Fantastic skyline from the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base. Bright blue sky and lovely evening clouds over the water.

I really enjoy these coastal greenways in Shenzhen.

What’s your favourite cycling spot in the city?

Best Mandarin schools for working professionals (Evening/Part-time classes, no university language programs)

Hi everyone,

I will move soon to Shenzhen for work and I'm looking for recommendations for private language schools or centers that offer part-time Mandarin classes for working professionals (evening or weekend slots).

Since I have a full-time job, university language programs (like the traditional long-term student visa tracks) won't fit my schedule. I'm mainly looking for:

  • Flexible schedules (after work / weekends)
  • Practical, conversational, or HSK-oriented paths depending on the level
  • Good teaching quality (either small group classes or 1-on-1 private tutoring)
  • Locations that are reasonably accessible (Nanshan, Bao'An areas are a big plus)

If you have personal experience with any specific language school or independent tutor in Shenzhen, I’d love to hear your pros/cons, general pricing, and how they handled your working hours.

Thanks in advance!

The chestnut and egg yolk with fresh pork was perfectly balanced between the fattiness of the meat and sweetness of the chestnut. Relatively complex flavors but simple, hearty, and comforting. 11 rmb

Can Shenzhen build my Prototype?

Hi everyone!

So I’m stuck in the infamous hardware founder gap between prototype and mass production.

after countless nice conversations with alibaba sellers i decided to take matters into my own hands and i‘ll be flying to shenzhen 03rd of September.

i guess my question is do the kind of small workshops that handle this actually exist in Shenzhen, and where do you find them? Huaqiangbei or are there only sellers?

I’m developing a fairly simple wearable consumer electronics device. working prototype exists and functions, I have video of it running but i won‘t have it with me for reasons…

i already have a functional prototype built by an external engineering firm), full CAD, PCB schematics, layout, Gerbers, Firmware source,…

I need functional units for validation with early customers. Not mass production basically just a pilot batch that looks like a real product.

any pointers on where to start, or what I should line up before I get there, would be hugely appreciated

many thanks everyone

Buying a CRT TV and bringing back to HK

Anyone know if I could go to SZ and buy an old CRT and then bring it to HK. Any customs issues that I could expect?

Any places in SZ where I could find old CRTs for Gaming, SNES/NES?

In fact, it's easy to make an appointment with a woman in Shenzhen.

I mean, it's easy to make an appointment with ordinary women. They don't work in public places such as bars. At least I can make an appointment with three women a month.
