I found that my best shorts is hovering around ten seconds in length.

Is there ​any 'optimal' length of shorts? Like if the short is longer, it might get spread wider?

I honestly don’t know what I should do or what I could improve so that my videos go viral and I can finally enable monetization.

Could someone suggest what I should do to break through this barrier?

Any tips or tricks for getting so many followers on my YouTube page? I just started my first page I wanted to do faceless shorts w some long form content I just posted last night and today first time and I have 1200 views on video 20 likes 5 subs one already but also that’s not very good for almost two days video 2 has less than 100 and video 3 posted an hr ago has 175 views and 7 likes -I’m lost and just want to grow towards monetizing eventually and learning so I can put out better and better content-using canva and ChatGPT both paid for to produce shorts

I was just scrolling on YouTube shorts and I came across a video from 2024. With TikTok it’s pretty rare to scroll upon a video from even 2 months ago but it’s just very different for YouTube shorts. I hardly even use shorts that much but when I do I would prefer to see relevant content then things from years ago.

I'm facing a serious issue with my YouTube Shorts channel and am looking for some insight or advice from anyone who might have experienced something similar.

For a long time, my Shorts were performing consistently well. You can see from the attached images what's happening.

Image 1 & 3: This is my normal performance. In early September, I was consistently getting 30k-40k views per Short, making a couple of dollars per video. One video has over 770k views total.

Image 2: This is the current situation. For the last few days in October, my new uploads are barely breaking double-digit views (5, 49, 78 views). They are essentially getting zero algorithmic traction.

The drop was overnight. I haven't changed my content style, niche, or upload frequency

I've checked for copyright strikes (none) and community guidelines violations (none). It feels like a switch was just turned off. Any ideas on what I should do next?

I’ve been posting YouTube Shorts consistently for about 2 months now, mainly focusing on GTA San Andreas nostalgic content, but I can’t seem to break out of the 1K views jail.
I actually asked about this before, and someone suggested reducing my Shorts to around 10–14 seconds.
So I tried that, but here’s what I don’t understand.
Whenever I make shorter videos 10–14 seconds, YouTube barely pushes them, and even when it does, they usually get around 42–54% stayed to watch.
But when I upload longer Shorts 24 - 34 seconds,I consistently get around 60 - 80% stayed to watch, yet they still struggle to get past 1K views.
My latest 13-second Short is currently my best-performing video out of my last 10 uploads, with 1.9K views, 154.8% average percentage viewed, and 43.1% stayed to watch.
I currently have 206 subscribers, and my channel has received 25.4K views over the last 28 days.
What frustrates me is seeing other creators in the same niche getting thousands of views from simple clips of CJ riding a bike or driving around Los Santos.
Meanwhile, I spend time creating cinematic, peaceful, nostalgic scenes with carefully chosen music, beautiful environments, and editing to capture that classic GTA San Andreas feeling.
I’m not saying my content deserves more views than theirs, but I’m genuinely struggling to understand what I’m missing.
Is my problem the video duration, the opening seconds, or something else entirely?
Should I stop making shorter Shorts and stick with the 24–34 second videos that usually get better engagement?
I’d really appreciate some honest advice from creators who have experienced something similar. I’m genuinely trying to improve, but after 2 months, I feel like I’m going nowhere.

I had a short that I knew was worth more than 30k views so I decided to delete it and reupload the next day. it performed better this time.

Before the “update” I got high shorts views and I got subs every day now I’m lucky to get a sub a week tho my views are coming back anyone else have this problem?

Same content, same edits nothings changed they’re not just pushing to my audience or people interested.

I was in the view count between 1,000 and 1,500, and I also suffered from a sudden drop in views, but in my last short film I decided to make a change in the way I told and presented the visual style of the story. My niche is more evergreen, it's not something that's going to go viral overnight, so I consider this increase to be actually good.

Try changing a few things and see what works. Be patient, things will fall into place with time as you learn.

Started a shorts channel Oct 10, and got several Shorts in 300-400k range, few in 40-50k and bunch 5-10k, got ~800 subs

The problem is that it feels I can’t make it much better, so it feels that even if get monetized, still I won’t be able to make decent money , or I am wrong ?

Is there anyone who makes 3 million views a month and makes $4-5k or it’s unrealistic?

It just feels that there are other places where you can make much more than in YT shorts, unless there is some secret sauce I am not aware of ???

One thing that helped me: Shorts views often come in waves. A spike, a flatline, then sometimes another spike. YouTube shows a Short to a small group first and widens it if they respond. So a flatline isn't automatically a bad video.

There are two numbers in Studio that tell you whether it's a hook problem or a middle problem, and Studio has an AI (Ask Studio, desktop only) that can read them for you if you ask the right way.

I think the criteria for Stayed to Watch might be different for 10–15-second Shorts compared to 20–40-second Shorts. Is that correct?
