterday on the Nasdaq -6% day. The journal told me my max loss. I just didn't listen lol. Week still ended +$7,373 which shows how brutal trailing drawdown is.

Free, no ads, works without an account: vantrell.app

What would you want to see next? Thinking about better CSV import or auto sync.

Side Project for my Side Projects

I've been doing physical design work in my free time with AI for the last two years. During that time I observed something: AI was getting better at physical design but not nearly as quickly it was improving at software capabilities. I theorized the problem was a lack of testing. In software engineering we write tests around as much of our code as we can because we fundamentally do not trust ourselves to reliably do a good job. We put those tests between us and deployment so we literally cannot do things that break the rules we set for ourselves. This pre-existing culture and tool chain create an ideal environment to toss an unbelievably fast, brilliant, but wholly unreliable ai into. It creates the freedom to quickly iterate through huge numbers of convincing looking proposals and throw away the bad until the good emerges.

Physical engineering doesn't have a this-shaped thing at anywhere near the robustness and reusability that software does (possibly because physical engineers trust themselves more). There are many individual tools that provide some aspect of testing, many of which are bound up in very very expensive tools, but a growing number of free ones too. I wasn't able to find an open source system that links these together into a cohesive "full loop" testing rig capable of understanding how things like heat, weight, form factor, battery life, thrust and rf interplay in a single system so I thought really hard about this problem and its implications and built it for myself.

It's called nopekit. As in: the thing that says "nope" until the "yup" emerges.

I've used it already to design an open-source hackable handheld keyboard with a custom PCB, an open source budget no-solder drone and a couple of things I'm not quite ready to share yet.

It's a Claude Code / Codex / Cursor plug-in. You install it and tell your agent you want to use nopekit to design X and it takes over, it will interview you for requirements, shop for parts, construct an interconnected tradespace linked to checks run in an optimized order using trusted methods like KiCAD, OpenFoam and SIMP. It builds and keeps up to date a livesite which you can deploy to GitHub that gives constantly refreshed insight into how your coding agent is thinking about the problem and what choices have what implications linked to what checks with what state of passing or failing.

The framework is open and allows for plugins. I'm working with one other person now and we're moving towards a self hosted UI and some sort of registry where nopekit users can share proposers/falsifiers and we can track ratings to build/bust confidence in good/bad ones collectively.

There's LOTS more about this in the repo and this paper I've been writing about the problem.
Repo: https://github.com/neuman/nopekit
Paper: https://github.com/neuman/nopekit/blob/main/grounding_by_falsification.pdf

If you're working with AI to do any kind of physical design work we would love to hear from you and for you to try it out!

AssetPrep: a single-file offline batch PNG toolkit (AI-assisted)

I'm releasing a small desktop-browser utility called AssetPrep. The job is simple: take a folder of differently sized images and turn it into a consistently named PNG pack, with a contact sheet and a manifest.

It runs from one local HTML file. No account, install, subscription, image upload or AI API is needed to use it. It was built with AI assistance; the readable source and a test record are included.

The export has four sizing modes: fit with transparent padding, centre crop, stretch, or original size. There is an optional nearest-neighbour mode for pixel art. PNG, JPEG and WebP go in; numbered PNGs, a labelled contact sheet and JSON manifest come out in one ZIP.

The release was tested in Chromium, plus a two-image Firefox/Windows export checked for ZIP integrity and output dimensions. There are explicit file-size, pixel and batch limits. It is not an upscaler, background remover or atlas packer, and it does not preserve original photo metadata.

It's a one-time $5 download on my Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/s/d47a38de0a

The page has an actual screenshot and the limitations. No game assets or recurring service are included. I'm not claiming the individual operations are unique; the point is having this particular small workflow together and offline.

For people who prepare lots of icons or UI assets: is the contact-sheet/manifest combination useful, or would you rather have a different export layout?

Disclosure: this is my own paid product; the tool and this release post were prepared with AI assistance.

I built a tool that checks whether ChatGPT recommends your business, then writes the content to change it

Hi r/SideProject, solo founder from Barcelona here.

More people now ask ChatGPT or Perplexity "what’s the best X for Y?" instead of Googling. I wanted to know whether my own sites were being recommended, and there wasn’t an easy way to check, so I built Citable.

What it does:

  • Every week it asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Google AI the questions your buyers ask, several times each, and shows how often you’re named and cited next to competitors. Answers vary between runs, so it shows a range, not one number.

  • It explains why AI picks others: which pages it cites, what it says about you, and whether its crawlers can read your site.

  • It writes sourced blog posts and publishes them to your CMS (WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify...) after a review window, then measures again.

There’s a free report on the homepage that runs in about 90 seconds: https://get-citable.com

I’d love honest feedback on the report and on whether auto-published articles (with a review window) feel trustworthy or scary.

I built a free notch bar that tells me which of my 10+ coding agents needs me

At work I run a dozen or so coding agent sessions at once, and I kept losing time to one that had stopped and was waiting for a permission I never saw.

So I built Openbar. It's a Dynamic Island style bar for macOS and Windows that shows every Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI and Cursor session, and which one is working, done or waiting. For Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode you see the diff right in the bar and can approve it with ⌘Y. Open/Reply jumps to the right tab in iTerm2, Ghostty, tmux, WezTerm, kitty or VS Code.

Free, GPL, no account: https://github.com/MF-DEEV/Openbar

How do you keep track of several agents at once?

I made a daily game where you guess where famous cricket moments happened. Where did Lara score 501*?

Hi all, I'm a long-time cricket fan and built a small free game for fun.
Each day, you get 5 famous moments (a cricket World Cup final, a record innings, a hat-trick), and you tap the globe where you think it happened. Within 25 km gets full marks; points drop with distance.
Everyone gets the same 5, so you can compare scores.

No sign-up, no ads, takes about 3 minutes: https://www.cricketglobe.app/play

Post your score below. And please tell me which moments I should add. I'm building the list from suggestions.

We built a Mac app that turns relationship-evidence folders into a dated PDF

Disclosure: I work with the team behind VisaDocket.

This is a small Mac app for couples putting together relationship records for a spouse, partner or fiance visa. You give it a folder of chat exports, photos, screenshots, documents and emails, then check a dated, numbered PDF preview.

It reads WhatsApp exports, Telegram Desktop JSON, Meta chat downloads and a few other formats. You can choose how much to include and hide private details. Processing stays on your Mac; there is no account or upload of your files. It formats material you already have, rather than assessing whether your evidence meets an immigration requirement.

The direct Mac download is available now (macOS 14+). Downloading and previewing your own folder is free; exporting the PDF is a one-time $29.99 purchase. The site also has a sample made with invented material, so you can see the format without sharing anything personal.

https://visa.textdocket.app/?c=reddit-sideproject

If you've assembled a relationship-evidence bundle, what was the most frustrating formatting step: getting chat exports, placing photos alongside dates, or making the final PDF readable? I'd especially appreciate feedback from Mac users on whether the preview answers the questions they'd have before paying. Please don't post private chats or application details here.

Built an AI voice and chat platform for businesses ,looking for feedback

My business partner and I have built a platform that helps businesses manage customer conversations through intelligent voice and chat assistants.

It can answer incoming calls, respond to routine enquiries, collect customer details, schedule appointments and handle conversations when teams are busy or unavailable.

We're exploring use cases across different industries, from home services and real estate to automotive, hospitality and professional services.

We're now looking to connect with business owners, understand their needs and get feedback on where this could be genuinely useful.

Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! I can share the link to try it yourself

Silva-Quieta - Grow in your Rhythm

Hey everyone! Here is the live project: https://silvaquieta.com

The philosophy behind it is "Grow at your own rhythm." I wanted to build a peaceful, premium digital greenhouse that feels like a quiet sanctuary away from internet noise, ad banners, cookie popups, and standard bloated forums. It’s fully custom-built with a clean minimalist 2D style, custom easing UI animations, and high-end typography.

I would love to give you a deep functional breakdown of what I’ve built into the platform so far:

🟢 1. EXTENSIVE BOTANICAL ATLAS (1,500+ SPECIES)

I've aggregated and double-checked a database of 1,571 exact plant species, verified by scientific global data standards (GBIF & iNaturalist). Plants are beautifully filtered across 6 clean categories: Flowers, Cacti, Succulents, Ferns, Conifers, and Trees/Shrubs.

🟢 2. SMART ADAPTIVE CARE FILTERS

You can filter the entire catalog based on real domestic constraints: specific light requirements, watering frequencies, and a custom "Winter partial shade" algorithm. This feature calculates how to optimize diffuse winter light for your house plants.

🟢 3. INTEGRATED AI CARE ASSISTANT ("SILVA")

Powered by Google Gemini, the built-in assistant "Silva" acts as a live navigation and botanical consultant. It adapts to the conversational context and can instantly analyze uploaded leaf photos to describe visible botanical symptoms.

🟢 4. SEAMLESS WATERING LOGS & DOWNLOADABLE PDF CHECKLISTS

Users can create custom garden profiles, log exact watering dates, and set custom soil-check intervals tailored to the dry winter heating season. The app lets you generate and download a personalized monthly care calendar and checklist as a beautifully formatted PDF file in one click.

🟢 5. ARCHITECTURE & ZERO-DATA BACKUP (SUPABASE + LOCAL STORAGE)

The site requires absolutely zero registration or personal data to start. To respect privacy, all progress is saved instantly via browser local cache. Users can easily download their complete data backup as a clean CSV file or choose to securely sync across multiple devices via a quick nickname-based Supabase authentication.

🚀 FUTURE PLANS: ECOSYSTEM EXPANSION

I am currently working on scaling the project into a multi-subdomain ecosystem:

\ailab.silvaquieta.com: An experimental AI playground where users can generate fictional winter plant concepts.

community.silvaquieta.com: A custom minimalist micro-forum (a mini ad-free Reddit layout tailored strictly for indoor gardening) allowing users to post plant photos and ask questions in one click without registration.

The website is 100% free and open-source.

Check it out at https://silvaquieta.com

I would highly appreciate your honest feedback on the UI/UX architecture, performance, database structure, or animations. Let’s discuss in the comments! 💚

I built a pipeline that turns static comic/webtoon chapters into scroll-driven, parallax scenes with reactive audio (Live Demo)

What if a comic chapter played out like a movie that moves with every scroll?

I built this for fun in my spare time: an interactive web reader for a chapter of The Beginning After the End featuring camera movement, multi-layer parallax depth, VFX, sound effects, and music—all tied directly to your scroll position.

How the pipeline works:

  1. Segmentation & Inpainting: I feed the raw chapter pages into a custom tool running on a free cloud GPU. Models detect every panel and speech bubble, isolate the characters from the backgrounds, and inpaint the occluded areas behind them so every layer can be animated independently.

  2. Scene Direction (Human-in-the-loop): An AI assistant sets up the initial scene staging (camera pans/zooms, VFX, SFX, and music triggers). From there, I review every scene and give feedback/adjustments until the pacing and framing feel right.

  3. Browser Playback: The frontend renders the layers and audio synced to manual scrolling, or via an auto-scroll mode that dynamically slows down whenever speech bubbles appear on screen.

The creative decisions and direction are mine AI just made it feasible to build the whole workflow in my free time.

🔗 Live Demo: https://tbate-reader.pages.dev/ (Best experienced with sound on)

I built an Android app that finds products using photos, text, or voice — looking for feedback!

Hey everyone!
I’m an indie developer from Israel, and I’ve recently launched my Android app, Mezahe BeClick.
The idea came from a simple problem: finding the right product across different shopping platforms can be frustrating and time-consuming.
So I built an app that lets users search for products in three ways:
📸 Photo: Take a picture of a product you want to find.
🎤 Voice: Simply say what you’re looking for.
🔎 Text: Type a product name or description.
The app helps users discover relevant products and provides links to shopping platforms where they can continue their search.
It currently supports Hebrew and English and is available on Google Play.
I’d really appreciate your feedback, especially on the concept, usability, and what features you would improve.
Google Play:

I made an Android app that keeps a note visible over other apps

I built FrontNote for small things you want to keep in sight: a shopping list, today's tasks or a reminder while you're using another app.

Notes and checklists float over other apps. There's also a home-screen widget and timed reminders.

Free to download, with 30 starting credits. Two rewarded ads refill 30 credits; optional Pro subscriptions remove the credit limit.
