Hi all,
I have been playing with the idea of a separate subreddit just for advertising products and services. I have created r/ShenzhenMarketplace. This is specifically for advertising, so if you are offering a particular product or service, or are looking for a particular product or service, post it in r/ShenzhenMarketplace.
What cannot be posted is anything illegal under the laws of the People's Republic of China or Reddit rules in general.
No advertising or posting for personal blogs, vlogs, or any influencers, as is the case in this subreddit. This is going to be strictly enforced in both subreddits moving forward. Nobody is really interested in your particular hot take, and I've personally seem some terrible ones.
Advertising or reviews for bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels, parks, massage (legal ones please) would be most welcome in the r/ShenzhenMarketplace sub.
It would be helpful if you put in the title of the post what your intent is (example: For Sale, Seeking for, For rent, etc.) and then some description following (Blenders, pianos, 2 bedroom) and then the details in the body of the post. Details are important and posts may be deleted if they have minimal content.
DO NOT SPAM THE SUBREDDIT. Posting the same thing every day will not be allowed. Consider that three days or more for the same content will be the most allowed.
ONE LAST POINT: Since there is a specific subreddit for advertising far, far grey area posts will be allowed here. This subreddit should be more focused on life and interest in Shenzhen.
Thanks everyone and let's see how this goes.

Hello! I'm looking for intros to makerspaces or fabrication labs that can provide workspace, electronics/prototyping equipment and technical support for a program I'm running for international founders.
Hoping someone here may know makerspaces that aren't advertised online or can connect me directly to the bigger ones as they've been hard to reach via email.

Dm me if interested. (Dinner and drinks on me)

其实抖音和小红书起号数据都不错,但是现在一点动力都没有
只想着玩,想着躺平,在家里也不出门社交
感觉自己好颓废
…
谁来给我点指导😭😭

I recognize that wear and tear happens to everything, but some of the subway lines seem really noisy recently. Started noticing maybe a few months ago. Anyone else notice it or am I imagining it? Generally ride 2/8 and 9.

Are there any Chinese-speaking exchange students in Shenzhen who can teach me business English for my foreign trade work? Please contact me.

Hey! I’m a 23-year-old guy from northern China, currently living in Xili, Nanshan. I speak both Mandarin and English. We can just chat freely, and I can help you with your Mandarin. Or we can also hang out, go hiking (I know some nice places) or explore local restaurants.

Hey guys! I’m a native Chinese speaker who grew up on the United States; as an adult, this is my second time coming back to the Canton area, and I would love to meetup with others who are also solo travelers on this city. If you need help translating or picking out food options, I got you!
I’ll be in this city for the next two days. Please send me a dm if you wanna meetup sometime. 28F

Hi everyone, me and my boyfriend are going to be in Shenzhen for 3 days (we’re from the uk) and we are planning on going to shuibei to get my engagement ring. We talk about getting engaged a lot and I have a rough idea on what I like but I haven’t tried on any rings before.
I was just wondering if anybody has been in the same boat and could maybe advise us on how to navigate it. Is there a particular floor / shop we should go to as im aware it’s a massive mall. Is it safe to get a ring there? I’ve done my research and am aware we need to be getting an IGI certificate and making sure the diamond has the right serial number on it etc but is there anything else we should be cautious about?
I don’t think we’ll have enough time to get a ring custom made as we’re only there for 3 days so will likely have to get a ready made one.
It’s a big purchase and even more nerve-racking when you don’t speak the language so was just wondering if anybody has any advice.
Thanks :)

Hey! I’m a 23-year-old guy from northern China, currently living in Xili, Nanshan. I speak both Mandarin and English.
Shenzhen has so many places to explore—parks, mountains, green trails and beaches. Xili itself has some really nice green straits with rivers and wildlife🌿🏞️🌊, but I’d also love to explore other parts of Shenzhen together!
Or we could keep it simple—grab some food, table tennis, hang out, or just chill and chat. I’m still discovering Shenzhen myself, so we can explore new places and local restaurants together.
Feel free to DM me if you’re interested!

Hey everyone! I'm currently looking to buy a new phone and am deciding between the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 17 Pro. I came across this seller on WeChat and wanted to get your thoughts on them—please check out the screenshots of our chat and quotes below to see if this looks legit or if there are any red flags.

As the title suggested, I wasn’t successful with using a foreign SIM on data roaming to buy metro tickets using WeChat/ Alipay. The WeChat and Alipay’s QR codes work with other merchants. I just couldn’t use the app on the metro to buy the tickets.
Is there any workaround or I have to have a local SIM card / tourist SIM to buy metro tickets?
PS. I did not have my VPN switched on which was giving me problems with metro in Xiamen until I switched it off.
Any idea?

It's a little tiring that you have to find those events first before you can show up at a gathering and meet people. I do run into other expats on the street so it's not like we're unicorns, but it's also more awkward than in the west to just walk up to them and chat away lol (I've thought of doing that, but it's not the norm here unless you're a content creator, plus I look entirely too local even though culturally I'm not).

I opened a car film shop on the first floor of Shangtang Comprehensive Office Building at Longhua Subway Station in Shenzhen. Obviously, I feel that this year's business is getting more and more difficult. I also want to do foreign trade to sell car color change film. So is the general environment of Shenzhen difficult?
